Carter would be a tough pill for me to swallow, and Id hope he would say the right things and be contrite about his situation.

I found a way to root for Vick, so Im sure if I saw him demolishing OLman then Id be won over.

I don't want to move up for him.  Its almost a guarantee that a great player falls to us at 10, just keep it simple.

I’m not sure a kid racing cars is anywhere near torturing dogs. Who among us hasn’t gone too fast in a car?

Ive never raced my drunk friend, watched him and another friend have a horrific fatal crash as a result, and then ran away.   No, Ive never done anything like that

Both were disgusting, criminal acts

And we won’t know the entire story either.  For all we know, someone with him could have told him to get out of there, etc. - could have panicked and not really thought about the gravity of the situation, etc.  Not saying it’s an excuse but it happens.

I don't really want to re-hash all of this again, but since he is a potential Eagles draft target ....

He didn't just go too fast in a car.  He engaged another vehicle in a race, driven by a chick -- which most likely means he was the one who instigated said race.  Two occupants in the other vehicle were killed.  He left the scene, where two people he knew very well were dying, or had died.  If it was possible he could have helped, he didn't help.

He lied to police when questioned.  He was not given a sobriety test on scene but was very likely intoxicated since the driver of the other vehicle was intoxicated.  If he was sober, that speaks even worse of his character.

I wouldn't touch him as a first round draft pick.  Why?  It's not a question of morality; it's a question of terrible decision making and absence of remorse.  He's going to get into trouble again -- it's just a matter of time.

Not so why this is so hard to understand.  Carter was never high on my draft wants but he is a do not want now.

I have a pretty bold take that don’t think people are gonna like but if they’re sitting at 10 and they move back two or three slots to pick up some extra pick, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if paris Johnson jr is a guy they draft. I would not be shocked if they drafted him thinking he is the eventual long-term replacement for lane and he could play right guard til lane retires. I know lane said he wanted to retire in two or three more years but I wouldn’t be so shocked that kelce and lane retire at the same time assuming kelce comes back this year.

Dude I had posted this a few times over the past few days including a couple of hours ago.  Quit stealing my takes

Robinson might be a good fit for the Eagles. He is versatile - he split his snaps among FS, Box Safety, and Nickel CB.

Just watched some Chase Brown film.  He's an interesting prospect, good vision, really good hands as a receiving RB.  Surprised he ran 4.43 at the Combine because it looks to me like he lacks breakaway speed; seems to get caught and tackled at the second level more often than not.

Might be a 5th round pick.  If the Eagles end up with a pick there he could be a Boston Scott replacement.  about 5'9 and 210 lbs

What do you guys think of Joey Porter Jr out of Penn State?  The idea of a 6’3 CB is appealing, imo. In terms of skillset, any comparison to (maybe) a Bobby Taylor type of player?

That won't change his request.

I assumed it would strengthen it.

In the NFL he'll have a fall guy ...😒

Great combine numbers. My guess is that he won't go before 10, but if he's the pick at 10, I would be pretty happy about. I am in the "corner is by far our biggest need" camp, so if they draft him, I would think they don't have concerns about him starting day 1.

I also think they won't reach at the corner spot, so if they aren't in love with him, they would just draft a lineman like they usually do.

I like him, long arms, good speed, looks a bit handsy sometimes on tape not a ton of INTs but a good amount of PBUs.

Only thing I can think of is if Howie would be a bit gun shy to draft a player whose dad was an NFL player after the whole reagor mess.🤷‍♂️

There were a lot in here that did not care that he lied to police.

Barcelona face corruption charges over referee payments scandal - report

Prosecutors are seeking corruption charges against Barcelona and former president Josep Maria Bartomeu following the unearthing of payments to the former vice president of the refereeing committee, judicial sources have confirmed to Spanish news agency EFE.

Until now, former referee Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira had been the sole focus of the investigation for payments worth €1.4 million received from Barca between 2016 and 2018.

Anyone who thinks NFL refs are above getting paid off the way NBA or soccer refs have has their head in the sand

This is the part that should rub people the wrong way the most and shows you what type of person this guy is from a character standpoint. Maybe I'm putting too much into it, but if I had to share a locker room with a guy who I knew left two of his friends in a car wreck to die without calling for help immediately that would really bother me. I don't know the circumstances around the deaths and if they were killed immediately, but maybe if he calls for an ambulance they have a chance to survive.

I think it's fair to assume he left the scene because he was drunk and didn't want to get into trouble.

I'm 100% sure Goodell has buried a ref scandal in his time. Probably several.  Not sure they are fixing winners tho.  There are so many ways to bet on games now that they can secure money without trying to make one team win. If you bet the under and call a lot of offensive holding penalties on both sides it looks fair but you're effecting the points. So many ways to do it

Willock was ejected from vehicle not wearing seat belt, pronounced dead at scene, the driver died later in the hospital.

Either way bailing on both friends is pretty messed up.

There were some reports that other Georgia bulldog officials were at the scene and told Carter to leave,( damage control) though I'm not sure that's been confirmed or will.🤷‍♂️

It's a sad situation where all 3 made really poor decisions and two of them lost their lives.

RIP

If the Eagles let all three of Bradberry, CJGJ, and Hargrave walk it will decimate the defense.  It's one thing to lose depth like Suh, Joseph, and even Cox with Davis and Williams waiting in the wings. It's one thing to replace one of the starting LB's with Dean. It's another thing to have to replace two starting members of the secondary when there are no young in house replacements who are even close to the level of Bradberry and CJGJ. We are starring down the barrel at a DT position that is young and uncertain and a starting secondary of Slay, Epps, Blankenship, and a rookie or McPherson at CB2. Not good.

I think if you were really to do a tell-all, open the books investigation into the NFL, you'd find that they're one of the dirtiest organizations out there. One of the reasons why I think Goodell gets paid so handsomely is because he does a lot of dirty work for the owners. And there is an implicit leverage he has with the owners where he can basically say, "I do this for you all, so I want this salary and these benefits in return."

Most of these owners are slime-balls, but when you start treading with billionaires most of them are dirty and sly to a degree.

Solak on the podcast mentioned John Johnson III as a cheaper option. Was a dog on the Rams but definitely regressed on the Browns last year. Only 27 and has shown up in the playoffs for LA though and I think he’s a good fit for Desai.

I don’t see them planning to bank on a rookie safety starting unless they get lucky.

Just a thought -- CJGJ may not get the contract he expects on the open market. The FA class of safeties is strong. Wonder if Howie is letting the market bring down CJGJ's number.

I wonder this too, but somebody will pay him more than us

May have to take a step back to go forward in upcoming years, we kinda shot our shot and missed and now this is the reality. CJ being 25 tho I would keep if there was anyway.
