I think asking them to score an average of 41 is unrealistic.  Only 2 teams have averaged more than 35 the last 10 years.  2018 Chiefs (35.3), and 2013 Broncos (37.9).  I didn’t check, but 41 per game would probably be an NFL record.

For the Eagles, it would be almost a 2 TD per game improvement over last year…not very likely

Yeah broncos have the record

Then you got this dumba$$ trying to outdo ESP

I get the argument if I'm guessing the argument correctly. Jurgens looks like the real deal, you wouldn't be holding him back anymore and you would save the $14M or so you would otherwise be paying Kelce and use that on another area of the team.

That's a lemon.  Stafford is washed.

I agree, and of those two I still lean Witherspoon despite the combine. Banks 3rd, Porter 4th. Here's how I think the first 9 play out:

Off the board:

QB - Young, Stroud, Richardson, Levis

EDGE - Anderson, Wilson, Murphy

DL - Carter

OL - Johnson

At 10, that leaves the following reasonable choices on the board:

CB - Witherspoon, Gonzalez

EDGE - VanNess

OL - Skoronski, Jones

WR - Johnson, Smith-Njigba

DL - Kancey

In this scenario, I take the CB1 Witherspoon all day over the other options.

I would move back in that scenario. Especially due to what we have to work with in the 2023 draft after round1. Still some awesome CBs can be had at 30

Get Jalen, or move back and try and snag a 2024 1st

Tua is better at this point, if they aren't comfortable  with Tua due to the concussions then they can just bring Brady out of retirement.

There is no upside in Kelce leaving the team. If Jurgens can be a fraction as good as Kelce is right now, the Eagles will be lucky.

There is upside of $14M that can go other parts of the team.  If Jurgens is bad and a weak link then yeah that $14M saved and redistributed to other areas of the team isn't worth it.  But based on what we saw from Jurgens I don't think he will be bad.  I think right off the bat he will be an above average starter who would continue to improve over time.

What would you think if we drafted Ringo and moved him to S?

Perhaps watch tape and then access what $14M can get that will replace how Kelce makes the running game function at a high level.

I thought about this as well

The beauty of Jurgens is he has shown that same ability to be as athletic and pull and get to the second level for blocks.  The biggest hit you'd be taking is the lack of experience and Jurgens knowing what he is seeing pre-snap to get the blocking adjustments at the line set.  But Jurgens wpnt get that experience to learn until he starts playing.  You can only learn so much sitting on the bench watching film learning from Kelce.

I'd think we should have just drafted a safety instead

That would make him more Malcolm Jenkinsesque

Hurts plays at the most important position in the game, he's only 24 years old and is the franchise player.  Kelce is a center at the end of his career with a 2nd round draft pick that is waiting to step in.

Why?  Ringo probably has a much higher ceiling than anyone else that would be there.  It's like taking OT's and moving them to OG's.  You get the more talented player

This is why I didn't like drafting Jurgens in the first place

No need to continue but Jurgens has shown no such thing. He is projected to have that ability and every Eagles fan hopes that he does. Kelce is a HOF center, one of the best the NFL has seen and truly a leader in the locker room. Not as easy to replace as you seem to think but I do agree that the Eagles have put into place the best transition plan possible.

I think a few factors point to him returning for one more year:

1)  He stayed pretty healthy last season.  The years he was seriously considering retirement he was gutting it out through pain all season

2)  Sirianni and the organization give the veterans lots of rest days off.  Not every team does that

3)  I think he came back this past season because he believed the team had a chance to contend.  He might still see the window open

4)  While I think he's already a HOF lock, he might want to add one more Pro Bowl/All Pro season to his resume while he's still playing at that level

5)  If he retires now and makes it on his first ballot opportunity, his induction will take place the same year as Brady … who wants to play second fiddle in that circus?
