We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

No need to continue but Jurgens has shown no such thing. He is projected to have that ability and every Eagles fan hopes that he does. Kelce is a HOF center, one of the best the NFL has seen and truly a leader in the locker room. Not as easy to replace as you seem to think but I do agree that the Eagles have put into place the best transition plan possible.

He has though.  We saw him do it in free agency and we saw it in the rare times he was able to see the field during the regular season.

Fact is center is one of the few positions on the team where they have a replacement in place if they were to lose the starter.  They have someone in place they drafted to eventually become the starter and now has a year of development in this offense learning under Kelce.

Is the team better with Kelce?absolutely.   But it isn't this incredibly damaging season altering drop-off if Kelce retires and they move forward with Jurgens.  The $14M saved that can then go into bringing back a player like CJGJ or Bradberry ultimately probably results in the overall team being better.

This is why I didn't like drafting Jurgens in the first place

If Seumalo can play guard, so can Jurgens. Biggest concern would be if they draft a T/G type in the 1st this year. Then it would feel like we're in a holding pattern with Jurgens.

Its almost like drafting a C in the 2nd round in back to back drafts is coming back to bite us....whodathunk

Isn’t he on the verge of retirement

You guys going to lose it when we draft Paris Johnson Jr. at 10?

Why?  Ringo probably has a much higher ceiling than anyone else that would be there.  It's like taking OT's and moving them to OG's.  You get the more talented player

It's actually a much different skill set with different responsibilities.  Ringo is a boundary CB and some of his weaknesses according to his draft profile are tracking deep balls, he's slow anticipating breaks, and he loses coverage during QB scrambles.  All of these weaknesses would be amplified if he has middle of the field responsibilities.

The move from CB to S is best done with veteran CBs who have great ball skills but have lost a step.  Guys like Charles Woodson, Rod Woodson, etc. became excellent safeties.  It's not something easily done straight out of college into the NFL.

The Eagles would more likely end up with another position-switch player like Nate Gerry.

Where would Kelce go to play another year? Somebody mentioned KC which is laughable as they have the 2nd best C in the league already there. So Kelce likely retires then instead of playing out his last year for some random team.

Regardless, the guy is an absolute legend. Perhaps you forget how the Dawkins saga ended, but I sure don’t. Pay Kelce for as long as he wants to play here. Move Jurgens to guard until Kelce hangs em up

Where are you getting your $14 million number.  Spotrac for the 2022 season had Kelce at $1,120,000 Base Salary plus $2,000,000 in Bonuses. There was also a $5,525,000 Signing Bonus proration, which is due regardless of whether he re-signs or not.

Don’t know why mcvay would come back for that. Frankly they’d have been better off hopint he left for a year then trying to trade him like the saints with Payton when he likely wanted to come back.

Run it back with Baker

Wins will be scarce

Get a shot at the Caleb Williams sweepstakes

Tbh i don’t think anyone is beating out the cardinals for that. I get they have murray frankly i think they’d deal him at that point and select Williams

Did he change his mind since this?

No he’s back. I don’t know why he’d come back to completely reset and be awful this upcoming year. If the rams were blowing it up and starting over i don’t see mcvay as the guy who’s doing it. Better off him walking away for a year and then coming back a year later like Payton and getting picks in a trade or trading him to a team hiring a coach in this cycle that’s much closer to being a contender. I don’t see mcvay coming back in a tank/rebuild

Alright!!

Starting two rookie CBs, that's a bold move Cotton.  Is Zech McPherson OK to stopgap - we had good injury luck on the outside last year, so kind of a mystery...

I think you take two, let them compete for the starting spot and use the other as depth/nickel matchup. I’m cool with it — this is a great class and Slay is near the end.

Crazy take but I would rather pay Hargrave CJGJ and Bradberry than give 50 million to Hurts.

When I was a kid, my dad had someone who worked for him that moonlighted as a limo driver.  Occasionally, she would get WWF folks and she would shoot the breeze with them, often asking about the big PPV's coming up.  Long story short, my dad would ask her what they talked about knowing lil' paco was a WWF fan and I would get the "results".

They were ALWAYS wrong.  I don't know if it is due to culture there or the fact that script changes can happen up to the day of, but I personally would never bet on wrestling on a hot tip.  (Well, maybe if there is a rumor wrestler X who has been gone for a while will be back at the Royal Rumble, putting some $$$ on them to win is as good as pot odds as any)

I think that's a reference to his pocket mobility.
