If any question should be answered during the offseason, its that one! We need some investigative journalists

Find yourself people like cardinals fans who will defend Kyler murray to no end even though he’s overrated as F and will never win anything. Living out here it’s hilarious hearing gotta give him a chance like 4 years in he hasn’t been and Gannon is gonna unlock him.

The biggest question mark next year goes back to Hurts.

Patrick Mahomes won the SB with a team that had a just OK defense, a spectacular TE, a good OL, and bad WRs.  His contract had a direct causality in not being able to keep Tyreek Hill.  If you exclude the QB position, the Eagles, 49ers, Bills, Bengals...hell maybe Vikings and Cowboys...all better teams than KC.

And KC won the SB.  With a roster that was worse in 2022 than in 2021.

And the Eagles will have a lesser roster in 2023 than in 2022.

Can Hurts be enough of a superstar to pull that off?  ANY team that spends 50m on their QB is betting on yes.

I'm not being anti-Hurts...I wasted enough time on that.  But this IS a fair question and concern with Hurts and roster construction.  Only 1 QB in the NFL out of 32 starters, IMO, has proven to actually be worth that money.

If Jordan Poyer doesn't have many suitors, would anyone be interested on a 1 year deal?  Or is that too Blaine Bishop-y?

None of those teams besides, the Titans that you mentioned are going to be close to the top five to make that jump (assuming Jimmy g to raiders). Steelers with Pickett went .500 in his rookie season. Tomlin always has his teams at least .500. New England might trade for Hopkins. Also New England even with a battered Mac Jones this year managed to go 8-9. Dolphins depending on tua might be but tua plays most of the season like this year they are going to be too far back. The Raiders might want him. However, Jimmy Garoppolo likely makes that team more competitive. Again they’d have to trade a boatload to get up to 1 and they all might be too far back from where the no. 1 team wants to move back.

So all those teams you’re gonna need a team that is bad at 1 but already has a quarterback of the future willing to trade out of that spot. Would have to be someone like the colts (draft one this year) or the Texans. I find it really hard to believe with how much of a generational prospect that Caleb Williams is and cheap for 5 years that if a team like the Cardinals are sitting at one, they won’t just select him and then deal Kyler Murray for whatever they can get to help Hurd around him. Especially with all the crap surrounding him and he’s injury prone.

if Carolina doesn’t get a Qb this year, Bucs, cardinals and heck even Washington with howell starting this year all seem to have a better shot at 1 then every one of those teams besides the titans. Falcons could depending on what Ridder is

Oh, I know.  I'm just thinking of AFC teams that MIGHT be in the hunt for a QB next year.

The podcasts with avant and quintin and the kelce brothers are pure gold. I can't listen to birds with friends or the kapadia/solak ones because there's no value. Kapadia made a name for himself doing tape breakdown when only a few people had access to the all22, but now that everyone has it he is somewhat useless. I like Rueben Frank and Zangaro because Frank has a folksy way about him, and they work well together. Inside the birds has fallen off a cliff. Now it is nothing but them walking back bad info that they put out previously.

I like the nfc mixtape, but only because the cowboys guy is a good listen, and talkin giants is great. But i only like listening to them after losses, plus in the offseason.

I should rephrase that.  If I have the option to read or listen to something, I'm going to read it.  I do enjoy some podcasts.

I really enjoy Nasty Knuckles.

Give Hurts as many weapons as we can.  If that means taking a stud TE earlier than they should, then do it.  If JSN is there at 30 and he's clearly the BPA, take him.  If they double dip at RB, so be it.

Make the game as easy as possible for Hurts.

Parris Campbell as a salvage project.  Could be a really interesting slot projection and competition for Quez.  He's only 25.

I was a huge DJ Chark fan in the draft, but I suppose that ship has sailed at this point.  But still young and more talented than Quez.

What about some young high draft pick corners at the end of their disappointing rookie deals?...maybe they find a home at safety.  Malcom Jenkins and CJGJ both fit that mold.

To be fair, Gannon should be good at unlocking him for practice. He’ll look awesome.

I’m kind of onboard with this philosophy without completely neglecting the defense. I’m not saying take a guy like Bijan Robinson at 10, but if you can trade back and a prime receiver is there, I wouldn’t be mad at it. I could see this being their philosophy in the draft and then filling the defensive holes with Hargrave 2020 types of deals. Zach Allen might be a candidate for that. They can do that at safety as well and use one of the first rounders on a corner.

Part of why I don’t think it’s such a terrible idea to keep loading up on offensive playmakers is because for how great AJ Brown was this year, I get Alshon vibes with him. I could see him having another good season next year, but I think the wall could come sooner than later. He had some injury concerns in Tennessee and was hobbled a bit this past season. He ends up getting hurt next season and it’s a huge drop off from him to his backup. So yeah, I’m not opposed to taking a guy like JSN.

My only complaint about New Heights is how often Travis tries to shoe horn in his McConaughey "all right now” impression. Once I noticed it, it’s almost unbearable.

I used to think he was a d-bag, frat guy but his podcast makes him more likeable and funnier besides that one nitpick I have.

Interviewed 10 LB coaches but only one OC he didn’t know how to pronounce his last name lol.

I find podcasts to be really annoying.  I would much rather they sat down and wrote an article.  99% of podcast time is filler.

I kind of enjoy them. There is so much time I. The day driving, working out, etc where you can listen to them.

Which receiver though?

If I’m taking an offensive skill player in the first round, it can’t just be a "good” player. They need to be able to transform the offense from top 5 in the league into something more along the lines of an all-time great offense.

I just don’t see it at WR. Maybe Johnston? But he doesn’t really have the speed I want and then we are playing Smith out of the slot.

There really isn’t a WR I see putting this offense into the stratosphere. I’d go for a mid/low round guy with upside.

Gibbs is the guy I think *might* take our offense to another level. Not 100% convinced, but at least his skill set of speed, receiving and elusiveness is unique.

Gibbs in the slot might just be that missing piece

I don’t think they’re in the "we need a guy who will transform this offense and take it to new heights” as much as a guy who can help maintain the production we saw this season. I think they were in that stage in 2021 when they took DeVonta and that was everyone’s hope or even in 2020 with the Reagor pick. If you told me we’d be getting the same production in 2023 on offense as we saw in 2022 I’d sign up for that right now and everyone probably would. It’s hard to maintain that though, but I think continuing to build on it instead of just relying on the existing pieces is a good philosophy. I’m on board with Gibbs as well.

There isn't much for WR in the draft, but one that sticks out in the late rounds could be Matt Landers out of Arkansas. He ran a 4.37 at the combine, and has some pretty good measurable.

Arkansas didn't have much of a passing game since they were so dominate with the run, and KJ Jefferson isn't much of a passer, but he put up some pretty good numbers there. He's kind of a late bloomer and was a redshirt senior, played at Toledo and Georgia before he finished his career with Arkansas.

Angelo and I miss you wussbasket. What happened to the Eagles chat?

Living out here and hearing how Cardinals fans talk about them, you would think he was Patrick Mahomes, burrow, hurts. I sit there and I say to myself, I’d much rather trade away Kyler Murray for picks and he goes off, then pass on Caleb William, he goes off and you traded him then be stuck with Kyler Murray who might never be the same after this injury and wasn’t a hard worker before the injury. I think Kyler Murray is on the same path that Kirk cousins is. Where he’s going to have all these really cool statistics that are hollow because at the end of the day, you won’t win anything with him.

This is my slot guy.  Every time I watched them play the dude couldn’t be stopped

I think we can get the same production with minimal additions, assuming we stay healthy. We’re only going to lose two starters. One is at RB which is easy to fill. Isaac has Jurgens or a draft pick as a replacement. Shouldn’t be too much of a difference.
