Out of the "top 4” that would be my pick. I feel like Reich likes the size, the accuracy, and the pocket presence.

Yup thats my prediction as well.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I lean towards them taking Bryce Young.  Reich's ultimate FU you to Irsay who made it clear that is who the Colts wanted and they were probably in talks to trade up to #1 as well.

That’s an awesome trade for the bears. Get DJ moore, 9th overall pick, 61st, 2024 first and a 2025 second . If fields is actually good they have a ton of assets and ability to build that roster up

Feel like the Panthers slapped the Bears around a bit with this trade.   Seems like they sold for pretty cheap.

RTK, look at those two comments above.  Those two are alternatives.  They may also both be reasonable alternatives.

We made two trades to get there, remember

Yea, but I meant more so the second part of the trade since that is more comparable to what the Bears did

If I were Caserio I would wait for Stroud's name to be called at #1, then trade back from #2.  There's just no way I could pin my organization's hopes on Bryce Young for 5 years.

my best guess for top 9
Panthers - Stroud

Texans - Young

Colts (trade with ARI) - Levis

Cardinals - Tyree Wilson

Seahawks - Anderson Jr

Lions - Gonzalez

Raiders - Richardson

Falcons - Jalen Carter

Bears - Darnell Wright

Unsure what Eagles do here, I suppose Witherspoon. Maybe LVN

My guess-

1 CAR - Stroud

2 HOU - Young

3 LV (trade with AZ) - Richardson

4 IND - Levis

5 SEA - Anderson

6 DET - Gonzalez

7 AZ - Wilson

8 ATL - Carter

9 CHI - Jones

10 PHI - Witherspoon/Murphy

No way they take Stroud over Young

So the bears now have

DJ Moore

Equanimous St Brown

Chet Kmet

Chase Claypool

Now that’s not half bad

Love this trade for the Panthers. Moore is really good, but he's not Tyreek/AJ Brown level. They keep #39, only gave up 1 future 1st. Finally get a long-term QB worth a damn.

I don't see this ending well for the Bears, but Twitter tells me Poles is a genius 🤷‍♂️

Philadelphia gives Gannon Saints’ 2024 2nd rounder to move up and pilfer Jalen Carter

Never heard of her

I would, every time. He’s the best QB prospect in this draft IMO. But you may be right. They may draft the Oompa Loompa.

I think the Bears did a great job. First off they have 90 something million in cap space. So they’re gonna add in free agency to that roster. DJ Moore if you look at his stats and his analytics, he’s a top 15 wide receiver over the last three years. They have wide receivers of Mooney, moore and Claypool for an entire year with Justin Fields is immensely better than what they had last year.

you have the ninth pick in the draft this year. Next year you’re gonna have 2 first round picks. I’m guessing Carolina since they have  no weapons on offense right now with foreman a free agent and no wide receivers with moore gone. That rookie is going to struggle. So that pick might be a top five pick in a better draft next year due to poor talent around him and a mediocre to below average oline.

Add on if Justin Fields flops in 2023 you now have the potential to get Caleb Williams because you’re gonna likely have two very high first round picks if that happens. And he’s a generational type talent. Along with you have a second round pick you got back because you lost it in the Claypool trade this year. And one in 2025.

In this scenario I'm giving Seattle whatever they want for Will Anderson.

With how bad Seattle’s defenses I have a hard time believing they would move out of that pick unless you severely overpaid. I know they said they would still want a quarterback, but I don’t think they necessarily have to go get a quarterback.

I don’t think this trade happens for Stroud. You don’t make this leap if you think there’s 2-3 guys at the top of the draft worth the #1 overall pick… you make this trade if you think there’s 1 single guy you can’t miss out on.

People who have Stroud over Young have it because of size concerns or athleticism preference. People who have Young over Stroud have it because they believe he’s so generational the size concerns don’t matter.

This trade to me indicates Carolina is in the latter group.

1. The minds behind their passing game are Luke Getsy, Andrew Janocko, and Tyke Tolbert. Organizational malpractice in this situation.

2. Poles, the next great NFL GM according to Twitter, essentially wasted 2022 for Fields by surrounding him with almost nothing at OL and WR and giving him a defensive HC.

3. They traded essentially a 1st round pick for Chase Claypool.

4. Regarding the bolded quote, I'm sure this was a galaxy-brained idea that Poles considered, but come on -- whoever is picking #1 next year will likely need a QB. So this all goes to crap.

It's Fields or bust.

Texans winning that one meaningless game just completely changed the Bears franchise drastically

I need an Ohio QB to prove to me they are actually good before drafting one #1

Trading Jalen Hurts is not a reasonable alternative.  You just continue to make yourself look foolish when you continue to argue for it.

I think they’ve set themselves up to profit over busting out though, as we did this year if  hurts didn’t work out

If Fields busts, they’ll have a top draft pick AND it’s unlikely Carolina will have a great season with a rookie QB, giving them huge ammo to move up in what is considered a better QB draft

1. That points valid but I’m least giving Justin Fields and those guys the requisite weapons to make that passing game good. I can always fire those guys after the year if need be. DJ Moore has put up numbers with shittier quarterbacks then Justin Fields. And coaches that are just as bad. I pair him with Mooney. I actually legitimately have two good wide receivers.

2. And he has 90 million to fix his mistakes this off-season and correct the problem he did last year. Add on Carolina might be one of the worst teams this year. Go look at that roster. I don’t give a crap who they have a quarterback. they have no talent on offense with a rookie Qb behind a oline thats bottom half in the league. There a defense may be mediocre. They might have a top ten pick next year because of Carolina very good  and might be top 5. Might have 9 this year, top 10 pick next year and moore  plus two second rounders in the deal. And if fields sucks might have two top 10 picks in 2024

3. The claypool trade means nothing in terms of this trade. It was a dumb trade by the bears then but that has nothing to do with what they got in this trade. Howie made a great trade for CJGJ. Then traded for Robert Quinn which wound up being a lousy trade. Even howie who makes some great deals has made bad ones.

4. You’re assuming Carolina pick has no chance to be the no. 1 overall pick. Go look real hard at that roster and tell me a rookie quarterback with a below average to bad offensive line, no wide receivers, very little talent running back as foreman is a free agent and a mediocre to below average Defense that Carolina isn’t in the bottom 10 in the league? So if fields is awful, bears might be bad enough for it and Carolina also in the mix. Gives you two shots at it. Furthermore even if it’s not Caleb Williams they are setting up with potentially 2 top 10 picks where they can trade for a Qb in the draft or if one becomes available. And if Justin Fields works out, you’re going to have your first round pick and Carolina, which is likely going to be high (Carolina). So you’re going to be able to add even more to that roster.

Let me just put this out there Carolina last year on defense was 25th in dvoa. They don’t have moore at wr so it’s Marshall, shenault and shi smith at wr. Their tight ends also haven’t shown anything in tommy tremble and Ian thomas. Foreman is a free agent. And their oline is not that good.

I don’t think it hurt Houston much though. Hypothetically they may get CJ Stroud either way
