I don’t think it hurt Houston much though. Hypothetically they may get CJ Stroud either way

Not so much it hurting Houston, but more so that they just played a vital role in helping Chicago rebuild into being a potential top team in a year or two or three

Now the Panthers need a WR.  Think the Eagles contact Frank about Quez?  He can't replace DJ Moore but for a mid-round pick he would give the new QB a deep threat.

Frank Reich you wheelin dealin SOB

Two bad franchises making a big trade. I’d put my money on both coming out as losers when it’s all said and done.

Sure. Frank offers a case of Yuengling. Howie accepts, of course

Colts pick 4th. I think what this means is the 3rd overall pick becomes an absolute goldmine. Irsay has to make a power play here to not get absolutely screwed out of this draft

I think the Bears did a great job. First off they have 90 something million in cap space. So they’re gonna add in free agency to that roster. DJ Moore if you look at his stats and his analytics, he’s a top 15 wide receiver over the last three years. They have wide receivers of Mooney, moore and Claypool for an entire year with Justin Fields is immensely better than what they had last year.

you have the ninth pick in the draft this year. Next year you’re gonna have 2 first round picks. I’m guessing Carolina since they have  no weapons on offense right now with foreman a free agent and no wide receivers with moore gone. That rookie is going to struggle. So that pick might be a top five pick in a better draft next year due to poor talent around him and a mediocre to below average oline.

Add on if Justin Fields flops in 2023 you now have the potential to get Caleb Williams because you’re gonna likely have two very high first round picks if that happens. And he’s a generational type talent. Along with you have a second round pick you got back because you lost it in the Claypool trade this year. And one in 2025.

This question is going to drive RTK crazy … does it make sense for Howie to offer the following trade to the Bears?

Bears get Hurts

============

Eagles get Fields, plus

pick #9 in the 2023 Draft, plus

pick #55 in the 2023 Draft, plus

pick #61 in the 2023 Draft, plus

2024 First Round pick, plus

2024 Second Round pick

Oh there’s definitely a chance it backfires on both organizations. Frankly i rather be in the bears shoes than the panthers. That panthers team lacks talent all over the place. You’re bringing a quarterback to a roster that has nothing at wide receiver. Your best running back is a free agent and probably is going to leave. Your offensive line is bottom half of the league and has been bottom half in the league for about four years now. And your defense was bottom third in the league in Dvoa. That team even with their franchise rookie Qb might just be worse next year.

I look at it this way, at least the Bears have optionality if fields doesn’t work out and if he does if you don’t F up those picks you can build up the team up especially with 90 mil in cap space. Carolina gets that quarterback that might get the same  treatment darnold had with the jets his first couple years in the league due to severe lack of talent around him.  My personal opinion I really don’t love this quarterback class. So i rather be in the bears spot potentially holding their first and Carolina’s next year. Carolina might legit find themselves in the top 5 again next year and that ultimately benefits the bears.

Add on got 2 seconds and DJ moore who with less talented QBs has managed to finish 28th (2022), 11th (2021), 12th(2020) and 13th (2019) in receiving yards. That was with darnold, oj walker, Kyle Allen, broken down cam Newton, will grier, bridgewater and baker. I don’t even love Justin Fields, but I can tell you he’s likely better than any of those quarterbacks he’s played with the last four years.

I’m not trading hurts unless i got just something absolutely ridiculous. but I’d change your offer to this it’s closer to ridiculous but still a no

#9 in 2023 draft,

#55 in 2023 draft,

#61 in 2023 draft,

2024 Carolina first round pick,

2024 bears first round pick,

2025 carolina/bears which ever is higher 2nd rounder.

Trading Jalen Hurts is not a reasonable alternative.  You just continue to make yourself look foolish when you continue to argue for it.

You continue to show your massive ignorance.  I am not "arguing for it.”  I am illuminating it as an alternative worth discussing.  You are looking at this from an either/or closed mind set.  I’m looking at it from a both/and exploration of all the alternatives open mind.

Banks pro comp= Darby. Interesting

Have the bears ever had a good qb?

Edit - My god, how could I forget Smokin Jay Cutler

Interesting suggestion.  Interesting answer too.

Why trade a guy that just scored 4 tds in a Super Bowl year two for a Fields or a Stroud that will never even play in a Super Bowl period 🤣🤣

You forgot the part where AJ Brown demands a trade because he doesn't want to play for us anymore.

I wouldn’t call cutler great but in terms of bears history of the last 30 years I’d consider him "good” in terms of all the other bears Qbs lol.

Cardinals should deal that pick cause they need a shitload of things like almost an entirely mew oline and a ton on defense. Plus no murray for like half or 3/4ths of the season. Imo they are likely the worst team next year. I’d just stockpile a ton of picks to build and if I’m the worst team next year i can then trade murray or trade the no. 1 pick. Could rebuild that team really well if they don’t F it up. Knowing the cardinals they’ll F it up.

I think there’s always a price someone is willing to sell for. Mahomes might be the closest to there’s not enough picks in this world for the chiefs to do it. I’m never against doing something like that but you’d have to get a completely insane offer. I don’t think you’d ever see it

The Colts shouldn't go QB in this draft. They should take Will Anderson and just cut or trade every player on the roster 30 and older, load up on picks and cap room for 2024 and tank for Caleb Williams. Then have a bunch of picks to add players around him.

There are lots of answers to that question.  Here is one possible answer.

(1) As someone said here, Fields as the Eagles QB probably plays at a Pro Bowl Level

(2) With picks #9 and #10 you can double dip with Gonzalez and Witherspoon.  CB issues solved

(3) With pick #30 you have a plethora of BPA choices that happen to match current positions of need.

(4) You have picks #55, #61 and #62 at the end of the Second Round.  Quite possibly three more starters.

(5) You have three First Round and three Second Round picks in the 2024 Draft … further reloading ammunition, with the successor at QB to Fields probably being one of those picks.

(6) Cap problems are gone.

At that point I’d be tanking for Caleb Williams

I didn’t forget it.  Howie can swing a value for value trade if AJ throws a hissy.  Lots of teams would love to have AJ.
