Winner winner, chicken dinner. My first overall A+ this year.

Stud CB, Donald-lite, bendiest EDGE in the class, slot/KR/PR extraordinaire, bell cow, solid G prospect, and a nice backup to groom…see ya Book.

3 immediate starters, 2 big rotational pieces, and 2 developmental guys.

Funny, mine isn't that far off

Slay alone isn't getting you to 6 though.

If that’s really the case then I wouldn’t do it. If anything I’d probably ask for a 4 or 5 back as well.

Interesting lengthy interview with Joe Banner.  He addresses the Eagles specifically about 27 minutes into it, but the whole interview is good.  He predicted the Bears trade and the timeline, but overstated the predicted return a little bit.

The Eagles portions were, he figures Hurts will push for a short term deal while the Eagles want a longer deal (discusses the cap savings possible on a longer deal), figures Howie will focus on OL and DL, let Sanders walk and draft a RB in the middle rounds.

I'm thinking it would cost a 2nd plus, to get to 6. Slays value wouldn't be that.

Gonna have to listen to it later. I’m guessing his rationale for hurts wanting a shorter deal is the market keeps getting reset so he doesn’t want to lock into what the market is today whereas 3 years from now it might be considered way below market value.

If you want to move up to 6 the point value chart says that 10 and 30 should be good enough to do so.  Maybe get a late round pick back as part of it too.

I’m not interested at staying at 10 if we dont get Carter; We just don’t have enough picks. But to move down to 15 and still get Witherspoon would be a dream

I agree but the Lions are in win now mode. If they don’t make the playoffs this season, both the coach and GM are probably gone. Getting Slay would guarantee them at least one position in the secondary would be above average to good for the next two seasons. All they’re doing is moving back 4 spots. They’ll still be able to get a day 1 starter at 10. If I was them, I’d probably do it.

That would be a horrible trade.

Better off trading a player (Slay) for that type of trade up.

Is there a reason Carter’s sack totals were never that high? Any hardcore Georgia fans here?

There was a report that the bears viewed DJ Moore as superior to a future first round pick, so his return guess is pretty close.

4 years younger than Hargrave

If im correct they would designate the trade as a post june 1st deal which would save them about 17 mill this year.

You can’t designate trades post June 1st

Washington keeps their stud DT let’s see if the Eagles keep theirs.

Hope not.

Payne got more than 20M. Hargrave getting that gives us a 3rd to avoid giving a 30 year old DT 20M.

Why risk missing out on him?

You max out at 4 comp picks, so they could keep Hargrave and still get back multiple 3rds depending on what else happens in FA.

Georgia runs a heavy Dline rotation. For example, Kelee Ringo played 710 snaps. Jalen Carter played 308.

I don’t think he’s as valuable a can’t miss as the 10th overall pick is in trade asset. If we move down into the 20’s, the CB’s available there will be commensurate in combination with the potential 2024 1st round pick we get in return (or maybe multiple day 2 picks)

Unless it’s for a QB with a very high ceiling, not a chance poopy pants

Georgia plays the run on the way to the pass.

Same story for Trayvon Walker last year.

Not a hardcore UGA fan but big time college football fan and love comparing players throughout the season and draft process.  It's not just sacks, it's everything combined.

Jalen Carter  over 3 years.  44 tackles, 6 sacks, 18.5 TFL

Calijah Kancey over 3 years.  52 tackles, 16 sacks, 34.5 TFL

Lukas Van Ness over 2 years.  34 tackles, 9 sacks, 19 TFL

Not saying Van Ness or Kancey are better players by any means but I just don't see any of the top player in the draft kind of hype wtih Carter...at all.  He's a strong dude and has made a few highlight plays throwing the blocker to the side or lifting a QB with one arm but those few and far between plays don't impress me.

Another thing, the Eagles played 1,096 defensive snaps in 2022.  Over 3 years at UGA, Carter played a total of 1,075 snaps, topping out at 396.

To put that in persepctive, Fletcher Cox's lowest snap count in the NFL was his rookie year when he played 509 snaps.  He had 2 seasons with over 900 snaps (926, 983), 2 over 800 snaps (885, 830), 5 over 700 (772, 799, 746, 748, 713) and 1 season at 607.

I've seen nothing from Carter that tells me he's ready to play extended snaps.  IMO, he actually looked gassed half the time playing those snaps. I want nothing to do with Carter.

Marquette King is still booming 60yd punts in the XFL. How did we end up with the garbage we have at punter?

been thinking that too and he's been doing it every week so far.

The rationale that is perpetuated is that Georgia's scheme mandates their D-Line to focus on gap assignments, while blitzers rack up sacks (Dean, Smith, etc.)

At least that's what they said about Walker.
