On one hand RBs are dime a dozen and on the other, a truly elite RB could win us games by controlling clock. Sanders here, Gainwell there wasn’t enough in the end. This line + great RB would be dangerous.

I would like a RB to shoulder the load, not Hurts - especially at 50 mil/year.

Games like the Chicago one are outrageous and he should never have that many designed carries. But For Hurts to continue to be successful, defenses need to be threatened by his ability to run. And for that we need to keep running him.

I understand the injury issue and we should be very careful with him, but if Hurts isn’t running the football consistently then he’s not going to be worth the money we give him. That’s just the reality of a dual threat QB. He needs the balance for both to be optimal. As good as he has becoming at throwing, it is in large part because other teams don’t know what to do with their safeties/ILBs due to his running ability; that’s an extraordinary advantage for us

Not sure if everyone has tried or even knows about "Dark Mode" (which is a dark version of our theme), but if you haven't seen it or don't know about it, try it out and let me know what you think of it.

To switch to it, scroll to the very bottom of the board and click where it says "Theme", then click 'Eagles Dark Mode'. From there, you'll either see 'Change Mode' or maybe a little icon of a half filled in circle. Click that to go from Light Mode to Dark Mode.

Just another option for you to view the board with.

I think the dark mode theme works pretty well, although I normally use the Dark Reader browser plugin so I'm used to a much darker appearance. I don't know if there are any options for changing the little toolbar above the area you type your posts out to a dark mode as well. That would be the only thing I'd change if it's possible.

I refuse.  This makes me think of the all-black jerseys.  Get rid of 'Eagles Dark Mode' and make an "Eagles Kelly Green Mode"...

Remember when we were told it was coming in 2022... but then the Eagles screwed up, and yet somehow managed to get the new black helmets approved?   Good times...

Kelly Green at night would be an eye sore

Looks like the Eagles are promoting Brian Johnson to offensive coordinator.  Good move, imo.

Anyone find where his teams stacked up at College?  I know he had Kyle Trask looking like Peyton Manning at UF and also had Dak in his time at Miss St

Need a twitchy, athletic guy like Wes Welker for the slot.  Both DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown work quite well at stretching the field vertically.  I think the Eagles need a slot guy to challenge the defense from sideline to sideline and short spaces.

That's whay I suggest Carter or the long shot of Covey getting rocked up.  Covey has the perfect skillset for slot WR he's just so damn light.  I'm also only suggesting him because I think FA dollars and draft picks need to be spent on D, OL, RB.  WR would be a luxury pick given the rest of the needs.

Would really prefer an experienced DC for the open position.  Someone who can come in with a plan and handle all the responsibilities right out of the gate.  Having a young, first time DC just doesn't seem like the right move with a roster ready to compete.  Yeah, maybe we could strike gold with one of the younger candidates but we could also strike out.

Do we know that Mayo is for sure off the table?

He's apparently turned down jobs, but I'd like the Eagles to at least ask him. This is an attractive job.

From reports I've read, it sounds like he has the NE HC job waiting for him once BB retires.  I would love him here but who knows what NE has said to him or put in his contract to stay.

Weren't they saying that about McDaniels for years?

If the player is worth the contract he’s worth the contract. Hypothetically if the Steelers said we want to deal you TJ watt for pick 30 you think howie cares it cost pick 30 and that contract for 3 cheap years? I highly doubt it. Again it depends on who the player is and has to be a premium position. Also under the assumption he’s good for 3 cheap years with pick 30. So you have that risk. Would you rather have a known stud with pick 30 in a trade or risk of the unknown but he is cheap. You are looking at just the value of the money in contract not how good/great the player is immediately and if young the foreseeable future. Heck even when reid was here we dealt a similar pick for Jason peters cause it was a premium position and a player they coveted due to being good/great

That said i don’t think it’s very likely but i don’t rule it out entirely either.

You keep ignoring the opportunity costs - namely the other players you could have with the cost delta

the ONLY position where that could make sense is QB or maybe OT

I guess it’s like they say, "better to go out on top”.   SMH.  lol

In all seriousness, both teams played on the same turf.  One team was ready and/or adjusted accordingly.   The other team didn’t.

We had a legit trustworthy 1, we possibly seal that game on Sunday.

With the big turnover on the Oline, a change to a 3-4 may be timely. Why is Wade Phillips still unenployed? He’s had 20(!) seasons of top 10 yardage defenses, that’s incredible. Won the SB as Denver’s DC in 2015, made the SB again as LAR’s DC (lost 13-3 to NE, definitely not his fault).

He’s currently coaching in the XFL, he’s not retired

Disagree a pass rusher fits that too. If you are willing to pay hargrave but can get a guy who’s younger and is better that fits to. It’s worth the investment for a top tier pass rusher especially interior pass rusher. If he’s a great starter at a premium position it’s worth the value. Hence aj brown. Hence Jason peters.

you are ignoring the fact just cause you draft a player and he’s cheaper doesnt mean he pans out and is good. He could be a complete bust and you still paying him first round money. So you could waste the pick and get nothing out of it for those 3 cheaper years.

I look at it this way, would you rather have AJ Brown and have to pay him knowing you gave up the 17th overall pick or would you rather take the risk of drafting another wide receiver, who might not pan and is cheaper for three years, but might never been nearly as good as AJ Brown? I’d much rather have AJ Brown as a proven commodity for the next what 7-8 years, knowing that he is a great player. Even if that means I have to pay them a substantial contract and the pick. Additionally, I don’t think the salary cap is going to prevent him from making that move if it’s someone he wants like a pass rushing DT. He will be able to manipulate the cap in order to make that happen. Whether or not he wants to give a pick 30 it is completely different. Because it probably would have to be a really great player like AJ Brown for him to want to do it.

Not sure if it’s possible to make the lettering slightly brighter but that could help, imo.

When it was slightly brighter, it was really harsh on the eyes, so we had it toned down to what's there.

Zach Charbonnett in RD3.

Or Sean tucker if we’re that late. But if Gibbs is there at 30 it’s tough to pass up.

I’m getting used to it.  The brightness is fine during "live” typing - just gets darker once posted and reading posts.  Seems fine after a while though. 👍

It’ll take some time to get used to the dark mode, but it’s fine.

Kelce is a 1st ballot HOFer.  So no, Goedert is not there yet.

As far as being on a "Kittle” level, he’s close and can get even closer if he continues to get better, stay healthy, etc

Not sure he will get better.  He's 28 and going into year 6 now.  Maybe he will but I think what you see is what you get.

He's a top 5 TE just not better than those other 2.

There's also a moon (?) icon near the top of the page that I used to switch.

Yeah, that's the half filled in circle that I mentioned.

Charbonnett is nice, has always looked a little Demarco Murray-ish to me though. Runs upright.

Spears just pops off the screen though. Dude is quick as hell and will be nasty as a pass catcher in the NFL. Reminds me of Alvin Kamara.

Just watch both back to back and see the difference.

If you want that buy them in free agency and keep the pick
