Big ask paying him 15M/Y.

He needs to be John Henderson for me to be happy with the pick.

As a rookie, Henderson had 54 tackles,6.5 sacks, 10 TFL, 1 FF, 2 FR and 6 batted passes.  THAT is an impact rookie at DT. He ended his career with 29 sacks, 60 TFL, 8 FF, 6 FR and a ridiculous 46 batted passes.

...Then went on to average 2.5 sacks the rest of his career...

I bet someone overpays for him and it’s more than you expect. That’s how FA works. See how true the reports a couple teams saying they had him as the highest graded free agent guard

I don't care about the rookie impact.   I care about the overall impact.  Year 1 is in the books... basically zero impact.  It is what it is.  But now he needs to start producing impact.

If he is there at 30 it would be very hard to pass him up

That technique is very poor.

Davis seems a little too happy go lucky kind of guy. I want to see a mean streak out of him. A guy that big and that athletic needs to be violent.

Taking on balloon mortgages was one of the major contributing factors to the severity of the Housing Bubble crash.  The financial wherewithal of the home buyers was not sufficient to justify the purchase with a conventional mortgage.  Then they had to give up the house when the balloon mortgage payment came due.  The same pattern happens in these NFL contracts.  When the player and the team part company, the void years balloon comes due and gets accelerated into the current year. The current Eagles Dead Cap amount clearly destabilizes the Normal functioning of the GM.  He is given a budget by the NFL, but that budget amount has to be reduced by the accelerated ballon mortgage amounts.  It creates a boom and bust landscape.

There's pretty much no correlation between the issues causing the housing crash and dead money being structured into the NFL contracts. Unless if we think that they're going to decrease revenue YoY and the cap never increases. The NFLPA is also never going to agree to it because it will mean a decrease to the APY of the contracts. The only way to maybe change it is if all contracts are fully guaranteed.

The Texans and Raiders are expected to pursue 49ers free agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, according to ESPN. Both teams are expected to pursue quarterbacks in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Garoppolo is a veteran with experience playing at a high level and mentoring young quarterbacks.

Interesting rumor.  Texans were also slated to grab a QB high in the draft, too.  Would they do both?

But he was disruptive.  The batted passes are huge IMO.

Can we hire somebody to inflict some emotional damage to him?

The Eagles just re-signed everyone.

This is my biggest concern too. Need him to find that "edge". Hopefully Nakobe can push his buttons.

I'm guessing this was discussed here, too.  Thielen would have to take a very team friendly deal.  We'd be stacked at receiver.

One of the things that has come out is that he needs to grow up and mature. Not that he's a bad guy or anything, it's just that he's like a big doofy kid. He will eventually get there.

Agreed.   He did an interview during the season and one of his responses was he was just happy to be on the team and learning from veterans. I know not everyone has that dog in them but I’d like to see him realize he can be a bully.

3 minutes in and Howie is asleep at the wheel.

No, but Desai can show him a few graphs

I would put his over under at $10 million a year.

So we are officially in Tatergeddon, which was the official name of the start of free agency on the old boards for many years. Not sure if I'm remembering the name  correctly though.

What if he is just has a goofy personality, who gives a F. Not everyone is Kobe and must kill their opponent

It'd be funny because for years we were bare at WR and now we have a great WR room

Yep, who cares as long as he isn't getting his Michael Phelps on

He could.  Jerome Brown was a big kid but knew how to get nasty on the field.
