LMAO, an hour and 45 mins into the offseason and people are already posting stuff like this.

So if Slay gets traded, it would add another $21.265 million in dead cap but they'd end up netting around a $5 million savings due to his cap figure being $26 million for 2023?

100%. If Tyree Wilson is there, I could definitely see him as the pick. He's raw, but him and Hutchinson could be deadly.

If Carter falls to them i wonder if they make that move. I think they take the chance on him.

Jimmy G is heading to the Raiders

I’d trade back from 10 to 13-15 if someone is willing to move up. I think there’s value from 10-22 in this draft where you get some extra picks and still a good player that’s close to being ranked the same.

I don't trade down with Gonzalez/Witherspoon on the board. Trade out of 30 into R2 and accumulate a little that way.

Thanks for the insight. However, you failed to address that we have the best O in the NFC which will absolutely put them at the top of favorites to win the conference again. A top offense with top-15ish defense can (and has) gotten it done. You can go back to lurking now.

We pushed chips into last year, so we have to be conservative this year. Doesn't mean we can't win the SB, just means we'll need more rookies/unproven players to step up.

thats my understanding.

I know Howie has this dead cap by design, and it works, and is nothing to worry about. However, I doubt that he planned on an extra 21.264 from a Slay trade. So I really doubt it happens.

Very possible...if he makes it past Seattle.

No shocker there...or on this board. #swag

Agreed.  The drop off from Gonzalez/Witherspon to Banks is not large.  Trade back and get Deonte Banks late in the 1st Round, and with the added draft capital pick take Emmanuel Forbes in the late 2nd Round.

I’ve thought since the end of the season there was always a regression coming in defense just cause there’s a lot of guys as FA and not likely signing them all back. Sucks but that reality. Plus hard to have 70 sacks in back to back years. That said i think there’s gonna be a boatload of young players playing on defense and we have a shot to be really good by year’s end if they improve and progress. Might be some growing pains that long term pay off.

i think the offense likely improves next year which helps make up for some of the regression on defense.

There are a lot of players who can make adequate replacements for ours, at a much cheaper cost. We will plug any holes just fine. FA pool is deep at our potential positions of need. And where it is not, the draft is talented.

I’m high on Witherspoon. Said that right after the Super Bowl he was my favorite corner in the draft. However i am not sure the eagles think he’s in the same class as guys like Lattimore, horn, surtain and sauce that they really liked. I think they are more likely to cash in on that value of both being there

Man, Javon got PAID!  4 years / $84m!?  On that D-line?  Good grief, they are looking to buy that super bowl.

Now.  Who's playing QB for the 9ers?  Carson Wentz?

Eagles fans are giving up on the season. Imagine being a Raiders fan and moving on from Carr for nothing to do this for the next three years.

Be butt hurt.

I dont care

I’m willing to bet hargrave plays well but doesn’t live up to the expectations that come with 21 mil per year. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s good but i don’t think he’s fletcher Cox in his prime great to get that type of money.

We will see after the Witherspoon pro day. But right now it feels like the athleticism of Gonzalez makes him the cream of the crop.

Witherspoon's workout will help determine if he is up there with him. Or if he is on the level of Banks and Porter.

Obviously they are going to lose some players but my point is this. It's an hour and 45 minutes into free agency and this dude is already acting like the defense will be bad. It's way too early to make a statement like that. People thought WR was going to be a weakness of this team until the night of the draft and we all saw how quickly that changed. People were scared to death about CB2 after the draft myself included and look what happened there. People love to make dramatic and over the top statements early in the offseason and it's hilarious.

well, hes getting older. So... hes not going to be piling up those kind of sacks forever.

So happy we didn't hire McDaniels. Imagine letting Carr walk so you can make Jimmy G your starting QB.

Why? That's a massive contract, and everyone and their mother knew he wasn't coming back here. The Niners took a strength and made it a little stronger. They still don't have a QB.

Brady sighting in California.

I was on the i hate mcdaniels and he got two head coaching jobs thanks to Brady. I still feel that way. The raiders in that division aren’t going anywhere with Jimmy G. That’s if Jimmy G actually stays healthy

good news for Jimmy the porn convention is in Vegas so he’ll have a ton of those women to go on a date with
