You can't sign big contracts in FA every year. This is the year we sit out. If we're disciplined this year, next year we'll have cap space in a much better FA class.

How do you know that next year will be a better FA class? You a psychic?

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Guess ITB struck out on their only FA guess

Everyone's focusing on defense, the Eagles may just sign a RB as their first outside signing.

I always wanted to let Hargrave walk anyway, but you all do realize that THIS is actually the year the cap catches up with Howie, right?

They have the most dead money in the league wrapped up from their prior bad decisions (the ones we said Howie made magically go away because the cap doesn't matter with him) and will be losing impact starters while not being active in tier 1 FA.  That's kind of proof that the cap actually is real and does matter.

They wouldn’t have this problem if Hurts weren't in line for top 5 qb money and the team didn't get great performances from nearly every free agent howie signed or acquired over the last year.

Obviously the cap is real, but are we really crying a river over not bringing back epps, edwards and dillard? Sure, it stings to lose Hargrave, but do we keep Williams and Davis on the bench forever?

Maybe wait and see how the season goes next year before you throw howie under the bus?

It was a fluid situation

Jimmie Ward to the Texans. Marcus Davenport to the Vikings

We got deeper in it when covid happened. that had to have thrown off all of his calculations when the cap stopped increasing.

We can still sign impact starters. There are numerous available, and likely to still be some in round 2 of free agency.

This is generally how people get in financial trouble: decisions are made on projections which are disrupted by a black swan.

I’m a big fan of Howie, I think he’s the best GM in the NFL, but at some point we need to take the pain and stop kicking the can down the road.

RIP the dream

Yeah, that's too much IMO.

Seahawks possibly less likely to take Carter now.

Yeah... I think this year may be it.

Give Hurts his big money. But dont do too much restructuring.

Sign a couple band aid starters. Void years will be necessary, but keep it small.

With all the draft picks we have in the next 2 years, its going to help a lot to keep costs down on the roster and cool it a bit on the dead money he is creating.

I dont think he will stop kicking the can. It is a great strategy. Im fine with betting on another pandemic not happening. Thats a once in a lifetime event, or even more rare than that really....

But we can back off a little to get it under control again. And actually start having a nice chunk of cap space in another year or 2.

noooooooooo, my man Elliss...

I don’t think Cox is in play with the money going around to DT’s

3/51 isn't bad for him.

My God. He will fall to us!

17M/Y sounds right for Jones. Thought he could push 20.

Not 20 mil per. Didn't think he'd get that either.

Theres one last DT I really know nothing about but seems intriguing. Demarcus Walker from Tennessee. Wonder if he will be affordable.

He's got the off the field issue.

Not. At. All

Of course. If he didn't, he wouldn't be in the discussion for the Eagles.

I don't think he's going to be in discussion with our pick either is my point.
