Those 5 to 6 weeks will be great until Penny gets put on IR

Time will tell.  Could be the environment; Chickens can't keep any RBs healthy.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Can't see Penny making a ton.  Gainwell, Penny, Sermon, and a mid-late round pick isn't bad.  Probably need someone else who can catch out of the backfield

More like Rashaad dollars am I right.

Rashaad Loonies for our Canadian friends

I like Penny a lot... when he's healthy.

I was tossing and turning the other night (probably something to do with Brett Toth) and Penny is the player I thought would be our first signing. I guess I'm not only the 2022 EMB Master of the Draft Winner, but I have the lead on Free Agency winner, too!

Exactly. His career high in attempts is 119 in one season. He's not going to be anywhere near the league leading rusher.

He’s gonna need like 7 straight 200 yard rushing games to start the season. So that when he gets hurt in week 8 and placed on IR he has a chance to hold onto the rushing lead for the final 10 games

He’s pretty sick, again if healthy

And he just barely made this chart with 337 attempts. Probably why they picked a weird number like 329.

I’m fine if they signed him with minimal guaranteed money and didn’t a bunch of voidable years. However i don’t expect a guy who has only had 11 starts in 4 years and played in 42% of games since his rookie season to stay health

Gainwell is a skilled receiver, but I still see him as the balanced back in the rotation.  I'd like to see someone that can motion out of the back field, line up out wide, and either routinely dust a LB or at least hold the interest and coverage of a CB.  And that same someone should be elusive enough to be targeted in the screen game...so that our entire screen game doesn't have to revolve around Dallas Goedert rumbling downfield.  Goedert is good at it, don't get me wrong, but a RB with high end quicks on a well executed screen is going to be 5-7 yards downfield without contact before Goedert even gets going.

Just landed. Really like the Penny addition. I mentioned him a week or two ago as someone who would add something to the Eagles offense. He’s a legit home run hitter. Just needs to stay healthy.

I'm fine with him on paper as the veteran insurance.

But from a cap standpoint...he really only deserves to be on a dirt cheap 1 year showcase deal for the priviledge of playing behind this OL.  Anything that involves obligations beyond this year isn't a good idea.

Stoked about any move that stops us from using Gainwell on 3rd and short runs constantly

Why? Just why

Cheap option. Pair him with Gainwell, Sermon, and a rookie and you have a very nice RBBC.

Very true. And his Oline is WAY better here.

Gainwell can catch. He proved that in college.

Sanders gone.

Ryan Matthews vibes with the inability to stay healthy.  I'd have to think that they are still planning to get a RB in the draft, hopefully no later than the 3rd round.

:worthy:

Coming off a Super Bowl Season there will always be big changes.   I still believe in our core group that we will not have a hangover or take a huge step back.   But it seems we will be rebuilding the Defense.   Still a lot of time but I'm not upset about the players leaving.   This is probably their best shot to get these contracts coming off a Super Bowl.   I'm happy for them that they can generate more for their families.   Good Luck to them but we will be fine.

There’s also the Stoutland factor. 0% chance the team that sells the farm for Miles will get 2022’s production. Penny, on the other hand, could be in for one of those years.

Signs point to no

I'll believe it when I see it. He had one ok year 2 years ago, and it was half of one season and really only 4 games.

Well, we’re bringing him in to split time with Gainwell and probably a rookie. If he ends up with 75-150 Carries at that chart’s production? A 3-5m$ contract would be a big win for us

Rashaad Penny is "fine" if he came VERY cheap and if they will be making a second, agile/elusive addition to the backfield.

Penny signed for $5.75M on a one year deal last season.  He's not coming VERY cheap.

He also was hurt...again, to end the year.

Penny as depth is a good move. He probably won't stay healthy, but if he does, lookout. He could average 6.5 behind this line.

The longer it takes to see the numbers, the more team-friendly the deal.
