That's 8 guys out of 11 starting spots (plus Barnett).  We will see what happens at CB; they brought Nelson in for 2021 and Bradberry for 2022.  They'll likely bring in another CB at a moderate price as well as a draft pick.

LB will require a replacement for Edwards.  Dean will already replace White.

The defense is not decimated by any stretch.  They need depth, and safety is the biggest factor right now.

I really, really want to see Williams play a ton of snaps. I think he’s gonna play out of his mind. 
 

But…. I’d still trade up for Carter in a heartbeat. Keep that rotation strong

Could see a team like bears signing him as Montgomery is gone and they have a ton of cap space. And he’s a good compliment with Khalil herbert

Do we make the Super Bowl otherwise? Almost all good players are overpaid. The reason Hargrave wasn’t re-signed is because Jalen is getting paid. Either way, I’m OK overpaying for a player who can generate a pass rush up the middle

Solid, I mentioned him a few pages back as someone that is intriguing. That physical and his legs better be squeaky clean is all. I'd expect him and Sermon to battle for that bigger back role. Still need another in the draft. Hoping Boston comes back on a cheap deal too.

Same as Epps. Made a lot more plays early in the season. Then was pretty invisible. I had no idea he ended up with over 100 tackles again.

Nah.  Decimated means 10% are gone.  The defense is getting gutted, like a house remodel, rip it down to the studs, start over.   Nothing surprising in that, honestly.  We all knew this was coming.

It's odd that people complained when Howie held on to vets too long like Jeffrey, Peters and Brooks, and now people are complaining when he is getting rid of aging players instead of overpaying them. 

I wouldnt have minded Penny and Sanders together. They are very similar in style. Either one in the backfield changes nothing about the offense- entire playbook is open as both can do the same things.
