Much prefer all defense picks in the first 3 rounds.  If those guys are around on day 3 then good.

Otherwise we’re fine there.

I’d prefer defense too, but if there’s no quality defensive players there at 61 or 62 whatever our 2nd is. & those two are available, I’m all about it.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Rather give Hurts a legit RB than another defensive player.

Gonzalez or Witherspoon

Two different players. Gonzalez higher ceiling, Witherspoon higher floor. That’s how I look at them. Gonzalez jumped up even with Witherspoon due to his combine. Witherspoon’s pro day will be vital. If their numbers are close, I then have to look at college production and tape, where I think Witherspoon wins.

it's not absurd, it's just unconventional.

No QB at all is unconventional.  There were decades where there were no QBs, or most teams had no QBs.

You're never paying a QB $50 million a year.  You're never tied to one player so tightly.

The major downside to replaceable QB is that the media is going to endlessly bash you for not having just one QB who is a "franchise QB" whatever that means.

Most times teams want that franchise QB.  And all of the franchise QBs cost the same, even if Mahomes is the best.  All the QBs getting resigned are expected to pay a record amount.

If you get a QB on a rookie deal he's cheap, and if you aren't pushing him into a "be a big star" spot over and over, so that he gets there, he's not going to cost you a lot of money if you bring him back, or maybe you just replace him, it really doesn't matter.   Not saying the Eagles should do this, but they already have Tyree Jackson who could be shifted back to QB,  Greg Ward, Britain Covey (high school so probably not),  could draft Dorian D-T, Malik Cunningham.  And look at QBs who are available.  Easton Stick, Cam Newton, Mariota, whoever is cheap at the particular moment.  Lynn Bowden.   D'eriq King is a good one.  There are a lot of running QBs coming out of college and have been for years and they sometimes get to play QB, sometimes they have to change positions and sometimes don't play in the NFL.

Brock Purdy got wins in the playoffs.

Yeah, let’s ditch Jalen and have Britain Covey, Tyree Jackson, and Greg Ward rotate at QB. You live in (and post from) an echo chamber of one. Do you ever notice that nobody really ever engages you in positive conversation when you post this same nonsense over and over? This thought process has as much merit as flat earth, the Loch Ness monster, or the Cowboys saying "this is OUR year.”

Gonzalez. I think he's gone before 10 however. Witherspoon might make it to 10.

Charbonnet has a shot of being there at 62. I’d be floored if Gibbs was.

I'm okay with 2/3 being defense as long as #10 is at defense. If there's no one there I'd rather trade down than pick up an OT. We don't really have the luxury to use a high pick on someone that (most likely) won't see playing time this year.

Random.

Didn’t realize Seumalo was only listed at 303. Thought he was at least 320. Looks way thicker than that. Jurgens is also listed at 303.

Don’t be disingenuous.

We also have Lane Johnson.

I doubt Gibbs will be there also

Signing Penny at that price is a no-brainer.

He'll be hurt by mid-year, but that's still why you just don't draft RB's high.

Bradberry on those terms isn't so bad either.  He'll earn his money for 2 years and will be a bit overpaid in year 3.  That's a nice, clean contract.

I would toy with Maddox/Blankenship at safety and aggressively still attacking CB in the draft.  Let the rookie play behind Slay/Bradberry inside as the #3 CB.  I have reservations about Blankenship turning and running in deep coverage though.

Yeah, no way

But I’m starting to wonder if the only 2 types of teams capable of winning a SB are teams with Patrick Mahomes and stacked teams with QBs on value contracts.

Yeah I'd get why you would wonder that.  Prior to Mabimes winning the Super Bowl the only teams to ever win a Super Bowl in the past were teams with QBs on rookie deals/value contracts.

People are getting just flatpur goofy here.

I saw Jake Elliot play in the charity softball games.  He has a good arm.

Feel like we need an additional 3rd rounder for a RB. Really like that Jets proposed trade of moving back to 13 and scooping their 3rd and others. Figure out which back is the best fit and take him there. I got a pretty long list but I definitely want one of the 3 down style backs. I'm out on the Spears and Achane type backs due to having Gainwell and Scott already in the fold.

Lol

2 of 5. Man, its hard using that Google thing.

"He missed 26 games over the last three seasons because of injury, never topping 10 games in any season during this stretch. He tore his ACL in 2019, while a calf issue slowed him down in 2021.”

Okay maybe not 4 times on IR, got me there. But are you going to argue that 26 MISSED games in 3 seasons isn’t a concern? Actually, at the time of that article, it may not have even included 2022 injury that ended his season.

I’ve got a new angle. Ultimate Chaos. Rodgers announces tomorrow he’s going to the Jets. A couple hours go by for all the hot takes as well as all the stupid ex Packer signings to play for NYJ. Tomorrow night Packers say "lol, no.”

Penny has a better YPA than Barry Sanders. Sorry dude, you’re just wrong.

I have no interest in Charbonnet in the first 3 rounds.

Gibbs, I do. I don’t want to beat the drum too much on him, but he’s one of the few players who might be able to significantly improve the offense. My comparison for him is Marshall Faulk. Obviously not as proven/good coming out of college, but he’s the same size, speed and skill set.

If we’re going to try to do the greatest show on turf thing, he’s the guy that might improve our offense from top 5 in the NFL to clearly the best in the NFL.

Leonard Weaver was better than Derek Henry too.

Yeah, no way. I have my doubts he makes it to us at #30.

And once you have a star QB you have a star QB.  Something like I'm suggesting is something that would work when you don't have a star QB.
