I mean he gave us 7 sacks last year. Doesn’t preclude them from taking another young guy, and gives a very young DT room a veteran presence.

Could always bring back one of the old geezers we added last year

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Yup. The Cox deal is probably one year low cap hit then 7 void years.

Kinda feels like the FO doesn't really have a plan or that it just didn't pan out the way that they had hoped.

I 100% think they didn’t expect bradberry to come back at that value and thought slay was willing to restructure and be here this year. Once bradberry signed back here i think slay was definitely gone once he wouldn’t restructure it was either bradberry or slay. They went with the young better long term implications with bradberry’s contract . Cox is back cause they needed a DT after hargrave left. They weren’t going into the draft with just Milton and Davis.

Why?

Need depth.  But that's more than I hoped.

We're gonna continue to f'in gut these guys next year with Cox

That doesn't explain the price tag

If we re-sign CGJ somehow then the cap is just a myth

I see this argument a lot, but a lot of those were clean-up sacks that probably should have went to someone else.

I absolutely did not want to start Davis & Williams. Thought would be a joke of an idea. Thank goodness the FO thought that way.

Not gonna lie, I’m happy to know the probability that Kelce, Cox, and Graham may all retire only wearing an Eagles uniform in their careers went up exponentially. Those are three guys I never want to see in other colors.

I’m guessing the $10 mil is not actually 10 mil against the cap next year. I’m guessing it’s more reasonable then that thanks to voidable years

I never understood the hate the last few years for Fletcher. Sure he's still getting paid, but at a premium position he continues to be disruptive. Probably one of the most double teamed players in the league. Not to mention he's one of the 4 core players and is a great leader for these young players.

Well the cap is a myth up to a certain point. I assume that we are going to hear of a slew of restructures here to explain these signings.

I’ve given up on the cap. I didn’t think we we even had room for Bradberry. And still no Lane restructure.

Was hoping to bring Suh back for less

Who were we replacing cox with? Gotta have someone there or some depth

Or more likely "up to” $10M.

Only one is Lane now that Slay is gone. It’s all a fugazi fugayzi a wazy and a woozy.

More than I'd of liked, but bringing Fletch back isn't the worst thing in the world. Gives us some depth.

Safety (CJGJ, Love, Johnson, whoever) and a cheap LB before the draft and we'll be in solid shape.

Gives us experience maybe more importantly. Davis needs a mentor.

Just rationalizing now. F it sign everyone.

I absolutely cannot believe people are complaining about this deal. Cox isn't the player he once was but he is still good. I would much rather give Cox one year at 10 million than Hargrave multiple years at 20 million per. I was hoping/thinking they could get Cox back around 6-8 million but it doesn't change the fact that going into the draft with Davis, Williams, and maybe a JAG for cheap would have been risky. It all starts up front with the DL for the Eagles defense and this is a solidifying movie for sure.

They had to have restructured Lane per one of the cap guys at OTC. They might have just not announced it yet.

If they bring back CJGJ I’m fine with what they’ve done. They need him back or at least someone like John Johnson to replace him. Frankly CJGJ needs to figure his crap out cause at some point if teams aren’t offering him what he expects and he just keeps waiting then he’s gonna wind up having teams eventually say F it and move on
