Wait why does that cancel? Are we limited on comp picks we can receive or am I missing something here?

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I remember a few days ago that so many people was convinced we were gonna go bargain bin on the defense since it's "useless" and we were gonna load up on offense.

It would have to be quite a pay cut. Like half. 10-12 a year.

Or the Eagles call Cox and tell him never mind

Next year we’re assuredly losing Cox, Kelce, Graham for good. If Slay somehow makes his way back on a 1 year deal, probably same. We will be right back to losing 3-4 starters again. These are pretty significant chunks year over year in terms of continuity. Kelce will leave the biggest void of them all.

It's the NFL. You're not bringing back 22 starters every year. You should want 2-3 new starters every year.

in fairness kelce and Cox we have legitimate long term replacements if they pan out to how high we drafted them.

Between this draft and next, tons of picks to try to have successors in place.

And, another free agency period as well.

We needed bandaids for these guys one way or the other. May as well be the same guy being the band aid for himself.

Every DT on the market is worse than Cox. Every CB on the market is worse than Slay. If we can make it work for 1 year, theres no downside imo.

Not necessarily with Kelce.  That's why it's imperative to plug Jurgens in at RG.  Get him a year of playing time under his belt, learning by being on Kelce's right hip every single play.  A lot different learning from the sidelines then it is on the field.  Imagine how much easier it will be for Jurgens to call out the defense, learn double team timing and such.  That can't be underestimated in importance this year.

Agreed on all fronts. I just hope Davis, Jurgens, and these draft picks this year pan out.

So OTC projects us to get a 3 and three 6s for comp picks. I assume Seumalo leaves and he’ll get us a 5 to cancel one of the 6s.

Cancels out what we get back but is insurance for us to sign someone cheap and not lose out on a comp pick.

me too. But check out how many picks we have in the first 3 rounds next year too. Lots of chances.

I thought we would be getting some 4s and 5s for comp picks for some reason

well, we expected a large deal for Bradberry somewhere. He stayed. And we expected a large deal for Seumalo somewhere. Oddly silent on that front.

Chauncey and Bradberry were the projected 4s. CJGJ might still do it.

I wonder if at some point, Gardner-Johnson comes back on just a 1 year deal deciding to re-test the market next year. Safeties didnt get big money this year.

Do we get anything for hiring Dessai? Unsure how that works. Probably just head coaches/GMs?

In that case I hope we end up with no 4s 🙂

Agreed. Kelce is still playing at a high level and his family is supportive of him continuing his career. I'm sure the pay cheques don't hurt either. He also doesn't have any debilitating injuries.

He really has no immediate reason to retire sans burnout.

no. Only if we lose him to another team. then we would get picks.
