You've been around here long enough to know what happens. Especially after a huge disappointment like what just happened. But no don't jump off a bridge

Couple of articles of lists of guys who could be cut (don’t know how accurate some of the numbers are in the pro football network article)

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-cut-candidates-2023/

Kenny Clark and Bilal Nicols are interesting names to keep an eye on.

While lower on the list, would still love to see an ugrade at TE2 too.

This is low-key one of the biggest inflexion points of the off-season. If Jurgens can play RG, we don't need a sign/draft a starter. We will obviously use mid-round picks/UFAs on OL, but we don't have to force a top 100 pick on the position.

If Jurgens can put on 5-10 lbs, he's big enough to play guard. It also gives him the necessary reps, and will help his future processing as our center.

Yeah, jumping off a bridge he might land on somebody. He should find another way.

Upgrading TE2 can wait until the 2024 off season. Too many other holes to fill this year. Way too many.

No, but he should have.  Jalen Reagor or Minkah Fitzpatrick....hmmm.

I was ok with that trade bc of pick location and yes young safety is a premium position. Thus why most want to keep cgj

Botching the pick skews it

minkah or jefferson?

Ah... but there's the rub.  Who was the last really good pick on defense by Howie and Co.?

It really depends on what kind of trade action we see.

With Howie’s propensity to wheel and deal combined with #10 and #30, there is a world where we come out of the draft with 12-15 picks and are able to saturate the roster with young prospects.

We had such a good offense, but having minimal answers to blitzes is completely baffling.

No chance we have that many picks this year.

It was evident since the DET game (week 1), unfortunately the solution was typically to have Hurts scramble through it. Mind bottling.

Jurgens isn’t the 320lb monster we’d ideally want, but he’s the same size as Isaac.

When was the most amount of rookies on the Week 1 53-man roster? I feel like 10 is a lot… 12-15 has it been done?

Nah it's not, they kept it simple, less mistakes, when all else fails, Hurts bails or throws it away.

In hindsight you’d do it based on how it worked our cause reagor was completely useless. However i don’t think the eagles value the safety position enough to give up a 1st round pick. It’s not a position where they’ve spent a first rounder on in the draft for years. They rather either go to FA to sign guys like jenkins, mcleod and Harris or use 2-6 round picks to either trade for a guy or draft them. I’d strongly argue the eagles don’t consider it a premium position. CJGJ they gave up mid round picks for a talented player hence why they were Ok doing the trade cause the value was way worth the player even with one year left. They are likely willing to pay him cause he’s a great player with positional versatility. If New Orleans asked for a 1st rounder when dealing him, i don’t see the eagles doing that deal.

Keep in mind we still managed to go 14-3 in the regular season, made it to the SB with their offense, so lets not pretend the offense wasn't good enough to win the SB.

The issue was the Defense giving up 38....

I think it’s a good idea to figure out ways for Hurts to take less hits - otherwise we should draft AR15 and start getting him ready for the inevitable.

Hey man, it’s been a long time. How have you been?

Pretty good. How about you?

The offense will be fine with the nucleus of Hurts/Brown/Smith/Goedert growing and developing together.  Theyll just get better and better.  Late round RB and call it a day, focus on some OL depth.

The draft should again be about defense.  I love the idea of drafting and letting rookies filter in behind veterans, that was a great formula and its a sustainable one. Davis and Dean and Blankenship take bigger roles and the rookies come in behind them. If they can win jobs outright, even better.

JT O’Sullivan’s QB school videos pointed this out every single week he did one on Hurts. Coaches relied too much on his ability to scramble, and even then receivers didn’t seem to do much to get open.

Yeah, Hurts’ EPA against the blitz was in the high 20s of memory serves. It needs to improve.

I know sheil and solak touched on it a lot. They continuously kept saying he was 19th vs. the blitz. It’s definitely an area that needs improving.

A fair criticism but we invest more high picks on offense generally
