I'm talking about officially on his contract. What counts against the cap. What happened behind the scenes we'll never know. I'm sure it's been done plenty of places

well, we do know. He got paid illegally. So he never took less.  He doesnt deserve any credit. That narrative should go away. He wasnt a team player taking less for the good of his team. He was a cheater.

Interested to see how he does somewhere else. I’m guessing not as good but this isn’t a terrible gamble for Panthers.

Saw alot of Panthers games last year living in the Charlotte area.

Chubba Hubbard and D'onta Foreman had some big games last year towards the end of the season. Sanders might do alright there behind that OL.

With Thornhill signing in Cleveland and Adderley retiring safety is starting to think out a bit. At this point it's pretty much down to CJGJ, Rapp, Love, Johnson, and Amos.

At QB I would think it will be Mariota or Teddy two gloves.

Beyond that I guess they will someone at LB at some point but who knows. I would expect everything else to be addressed at the draft.

I don’t think you can go into the draft with what you have at safety. It’s very unlikely you’re exiting the draft with a projected starter there. LB I suppose you could pretend a little but that seems dubious as well

I agree. I think they will sign one of those five safeties I mentioned and a backup QB as well. That might be it but I'm hoping they at least take a shot on a cheap one year option at LB like they did with White last offseason.

At 282 he has very little chance. He would be a two-year project and add at least 25 pounds and also learn the position, which he has barely played. Maybe Day 3 or udfa if Stoutland likes him. Herremans came in raw but he was very strong and bigger.

Both Freeland and Witt are 302 pounds.

How many years was Mailata a project?

And yes, Witt would be late day 3 or udfa.  I hadn't heard of this guy until someone else posted him.  I like because positional versatility, blocking TE.

Many years as basketball player,  2 years as TE at Northern Michigan with very few catches, and then one year as OT,  2nd team All Gliac (or whatever it is).

Freeland is the experienced version of Witt, with very similar size and Ras.

The Eagles draft players they don't need immediately.   They have a number of all pros, future HoF, and replacements are drafted for these players on the off chance that a current All Pro is just going to retire.   In that context,  where you don't need someone to fill space immediately, but you want someone who might be able to be an All Pro themselves,  late day 3 projects are what you want.  That's what Mailata was.

If the Eagles are going to draft OL, despite not needing OL, as they typically do, I would be in favor of 1) freakbeast project who has a high ceiling and 2) positional versatility, so that if you can't stash him on practice squad, he can be useful as a blocking TE.  2 years in college as TE,  one year in college as OT.

Nothing innovative there. Just word salad. Copying numbers with no synthetic thought

BS. I'm not suggesting that you read everything I write, or develop an understanding of what I'm saying as a whole. But I'm basically talking about the kind of freakbeast versatile players I like and what they can do fairly often.

I feel like you have to get a back. Penny never played a full season since coming into the league. There will be good backs in round 3 to choose from.

My favorite is Roschon Johnson.  He might not be the best, but he has almost identical size, speed, Ras to Jalen Hurts.  If you want Jalen to do a lot of Jalen running, but you don't want to tax him, you could have Roschon Johnson do that running.  You'd want to give the ball to the big back and have him run out the clock in the 4th Q.   You could have Jalen run over and over, and that would work, but it would be effective enough to have Roschon do that.  He's not that big, 219, but there aren't many heavier backs at the combine.  Capable of doing all the things, and was great QB in HS, was on espn in the under armour aa game.

Went from a SB team to a complete trainwreck. Good luck. You'll need it.

However, he could be running the read option with Anthony Richardson over and over and doing quite well.

Wonder when they’ll sign A’shawn Robinson to his 3 year deal.

Greedy has had a lot of ST snaps. I'm guessing he was picked up with that in mind.

As an added bonus a middle finger to chip that howie got mariota lol

Mariota whines and quits on his team for correctly getting benched and we reward him with that deal? Lame.

You make a post whining about the Eagles rewarding Mariota for whining with a contract? Lame.
