Mills is overrated by himself the most.  He's a much better safety than he is a CB.  He's only 29 and loved being an Eagle.   I'd have no problem bringing him in and letting him compete with Blankenship or at the very least playing the S3/slot position. I don't see why people are ready to crown Blankenship a starter.

Because Blankenship is good.

BUT, Mills can come in as depth and provide depth to 3 positions. Valuable on the field in that regard.

Then, as you said- he embraced the team. Became the green goblin, and I love that he kept the green, even in New England. He did whatever was asked as well. No complaint going from CB to S. Good attitude guy. God swag guy. Is now a super bowl winner. Can fit right in to this culture here.

Probably because he’s our only safety

Because Blankenship played well last year and that was as a rookie.  He should only improve heading into year two.

correct and with more time on the field you will see the the upside in his game

He played OK.  I think he played well enough to be considered for the job but the position will only be better if there's competition and someone to push him to be better.

Im not concerned about Quentin Demps syndrome with Blankenship. He has that drive on his own. Of course, competition and depth is good. We need depth and potentially another starter. Mills can be that depth. I guess I wouldnt complain if he won the starting job. Hed have to have a heck of a camp to beat Blankenship for the job.

hmm....

Name the player. One stat line is Mills first/only year playing S for the eagles. The other is Epps, last season.

I think about Lynn Bowden all the time.

Also, I'm not down on Blankenship at all.  I was excited when they brought him in as an UDFA and he did play well when given a chance.  I just don't want to be in a situation where Wallace is the only depth..again.

Sanders is an effective runner.  He has been productive and Carolina was OK at running the ball last year. Foreman put up over 900 yards.  If Sanders stays healthy, my guess is his YPC and yardage will be close to what it was this past season.  Penny may be a better runner but to say he's not in the same conversation just ignores his biggest problem.  He hasn't been able to stay on the field.  There's no counting on him as a runner.  He's not likely to hold up to 250 + carries as a runner.  Sanders did and was productive in the offense.  Penny was a cheap high upside signing but there's no reason to believe he's going to have a better year than Sanders.

Penny's biggest knock is also sanders', they get hurt literally all the time. This year was the first that sanders hadn't missed games due to injury, and if he wasn't hurt then he was just flat out ineffective in the playoffs. 150 yards and 2 tds over 3 games, averaged over 4 YPC solely because he crushed the giants with over 5 YPC and then averaged less than 4 vs the niners and less than 3 in the super bowl.

Sanders isn't awful, but yall are severely overrating him. He leaves so much meat on the bone, with a less effective O line he isn't going to do as well

Mills is the second but only because I think Epps had a sack

Edit: NVM. No way in hell Epps blitzed 36 times under Gannon

Both are JAGS

The second one makes sense for Epps because giving up almost a perfect QB rating is appropriate from what I saw.

yes your right, i misread it.

Who is the player at 10 you think best suits our team

Gonzalez
Witherspoon
Van Ness
Tyree Wilson
Kancey
Bijan
Porter Jr.
Branch
Paris Johnson Jr.
Skoranski

Yea, I didn't notice the blitz stat. No way Epps blitzed that much under Gannon.

the passer rating, and the 6TDs allowed vs Mills far better passer rating, and 2 TDs allowed. Pretty glaring difference.

Epps had more tackles. Who knows- may be attributed to role in the defense, and comfortability in the position. Mills was always a fine tackler. Epps has been a safety all his career. That was Mills first year playing it.
