Titans have cap issues. Howie should try to swoop in and steal DT Jeffery Simmons. 25 year old stud DT. Can rush the passer and stuff the run. I'd give up pretty penny to get him in here.

Titans might have Howie’s number blocked.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Simmons is going to cost a 1st + and then his extension will make Hargraves look team friendly.

Is it just me or are a lot of players who expected larger contracts not getting them.  Also, not seeing many of the old 5-year contracts.  A lot of 1-3 year deals instead.  Is there a swing in how teams are approaching contracts?  Is this all because they know that if they want a QB they are going to have to pay top dollar?

I think teams have been much more disciplined in their spending this year. As far as 1-3 year deals, I think players want shorter ones in order to get another big payday when the cap goes up.

Wonder if Eagles are one of them. Punter is a need, no matter how trivial.

Before it turns midnight here in Ireland. Happy St Patrick’s day from the Emerald Isle. Most days are a blessing to be from Ireland/irish but today is the day we as a nation shine. Anyway happy St Patrick’s day to any of the members here who are Irish or have Irish ancestry.

Green Bay is holding out for Mann in the Rodgers trade.

Gotta be a super stud like Mike McGlinchey to get a 5 year deal.

I know most of this is against the norm.  That said I’m wondering what Tampa is willing to give up if a QB they like falls to 10

No extension this year. It would be next year when a lot comes off the books.

Bad business to trade a 1 for a player and not have the contract agreed to already.

Safety bottoms out further

I think the Eagles have a 3yr/$21mm offer in for CJ. Don't think he will get more than that. Teams will be more willing to wait until after the draft, and by then CJs value will be even lower.

@LeanMeanGM

Before signing Cox they had his cap hit around 9M. OTC has his cap hit at 5.7M. Am i reading this right and it actually saved 3M or is it not updated fully?

What will it take to get Simmons? #10 for Simmons straight up?

AJ cost us #18 and a 3rd.

I wonder if there are teams trying to sign Gardner-Johnson as a nickel. Wonder if that could be some of his holdup. Maybe he is still trying to make the safety money, and offers are coming in for the nickel role.

In the end if he doesnt get safety money, I wonder if he goes somewhere else for a nickel job.

Do you happen to have a screen shot of his old structure? I'm curious what they had to show $9M. Based on his last deal it should have been like $4M and now increased to $5.7M

But how would we afford him?

Give him a fat signing bonus and pro-rate the s*** out of it. Add Void years like you are the CEO of Enron circa 2001.

Broncos moving on from CJGJ?

You're not extending him til next off-season. I'd try to give them #30 and a 3rd. Next year a 2nd plus. Then you trade back from #10 to recoup picks. Otherwise pick #10 and a pick or two next year. Maybe they want to try and move up for a QB with pick #10.
