Give him a fat signing bonus and pro-rate the s*** out of it. Add Void years like you are the CEO of Enron circa 2001.

You can only prorate across 5 years. The cap actually does have some borderline rules.

That’s why you gotta option bonus the ish out of them to bypass it.

You're not extending him til next off-season. I'd try to give them #30 and a 3rd. Next year a 2nd plus. Then you trade back from #10 to recoup picks. Otherwise pick #10 and a pick or two next year. Maybe they want to try and move up for a QB with pick #10.

Bad business.  High cost with high risk of minimal reward.

Like him being a good QB?

Oh he definitely sucks at playing QB. The only reason to bring him in is because he fits into the offense better than Minshew did. Otherwise he isn't worth that contract.

It is close enough.  What the F kind of question is that for Lewis to ask?  Maybe if Brown was majoring in geography — otherwise I’d have asked in return if he’s looking for an OT or a cruise ship captain.

Do you happen to have a screen shot of his old structure? I'm curious what they had to show $9M. Based on his last deal it should have been like $4M and now increased to $5.7M

Couldn’t find a screenshot, but I did find this:

STILL haven’t watched the video, but I think you can find what you are looking for.  Just not quickly.

Back in the late 90s/early 2000s wasn’t the max to push bonus money like 7 years?  I.E, Deon Sanders was being paid by the R words long after he retired, unretired, played 2 seasons for the Ravens and retired again.

Pre-draft Mariota fits the offense...the Mariota of today absolutely does not IMO.  He's got the nod on MInshew in athleticism, but from arm strength, accuracy, to brain he does not.

He's okay for a backup though, and it's not like Jalen has the strongest arm either. Our OL, weapons, and the offense/scheme itself create a lot easy opportunities for the QB. He should fill in decently at least.

Mariota has been basically an average starter his whole career.  Sometimes when you're an average starter, a team gets tired of average, and wants more.  When that happens you lose your job.   Didn't do much with the Raiders as a backup, but did have 88 yards rushing on 9 carries one game.  He can still run.  With the Falcons, he started 4-4.  He has a tendency to get banged up and lose effectiveness.  Mariota is not the starter, so he'd be fresh if he plays.

I think so too! I believe the FO saw what happened with Minshew in short yardage or QB sneaks and think they have a power rush built offense. Minshew couldn't execute it properly and luckily Hurts has more than enough talent to overcome IMO mediocre RB talent for the offense the Eagles scheme.

Signing a QB becuase of QB sneaks is silly when you have former QB Lane Johnson who is much larger and can sneak for you.

Her reaction is a bit much and it's unfortunate for her and the family that the entire thing was caught on camera.  With that being said, it's sad to see how much social media is ripping a loving mother, who has supported and invested so much in to her son, one of the top wrestlers of all time, was upset.

In comparison, I've seen more positive comments after a rabid sports fan destroys their own TV and belongings after their team, who has nothing invested in you, loses a regular season game.

I'm happy with Mariota and the continuity it gives the O.  Should Hurts miss a few games it is much more of not changing things than it has been with Minshew.  With Mariota we can still run the option and grind things behind the OL.  I think that is a better overall option than have to change things up and make use of slightly better passing from Minshew than what Mariota will bring.

What a ridiculous justification to a bad answer from Orlando Brown.

I can name three cities in Spain: Madrid, Barcelona and Seville.  I don't know if one of those is the capital.

If I did know, that and $2 would get me a cup of coffee at Wawa.

The question was either a joke or some psychological BS test.  If they had asked him the capital of his home state and he didn't know, then maybe there was an issue.

Americans geography outside their own country is generally pretty poor.

You’d think people you at least know the difference between a capital and an actual country

That was my thought.  If they know that Brown was a geography major, or took multpile geography or Spanish courses, I'm guessing this could have been a test to see if he was coasting by relying on football or if he actually took his academics seriously.  I think that would be a fair line of questioning.  If a player doesn't take his classes seriously, is he going to put in the work studying an NFL playbook when he has A LOT more free time and money?

Remember this jem?  How many colllege players think like this?  How many college players who have no chance at the NFL but are there on a full ride think like that?

Quick research shows that he was a Human Relations major so that theory can be put to bed.

They ask those questions to throw you off your scripted answers

also to see how smart you are and judge your personality. Do you know it? Anyone with an 8th grade education should probably

Here is where we stand at LB.

1. We all know Wagner is out there. Probably top choice.

2. Next choice for me is probably Cole Holcomb.

3. Nicholas Morrow was decently productIve last year. What stands out most is 11 TFLs.

There are a couple dice rolls too.

4. Deion Jones is out there. He missed a bunch of games last year but might still be very good. Probably more likely than Cunningham to stay healthy.

5. Zach Cunningham missed a ton of games past couple of years though. But, very, very good if he has a healthy season.

Back to this Morrow seems like the best choice assuming Wagner costs too much.  Kempski mentioned Perrymen who also is more than what we currently have

Morrow or Deion Jones. I might prefer Jones. I think he was hurt last year but I dont think its reall been an issue through his career so far.

This might be overly optimistic, but I think Christian Elliss could be a player.

Ellis ran a 4.48 40, 4.29 40 yard shuttle and 10 foot broad at 6'3, 233. For reference, his brother Kaden just got a nice contract from the Falcons.

Christian Ellis is more than athletic/big enough to our weakside LB.
