Meh…Does not make up for the loss of Kellen Moore. I think their offense takes a step back this year.  Dak is also regressing.

I would be surprised if they didn’t go running back early in the draft.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I have no problem tipping a cap to Dallas when justified, but I don't really see this as moving the needle.

Cooks is going to be a slightly healthier, slightly better version of TY Hilton for them.  He's not an answer.

Until we see how this offseason changed the 2023 competitive landscape, Dallas still is, IMO, the 3rd best team in the NFC.  But they are a pretty bad 3rd best team.  1 scary player on defense.  A good QB that consistently comes up small in the playoffs.  Suspect OL.  Weapons are good but far from great.

If we struggle with Dallas next year, that's on us.

Wait until they get a load of Captain slant-flat combo.

That’s fun. We’ll see if Howie trades any of those picks for a player this offseason.

This is why it's going to always does suck watching them draft.  Dallas never fails to draft players I love watching in college.  Yes, they have their usual defeciencies, which usually comes down to coaching, but damn if they don't know how to add legit talent.

Yep, I look at those duplicate pick rounds 2,3,5 as trade pieces to either move up in the draft or add a veteran player.  This is the strategy I've been talking about for some time and will be interesting to see if they actually do it.

When do they get officially assigned to teams? We can’t trade a potential pick

Not until next March

Cool stuff. A/E/C is my firm’s main focus. We also have revenue streams in life sciences and renewables.

No you can't but if they are 99% guaranteed, it would make it easier to trade their own 3 or a 5.  The Eagles should be drafting at the end of the rounds for the forseeable future so a comp pick at the end of the round shouldn't be that far off from their actual picks.

That’s wild.

Tough to tell what cooks is at this point. He’s only 30 and even with the Texans it looked like he still had the speed. But his numbers were not good last year which is likely tied to the crap Qb play they had. He also missed 4 games i think some was just he wanted to be dealt and they didn’t and he sat out. However 2 of 4 years he’s been 700 yards or less and his yards per catch the last 4 years have dropped from 13.9, 14.2, 11.5 and 12.3. Early in his career he was usually around 15-16. I think it’s a good trade for Dallas cause they didn’t give up much for him and he has upside. Then again they basically traded amari cooper last offseason for basically what they gave up to get Brandin cooks.

I mean, over the last four years Cooks has literally doubled the production of Hilton.

At this point, he's a vastly better player than TY.

An April-June trade for a LB feels like a Howie move this year.

You can trade a conditional pick. So if you’re projected to get a comp 5 you can make the trade for the lowest of the Eagles’ 2024 5s. It makes it complicated and then you can’t trade a 5 at a later time until the comp pick conveys. The Pats have done trades like that a bunch.

Yeah, that was a weird comment.

I also seem to remember one TY Hilton breaking the Eagles back last year so if Cooks is a better version of Hilton...are we happy about that?

I think the better question is would you rather have cooks or amari cooper. Cause Dallas traded cooper last year for the same compensation they gave up for Brandin cooks and i saw only paying cooks $12 mil (Texans paying $6 mil). Tbh talent wise i rather have cooper at this stage of his career as cooper is 2 years younger. The contract situation makes it more even

That’s a great trade for Dallas because Brandon Cooks is incapable of aging and will never get older than 30.

Fine to use as ammo to move up

no vets. Carpet bomb younger cheaper players

I'd rather have Cooks. Amari Cooper mentally shuts down and doesn't show up on the road or in big games.

I think what helps is what Cooks offers. HE allows them to move Lamb into the slot. Cooks can play inside and outside. Its going to help them for sure. How much? Not sure but you go from Noah Brown to Brandin Cooks? Huge upgrade. And they won 12 games with Noah Brown.

Better Cooks than Hopkins who I thought the Cowboys were going to ultimately get.
