We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Hell, WR jumped up to arguably the second most valuable position salary wise and the Panthers threw him into a deal to trade up to 1. Winfield is a good safety, but IIRC has some long term questions about his knee.

I figured he meant two years were guaranteed by one way or another

Read it without the 2...

Sources say a week ago the eagles offered CJGJ a 3 year deal guaranteed for more money total than the one year he signed with Detroit … … more to this story I’m sure will eventually come out

What does that even mean?

More than 6.5 over the two years

Even Epps and CJGJ mostly dived/grabbed at ankles when bigger players got into the second level with the ball.  And it’s usually just a shoulder without a wrap up when it’s a smaller player.

Defensive backs that tackle well are few and far between.

Epps had a 9.6% missed tackle rate. Gardner-Johnson was 5% worse. Technically, Williams has been as well, but again, I think you put him at safety, its even worse yet.

I’m not too beaten up about CJGJ.  I think safety isn’t a big money, big investment position unless you are talking about a Dawkins or Ed Reed type that you can build the defense around.

If Hurts gets 50m, then you can only afford to pay the OL, WRs, and pass rushers.  The rest of the team needs to come cheap.

Just shy of 16M APY 😂😂😂 I like CGJ but how delusional

He’s the type of guy that overvalued himself. He will use the six interceptions to justify his value. Meanwhile, his tape indicates he didn’t play as well as those numbers appear.

Lol. I wonder who that could be.

Forget about Cox, the deal the Eagles gave Mariota isn’t that far off from the deal CJGJ got. Mariota got 1 year 5 million, up to 8 million. CJGJ basically got 1 year 6.5 million, up to 8 million.

I do think it’s most likely that for whatever reason, he soured on the Eagles or the Eagles soured on him. Highly doubt this was a situation where they just couldn’t afford him. If their money situation was that tight, and they truly valued CJGJ that highly, they would have waited the CJGJ situation out before signing a backup QB.

Shocking he deleted it lol

The Eagles have been very aggressive about getting their side out.

According to sources familiar with the team’s negotiations, the Eagles offered Gardner-Johnson a multi-year deal at the start of free agency that was worth more than what he ultimately signed for with the Lions. However, Gardner-Johnson was seeking to be paid an annual average in salary just shy of Bates. The Eagles’ initial offer wasn’t there, and he hoped ensuing offers would be as the Eagles shifted their focus elsewhere.

So he went from asking for a long term deal for slightly less than the 16 million per that Jessie Bates got, to a one year deal for 6.5 million with incentives to possibly take it up to 8 million? There is overplaying your hand and misreading your market, and then there is that. Instead of posting stupid crap on social media all week dude should have fired his agent and gotten proper representation.

There’s the possibility that the eagles were like this dude is a too much of a diva and pain in the ass. We are allocating the money elsewhere

They aren’t going to get a better QB at 10 than 19. All 4 are going well before we pick. It’s anyones guess who goes next after and when but it won’t be in the 1st and if someone reaches, it won’t be anywhere close to #10.

The employee usually takes personal offense when 2 sides can’t get on the same page in negotiations.  And then they just want out.

Who’s McCollum?

Tristin McCollum.  He played S at Sam Houston. His twin brother, a CB, was drafted by Tampa last year.  Tristin signed to the Texans PS.  (Texans have decent S depth). I had a Day 3 grade on him because he was a little green being at Sam Houston.  Howie scooped him up pretty quickly to a future reserve contract. Has CB level skills.  4.48 guy.  (His twin ran a 4.33). 4.03 shuttle and a 6.72 3 cone so to say he is agile is an understatement.  6’2” and change.  Sam Houston was the FCS champion so he got that level of experience.  May not amount to anything but I liked the signing.  Was a good tackler in college.  Nothing guaranteed but neither were Epps or CJGJ.

Cool, bro.  I'm down with that.

Antonio Johnson is looking like a better prospect all the time

I just go to the urban dictionary for this cap …. I mean crap

Don’t think Howie would use a first rounder on a safety. Which is why losing CJGJ blows.
