Never thought I’d see Mariota and Cox on the same team. I think Howie signed both just as a FU to Chip.

Maybe he's in philly to sign with the agent and not a visit.  Agent might in philly working on Jalen's deal.  Though the picture was of the Linc so probably a visit

I’m sure it’s somewhat of a visit, even if it’s unofficial.

Just speculation but I’m sure the favorite for him to go to is the Cowboys. This would be a very Cowboys pick and they need a RB.

Just cuz'.  Man, I loved those guys and thought for sure they would get it done.  Of course, Dawk is my favorite but Westy wasn't far behind

I used to love it when the entire team wore black cleats.

This is just the perfect combination

IMO No.  The Eagles use free agency to fill holes and the draft for the future.  Having Cox and Hargrave at DT didn’t stop them from drafting Jordan Davis (and trade up to do so).  If Murphy and Tyree Wilson are off the board, it becomes likely that Gonzalez or Witherspoon can be BPA at #10.

I have my doubts they choose CB over OL in that spot, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out

And while it was before Howie’s time, the Eagles drafted Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown in rounds 1 and 2 while they had Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor.

Eagles had the best Dline in the league last year, with Slay/Bradbury and still couldn’t force Mahomes to throw an incompletion in the second half of the SB.  That’s the sort of thing that can leave a mark on Howie.

I was thinking about that when I read that post. The funny thing is, when ever I think about those two picks I can’t help but remember a Peter King article where his take on those two selections was a move "to keep up with the Rams”

I don’t necessarily think they always go BPA. If that were the case I’m sure they go Parsons over Smith a couple years ago. Or like 30 guys over Reagor. Howie and co definitely have positional tendencies in round 1.

Also DTs rotate while Outside CBs don’t. Now if Gonzalez or Witherspoon gets drafted, my guess would be that Slay gets dealt or cut unless his contract says otherwise. And if his contract says otherwise then they aren’t going CB at 10.

My guess as the most likely position they draft at 10.

1. DE

2. DT

3. WR

4. OT

5. S or CB

There is no chance they take a WR at 10, mainly because I don’t think there’s a WR with a top 10 grade. I say:

EDGE

DT

OT

CB

The Eagles never had a shot at Parsons. If they were going to draft Parsons, the Cowboys never would have traded back with them.

I don't think there's a DT worthy either, unless Carter is there and the organization clears him as an option. Even DE is highly questionable. Van Ness, Nolan Smith is about all and Van Ness at 10 is a reach, possibly majorly. CB and O-line should be the best players available at 10.

Here's who I think has a decent shot of being there at 10 and aren't major reaches: Devon Witherspoon, Christian Gonzalez, Peter Skoronski, Jalen Carter, Myles Murphy, Paris Johnson. I think there are a lot of good EDGE prospects from 30 and into R2. I don't want Carter. And an OT seems like a luxury pick this year (not next year). If I'm the Eagles with two aging outside CB's and a lack of talent at S, I go Gonzalez or Witherspoon (Witherspoon for me)...move Maddox to S...and let Witherspoon man the slot and get some immediate experience. He has outside/inside experience, and the kid's demeanor and on-field play just scream Philly to me.

With all the recent consternation around the safety position, I needed to remind myself that we have:

 - Top 5 QB
 - Top 5 WR pair
 - Top 5 TE
 - Top 5 OL
 - Top 5 edge rush
 - Top 5 CB trio

Happy Spring, folks.

No chance?? I wouldn’t say that. More than likely I think the eagles want to trade back and snag a few picks in the middle rounds but that doesn’t mean there will be an opportunity.

The Eagles taking a WR at 10 would not shock me

Im getting ready for Howie to take Bijan at 10, Sydney Brown at 30, and trade up for Jack Campbell in round 2.

He will shock the world picking those 3 positions with the 1st 3 picks.

Suddenly though, its a complete team.

EDGE would be Wilson at 10 but I don’t believe Murphy

DT doesn’t have a viable 10 anymore in my opinion

OT could be one of the Js

CB is the most likely with both Gonzalez and Witherspoon possible

a trade down and then a CB or OT is my personal expectation

I can concur with that approach.  The one tweak I would make is trading down at both 10 and 30.  Both Bijan (or Gibbs) and Brown will be available at 15 to 18 and 35 to 38 respectively.

No Rb in first just no

There’s no WR worthy of a top 10 grade.

Gibbs at 30 would make us hands down the best offense in the NFC, possibly the entire league. No way he’s there at 62.

This is obvious but guys like Murphy & Van Ness probably don't have evals on the pro boards that exactly match all the mocks. I'm not sure which direction that goes but it wouldn't surprise me to see either go a pick or 2 before Eagles or late in the teens.  The Eagles might not view either as a 'reach'.

Let’s take the report that the Eagles didn’t have room in their budget for CJGJ anymore (and it wasn’t other issues that shied the Eagles away), that would seem to suggest John Johnson is probably priced out as well. Maybe his market bottoms out as well. If not, we’re probably dumpster diving.
