Eagles still haven't restructured Lane yet. Curious why.

Anyway, what we need to see is if the going cheaper at LB and S is just the Eagles going by their usual philosophy or if they're completely tapped out cap-wise.

Like for example, if a DL fell in their lap at a fair price, would they pounce on a position they actually value?

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Gives you a body going into the draft. At least you can pretend now.  I doubt these are the only LBs that will be on the team when camp starts

That cycle gets broken by drafting a good LB where the team has 4 years of a cost-controlled contract.  If you're the Eagles, you're hoping to hit on a Day 2-3 pick at the position (so, better than Davion Taylor)

Yup seems Howie and Reid before him weren't opposed to drafting a LB day two they just never hit.

Barry Gardner Rd 2

Quinton Caver RD 2

Mychal Kendricks RD 2, Bobby Wagner who I wanted goes very next pick and Levonte David who I also liked more than Kendricks goes a few picks later.

Davion Taylor round 3

Chris Gocong Rd 3

Omar Gaither Rd 4

Stewart Bradley, Jamar Chaney, Jordan Hicks who was good but always hurt 3rd Rd I think?

Nate Gerry ☹️

Now Nakobe Dean in the 3rd? And who knows if he'll on out.

Would be nice if they could actually draft a LB and have him stay healthy and around for more than a season.

For a franchise that has a rich history of LBs it's been pretty barren for the last 10 years?

Who was the last off ball eagle LB to make a pro bowl Trotter? And that was 20 years ago.

I may be wrong but i believe you can only restructure a player once in a year time frame. I believe it was after June when he restructured last year.

What a sad, sad list. You forgot about the real McCoy and that scrub Casey Mathews.

It's been reported by several reporters they plan to restructure him so I'm just going by that.

Drew Sanders would be awesome to add.

He is a far better pass rusher than a backer , needs some work to be every down backer  , he wouldn’t even start as a rookie at backer  .  I’m drafting him as a pass rusher .

why I want us to get Jack Campbell... I think he's one of the safest picks in the entire draft

Nah, maybe once per NFL league year, not sure about that, but not a running year time frame. Elliott restructured his contract right before the start of Week 1 in 2022 and just did it again a few weeks ago.

Not sure where this narrative is coming from that Eagles treat safety like LB and won't pay for safety.

The bummer about this offseason for Eagles is that it's about minimizing how much worse they get and not really about getting better so far. I'm trying to think through moves out there or picks where you could actually hang out hope that the team will be better this season.

Is that in his contract? Not a bad escalator clause.

Yup, I'm with you. Just not seeing it.

Sounds like Alex Singleton 2.0

"he was on the field for every single one of the Bears' 1,086 defensive snaps."

Wagner would be ok but this organization will have its head in the sand with certain things which seems like forever. Meanwhile if we had at least one upper tier linebacker during the super bowl maybe their 7th round RB isn't embarrassing us and closing out the game. But nope. There isn't a pair of binoculars strong enough that can get Howie to see that.

What would eagles fans call Edwards?

The bold has bought me in. Lets give him a max deal!

Depends who you ask, duh.

Lol, again no one is saying he's Urlacherzzzzz. I'm not sure why you guys are shocked every year when this regime pays very little attention to linebackers.  That's their M.O.

Good player with limitations preventing him from ever becoming more than just "good"

I don't think getting better was ever an option given how many FA's we had with somewhat limitations for cap space. I think we could possibly get better at certain position groups like WR and RB, but overall as a team, it's just not going to happen.

Honestly I get it.  It's just a bit of a bummer to have an offseason where you're trying to not get that much worse.  I'm hoping Howie has some surprise in him. RB in rd 1. Slot WR. Some D player we can say is an upgrade.  Something somehow.  I'm not complaining so much as lamenting
