Much better WR available than JSN.  I don't see him any better than the 6th or 7th rated WR in this draft.

You are nuts. Wr1 on my board

Eagles still haven't restructured Lane yet. Curious why.

Anyway, what we need to see is if the going cheaper at LB and S is just the Eagles going by their usual philosophy or if they're completely tapped out cap-wise.

Like for example, if a DL fell in their lap at a fair price, would they pounce on a position they actually value?

Unless they know he is retiring after 1-2 more years

Lol, again no one is saying he's Urlacherzzzzz. I'm not sure why you guys are shocked every year when this regime pays very little attention to linebackers.  That's their M.O.

Youre not saying hes urlacherzzzz and im saying he isnt a starting quality LBer. We are in agreeance here lol. Just because he started for the Bears who had absolutely 0 depth going into the season, doesnt mean hes a starting quality LBer, ala Alex Singleton.

I don't think getting better was ever an option given how many FA's we had with somewhat limitations for cap space. I think we could possibly get better at certain position groups like WR and RB, but overall as a team, it's just not going to happen.

The bummer about this offseason for Eagles is that it's about minimizing how much worse they get and not really about getting better so far. I'm trying to think through moves out there or picks where you could actually hang out hope that the team will be better this season.

This was one of the primary reasons why losing that game against the Chiefs was devastating: it was always going to be extremely difficult to improve on that team. However, there IS a way for this team to improve and it’s basically if Jalen takes another monumental step (which would implies that DeVonta also takes another large step). However, common sense says we’re being greedy and that’s unrealistic.

Hence why I maintain that we should be building towards 2024-2025 and not get too caught up in trying to go all-in in 2023.

What a sad, sad list. You forgot about the real McCoy and that scrub Casey Mathews.

That's right McCoy was a 2nd rounder as well.

I did forget Casey Matthews, thanks for bringing that back...😒😉

I'd rather him at 10 than Van Ness.

He doesn't do anything except sit in the slot.  He'll be a volume target but not an exciting player.  I'd rather have Johnston, Addison, Hyatt ... even Downs and Flowers are better options for a WR strictly in the slot.  JMO

why I want us to get Jack Campbell... I think he's one of the safest picks in the entire draft

Yup, I think he's a 2nd Rounder, lots of other teams value LB, I've seen him in  the 3rd in some mocks as well but not sure Howie would pull the trigger, I mean he isn't a converted safety and weighs more than 225...😒

Justin Jefferson was just a slot WR too right

Not sure why you keep throwing that out when it's been debunked.

JSN #1 and Hyatt #2 for me

Maybe he'll put out there he's been told he's moving to slot CB     🙂

Worse yet, safety.

The Bradberry contract sure is something. He's guaranteed to be on the team for 2023 & 2024. In 2025, he either restructures or gets the June 1st cut.

Not many slot-only WRs can put up 347 yards in a single game. Maybe he will be nothing more than a slot WR, but was he not in the slot primarily due to players like Olave, Wilson, Harrison Jr being there on the outside? Curious to see his 40 time and other drills tomorrow.

Honestly I get it.  It's just a bit of a bummer to have an offseason where you're trying to not get that much worse.  I'm hoping Howie has some surprise in him. RB in rd 1. Slot WR. Some D player we can say is an upgrade.  Something somehow.  I'm not complaining so much as lamenting

Roster-wise might take a slight step back next year on paper(but could make it up if Hurts continues to get better), but if they nail the draft, they'd be set up very well for long-term sustainability.

The problem is the 2nd best team in the NFC is probably Dallas in their own division. And so far they've gotten better(Elliott was addition by subtraction)

I'd say the 2nd best team in the NFC is the 49ers, but regarding Dallas, I don't see them as meaningfully better. Cooks is whatever. Pollard is hurt, so we need to see him come back. They lost Dalton Schultz.  But, I think firing Kellen Moore and turning play calling over McCarthy has the potential to be a disaster. I did like the cheap option to trade for Gilmore.

Why do people think they need a RB in round 1 when OL and DL got them to the SB? Especially, when there are so many productive RB in the other rounds and the defense was the issue and is even more so now.

San Francisco is still better than Dallas, and if Flores fixes the Vikings' defense they might be better as well.

I don't know. The Vikings record didn't match their performance (e.g., point differential) at all. I think they are going to take a massive step back, record wise.

The NFC is going to be rather pathetic. The only teams I am confident will make the playoffs are the Eagles and 49ers.

I'm not sure SF was better than Dallas this past season. I think they were about even. The game in SF went down to the wire, but for example, if Dallas had home field in that game they probably win. I think both teams are very very close. And Dallas shoring up WR and CB a bit and SF not having a clear #1 QB on their roster, I think Dallas is a bigger threat to the Eagles, honestly. The Eagles always struggle against them. That's not to say SF couldn't prove to be in the end, but I can't declare that now with no obvious viable QB option at the moment.
