The eagles will end up paying Slay $75 million for five years, which is $15 million a year. That seems to be a fair deal for a top cb. You can get upset about the dead cap, but the opposite side of the argument is that they received top cb play for three years that was way under market value.

I honestly don't even really care about the dead cap, I'm just bringing it up because he will be on the books for awhile. My main argument is I would have cashed out after 3 years for $50M and not push my luck.

How many WR's do the Jets plan on having??

Did he agree with the Jets or the browns?

He can’t be a starter but he’s better than Wallace as a backup.

Better than Harris too.

Makes those morning blumpkins with @olsilverhair pretty interesting

Darius Slay is a top 5 corner who cares about his age

Jets. "has a chance" to make $6.5M

I've always liked Rodney McLeod and felt he was underrated here, but I wouldn't bring him back at 33 years old to share a secondary with two other guys 32 and 30 years old.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this cover-8 scheme being associated with Desai, but it seems to put a lot of stress on the safety positions to 1) make the right reads immediately post-snap and  2) be able to cover ground quickly.

1) and 2) are why I like the Maddox to Safety alternative

So that Slay contract seems to make him a near lock to be on the team for the next two years. It’s hard to see us take a corner at 10 if I’m understanding the contract correctly.

A CB at 10 works if the CB is versatile enough to play both inside and outside.  If that is the case he can be the starting nickel back in years one and two and transition to the boundary in year three.

This is how I envision the first 9 picks going. Leaves us with a lot of options at 10 and enough for a small trade back if a good enough offer presents itself.

Yes

Looks like Mills is going back to the Pats. Im sure you guys had this info yesterday, but all the green goblin haters can now rest easy

I wouldn’t have paid that. It’s the equivalent of like a 3rd rounder.

I think Stout likes him. He was giving him very positive feedback during the combine drills he coached.

He can play Center as well.  That was an unexpected bonus that emerged at the Senior Bowl

Moore is talented, but hasn't put it together. Moore as a #2 behind Cooper also works.

Berry is really a good GM. Constantly adds great talent. Awesome move

As many as Rodgers wants.

He traded 3 1sts for Deshaun Watson.

A 3rd rounder for Elijah Moore IMO isn’t a good move. Brandin Cooks got traded for a 5th and is much much better. Granted, older but Elijah Moore is purely potential at this point. Nothing more. He’s been unproductive. I wanted Moore but I was thinking it would cost a 5th rounder based on his production.

That's his main blemish. But look at the talent he adds year after year.

He’s good. Might be nuts though.

Probably wasn’t his call.

There goes my pick 10 for 13, Moore, and 112 scenario

Moore is much younger and is on a rookie deal though next year. Barely was able to show what can been do in the league with those Jets QB's. He's easily worth a 3rd I think.

Might be in the minority here, but that's a great return for Moore. Blah blah blah about "3rd round value" in my opinion. You're getting a similar tier of player at 42 as you would at 32. That's great for a known malcontent whom you obviously weren't keeping.
