If the bills got Hopkins that would be quite the offseason additions. Harris and Hopkins make a good offense even that much better

It would have to be an insanely weak draft to convince me there isn’t someone in the top 10 that isn’t a better option, accounting for both impact and longevity and factoring in positional value. I also think we have to live with the reality that Hurts won’t just become a solely pocket QB although that is a desired outcome. Him with read options is what makes him special.

Just look at the players taken immediately after or in the vicinity of Elliott, McCaffrey and Barkley. Several players who would have been better selections. It’s hindsight but there are rare, if any, situations of taking a RB that high and being the correct decision. Just my opinion.

I hear you. And we may be in agree to disagree territory, which is fine. I am, to date, undefeated on these boards so I can take a tie. I actually agree with what you said in large part. But if the RB is the only difference maker there and there is a huge tier drop I think it becomes worth it.

jalen carter may be that guy, but can’t see him falling to us and the character concerns are real. Obviously is it’s Zeke Elliott v Aaron Donald, you’re 100% right. But if it’s Zeke/saquon v Brandon Barnett, it’s Robinson all day.

I used to watch everything. Now I'm old and jaded and can't sit through the nothingness.  I heard Morrow said he had versatility and could play anywhere. Has anyone ever said they weren't versatile and demanded to play one specific spot

If you draft Bijan then Gainwell needs to be our primary slot receiver

Wasn’t it advertised when he came out of the draft that he had incredible hands?

And back to the HonestNFL stuff, it's really hard to reconcile that safety is important in this scheme. They have not acted like that at all

The fact you were allowed here at all to begin with and are somehow still here is one of life’s biggest mysteries. I’ll give you credit, you’re good at it…but you’re the worst kind of troll. The one who instigates, then runs and cries about the retaliation.

Rumor on Twitter that deforest Buckner wants to be traded. And he has 0 dead money if dealt.

Making almost as much money as Hargrave I would assume

If the Eagles are going to play a ton of zone and two high safety like (Fangio likes and Gannon liked) then you can make the case that safety is much less important than it would be in a single high situation and tons of man.

I’ve seen multiple posts on here about the importance of safeties in the system Dessai is likely to run

They’re not going RB in round 1 people lost their minds.

I wouldn’t be totally shocked if they took a RB at 30. Robinson is considered a top 5 type of talent in this draft and Gibbs is one of the most unique RB prospects to come time. It was reported Howie was looking to take CMC early in the draft. At #30 you’re dealing with tier 3 types of prospects at high value positions, so getting a unique and/or blue chip RB prospect would be good value. The extra year on the contract vs a 2nd or 3rd rounder means you get to keep the blue chip RB an extra year before he walks.

I could see it, especially if the eagles trade down from #10.

Yeah I know. I must be missing something. Not saying they aren’t important in any system but for the "play wussy zone and limit big plays with 2 high safety shells Fangio/Gannon/What the Eagles seem to like” defense it would seem less important than others.

I think (based on what I’ve read) that that the idea that the Eagles will have their safeties sit in a deep shell isn’t accurate. Oftentimes, the safeties will start in two deep but spin just prior to the snap to change the coverage rules and look for the QB. With switch coverages, you’re frequently asking at least one of your safeties to be able to man cover. With all the spinning, you’re asking your safeties to diagnose on the fly with movement. Because the safeties aren’t simply sitting back and taking the deep receiver, you need them to actually cover in zone as well.

Maybe that doesn’t move Howie to dramatically increase what he’s willing to pay for safety. It’s not 2016 with a rookie QB on the way, so he can’t pay big money for Jenkins/McLeod. You have to cut corners somewhere, and we know Howie’s history.

Maybe if you have LB that can drop and cover

otherwise you get killed by TEs…like we were last year

No you're just here to cry in YouTube comments.  Completely classless move to F over a guy who setup and is funding the board and had nothing to do with banning your loser friends.

We were the 6th best team against opposing tight ends last year...

One thing to note is that 25 percent of the prospects in the top 100 of the consensus NFL mock draft tracker are defensive backs. So I am guessing that we will be able to find a decent safety prospect with our four picks in the first three rounds.

I’m curious how far we fall in the rankings if Irv Smith didn’t drop a long walk-in TD.
