What sucks about it is that we know the Eagles in many of our lifetimes could/should be 3-0 in SBs.  Not only did the Eagles face two generational talents at QB, the Eagles went against the Patriots at the height of their spygate scandal.  Clear as day NE knew what the Eagles were going to do.

Then we have the debacle with KC this year.  The holding penatly, while holding, was allowed all game long.  The field conditions and so forth.

Here we are though, 1-3 in SBs.

What killed us last year was slot WR play. Teams would repeatedly kill us inside, but it was WRs, not TEs who did the damage.

Seemed to get much worse once Avonte was injured, out and injured again

Yup I didn't see the Raiders super bowl but from what I understand the eagles just got beat up.

The other 2 losses I agree, still bugged by spygate and don't even get me started on the field against the chiefs, that game is going to take me a while to get over...☹️

Doesn't make much sense. We have Reddick, Graham, Barnett and Sweat. Adding someone else right now seems like a waste. If we need someone during the season, we can just trade since we will likely have a ton of comp picks next year.

So if we look at how FA has gone, the Eagles have gotten older across the board.  Not ideal IMO.  Is this a run it back mindset?  Not sure what to think when you look at FA as a whole to date.  A lot more to be done wtih the draft, trades and the 2nd wave of FA plus surrpise cuts that could come about.  Found the age stat in Reubs latest article but took it a bit further with comparisons.  

Average age of players the Eagles lost to other teams: 27.5...The Eagles lost four of the youngest starters on defense.  CGJ was 25 while Epps, White and Edwards were all 26.  Miles Sanders will be 26 in May as will Minshew.

Average age of players the Eagles signed: 31.4. BG and Kelce are 35.  Slay is 32.  Bradberry 20.  Cox is 32.   There isn't a single position they got younger at.  Penny is 27, Morrow and Evans are about to be 28.  Mariota turns 30 early in the season.

The Eagles have given over $50 milion to their returning veterans for 2023 and they've locked themselves up in 2024 with a 33 year old Slay and 31 year old Bradberry.

This could either lead to a great 2023 team or blow up in Howie's face.  He was fantastic with some of his moves last year but I fear that all of the GM of the year, having fans forgive him at the game and his response to them has all gone to his head and he's reverting to some of his old tricks that aren't necessarily good.

Free agency was pretty weak overall this year. Not too concerned about how it’s gone so far.

trade back a few, pick up an extra 2nd and a few other mid-round picks this year.  Take Van Ness.  Use one of the extra picks from next year and trade up from 30 in front of Dallas and get Robinson.

In the 2nd, get Syndey Brown at safety and with the potential 2nd gained in moving down add Cody Mauch.

DL, RB, S, G/T all in the first 2 rounds.

Concern isn't so much wiht the quality of the players but how much older they've gotten with the additions.  I know 4 of them (Cox, BG, Kelce, Mariota) are off the books next year, but it's still a questionable approach.
