All Van Ness does is bull rush. He is strong and does it well but that's his arsenal of pass rushing.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

There's no way Howie will do it. He will unwaveringly invest in what he considers premium positions. It will most assuredly be OL/DL/CB there.

FYP since he hasn't ever drafted a CB in R1

He was prepared to draft Surtain or Horn a couple years ago, so he's not totally against it. Just prefers other positions.

I want a FA redo. DT is weak this year in the draft. I can't reach for one just because it's a valued position. CB is possibly the strongest position. Only sign 1 of our corners while using the rest of the money on DT Dre'Mont Jones. He got paid but not the 20 mil per some had suggested. Make him your priority on Monday at noon. Then grab your other corner at 10 or even with a slight trade back. Even if the top two are off the board at 10 there's literally 3 others in Porter, Smith and Banks. Oh well

We will never know if that was smoke or fire, will we? Unless I missed him come out and say he was going to take them.

It was reported, but regardless, whether it was true or not, if he's going to deviate from OL or DL, he'd go CB before he'd go RB. His philosophy on what he spends at those positions is evidence enough of that. Howie just doesn't value RB much. As little as anyone in the league.

Not sure why the narrative has changed and people believing otherwise all of a sudden. I guess the Robinson draft visit, but you're always going to meet with top prospects and do due diligence. We go through this song and dance every year though. Teams think Eagles will take a RB high and they never do. I think it's more likely they don't take a RB in the draft at all than take one in round 1.

Going back to the genesis, I said let's see if Howie does the unthinkable

I agree that it's highly unlikely as you've pointed out. We likely end up with someone line Van Ness or Kancey.

We'll see, I think several guys are in play. Howie has stressed since the season ended they won't draft for immediate need if the BPA is a long-term projected guy they like. That could point to CB. All things even though on their grading, I think he'll always favor the lines.

In hope its one of the CBs or trade back

Keion White is 24 and Van Ness is 21.  That's huge

All things being equal it’s huge , but they’re not equal

Miles was a 2 - I still don't buy the rhetoric that Howie would never pick a RB high.  He's done it before.

I do believe that we end up with at least one DL in the 1st round.  I'm hopeful that Bijan is the other pick.

I forgot Sanders was a 2nd rounder. I still don't think Howie drafts one in the 1st round

Good bull rush, I'd be impressed if it was against Jordan Mailata...

Not going to be able to bull rush 300 pound short armed tackles in the NFL every play.

I like Van Ness don't like him at 10 not even a little.

I don't want him at 10 either.  Posted my scenario a page or two back.  Trade back, get extra picks (2nd hopefully).  Van Ness in the teens.  Trade up with extra picks from 24, take Bijon.  2nd round, Syndey Brown and Cody Mauch.

Hmmm

The Giants have had a weird offseason.

But never in round 1 and Miles Sanders ended up not really working out. He never gained much favor with the coaches and they didn't re-sign him. I think after how things went down with the Sanders pick it's going to make Howie less likely to draft a RB that high again. Don't forget when they drafted Sanders they came off of a couple years of really strong RB draft classes and they wanted to address RB in those drafts and they missed out and I think Howie got antsy that year and made a rash decision to just take a RB in the 2nd round. I think it's likely he regrets it and won't do it again barring something absolutely insane like Robinson falling to the 2nd round.

But they just have too many long-term holes at key positions to waste a pick that high on a RB. They had the best rushing attack in football in 2022 without many key resources dedicated to the position. Don't even see why they'd think they need to invest more in there, honestly. Their OL makes their running game. And Hurts. If anything, it would be wiser to use one of those picks on another OL to ensure that their OL continues to thrive so they can have success with a variety of different backs. As long as their OL is strong, they can have a championship running game with virtually anybody who doesn't absolutely blow.

And this is all coming with the assumption that Robinson has zero bust risk. I think he's going to be really good, but he's not guaranteed to be a superstar RB. He has risk like every other player. I think RB in the top 10 is a non-starter with no exceptions, but if you take a RB in the top 10 he better be light years superior to every other RB in his class. Like the difference between Aaron Donald and Marlon Tuipulotu kind of gap. Because if you can get a guy in the 3rd or 4th round who can give you 80% of what Robinson does, it was a wasted pick.

Doubt it's the Eagles. He's going to get in the ball park of the other safeties, and if the Eagles let CJGJ go because they didn't think he was worth the money, it wouldn't make any sense to turn around and pay an inferior player the same general money.

I really like Van Ness length I'm sick of eagles having DEs that are 5'10" 260 pounds... But tweeners also worry me.

He's not quite twitchy enough to be a pass rushing DE and not big enough to be a DT.

Some people said the same about JJ Watt as well so...🤷‍♂️
