We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Ika from baylor is a dude i like. He and Davis would be nuts

Don’t think the’ll go that route, another huge DT like Davis. They’re more likely looking at a quicker type (Pittsburgh kid).

Wonder if he said anything about how long he's going to play. An extension is surprising.

I've been going back and forth on something.

Last year with 3 first round picks, Howie pushed one to this year to spread out that draft capital and give us flexibility (speculated contingent on how Hurts performed).  Well, Hurts performed and we have two picks.  Furthermore, we have quite a few picks next year, so there is less motivation to stock up there.  Finally, we have quite a few holes to fill this year given the current state of the roster and cap.

With 10, I feel like we need to fire that bullet somehow.  Trade up, down, etc.  But use that pick to eventually get a player.

But what about #30.  If someone comes and offers a future first and another pick (lets say 3rd), do you take it?

It's tough because there is so much parity in the league year to year that it's tough to judge which teams are going to suck.

I mean if it was guaranteed to turn that pick 30 into a top 10 pick next year you take the deal all day but the uncertainty gives me pause...

Extension and restructure.

Regardless this would make drafting an OT of the future at 10 more dubious. Need a backup OT but 10 doesn't seem like the spot

Well there it is, Lanes annual contract re structure.

How much cap does this create this year?

Depends who is on the board and what team but certainly open to it. Would probably make the trade and get cheap rookie after bg kelce cox are off the books.

whats the contract for pick 30 look like? Or is it technically 31 still from a slotted contract perspective?

This takes OT off the board at 10 IMO. Does NOT take OL off the board at 10. Skoronski still fits.

Hearing close to $10m which is probably not too far from the mark.

Pitt kid is over rated.

hell give Davis some run at 3T he could be a monster there

Why? This doesn’t stop Lane from retiring after 2024. He’s only getting $30M guaranteed, some of which he’ll probably give back if he retires then. We won’t be cutting him ever.

I don't think they'd pick an OG at 10

He's not going to retire then.  He blew bonus money early in his career with the suspension. He's going to want to deposit these checks for a few years while they are there to be had

I think it depends on what the board looks like. I think they're 80% likely to go DL, but if their board gets wiped out, they have to pick someone.

Agreed. They will likely go DL at this point.

Wow, Lanes contract is like Howie's little cheat code for the cap.

Every year he does something with Lanes contract to free up cap space.

Clearing up 10 mil with the reported 14 mil they had would give them, let's see, carry the 3 divide by the square root of 7 and multiply by pi... Cross the I and dot the T.

24 million in cap space no???

That seems like maybe enough to pay a decent safety...

I’m not disagreeing with you. Just don’t think the’ll go with another monster DT after adding Davis last year.

Holy smokes, that's QB money.  Never seen a non-QB get that much.   It's just gotta be some way to push his cap hit around.  Who knows if his body or mind will even have him interested in playing in 2026.

Yeah think you are right but 10 is too high for a guard

Still have to plan for his age/health

Damn, I turned off the UCLA-Gonzaga game with a few minutes left and went to bed. Looks like I missed a classic.

Seeding, just like the score should have been in favor of Gonzaga. The KSU-MSU game was pretty intense.

If I'm drafting a guard at 10, he better be Zack Martin.

I still think day 2 is the way to go for OL.
