If you could trade back a few and get him, then get Gibbs at 30. I think that's a pretty good first round even though I'm not 100% sure if I really want an o/lineman in round 1. But I'd look at the silver lining. I'm not sure if they are just handing RG over to Jurgens for the year to save money and get your 2nd rounder onto the field. It does make some sense.

Trading down from 10 is a no brainer to me if we have the opportunity. We can drop down 5 spots or so, grab ann extra 2nd rounder, and still get someone like Jones, Banks, Van Ness, Murphy, etc.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Think there's a better chance Gibbs is there in the 40s than him going in the 20s. Breece Hall was a total stud and fell out of the 1st.

I like Gibbs more. He’s way more dynamic even if Hall profiled as a better pure workhorse. Hall is not the kind of guy who can do the things that Faulk or Westbrook or CMC can do. Gibbs is.

Basically, Gibbs’ skill set is more rare and valuable.

KR in college, but not PR.

I've heard the NFL is considering adopting the college rule of allowing fair catches on kickoffs where the ball would be placed at the 25-yard line.  That would counteract teams who have become proficient at hitting high, shorter kickoffs inside the 5 yard line.  That would further reduce the impact of a return specialist in the NFL.

Wish they would either just get rid of Kickoff all together and just start the game at the 25 or switch the rules to how the XFL does it, which decreases high impact collisions and chance for injury but still keeps the KR aspect in play.

We only threw to RBs like 10% last season, obviously likely due to having 3 elite pass catchers. If we take Gibbs I would like to see that number increase a good bit. But this still doesn't solve for the need of an every down RB who can take carries away from Hurts.

Metcalf was 20 pounds lighter. Gibbs has an actual RB body. Gibbs is also a tenth of a second faster in the forty.

I agree that they have similar receiving ability, but Gibbs projects much better as a RB.

Metcalfe was about 190 so not 20 pound less but 10.

Almost same size similar skill sets to me, though Metcalf was also a dangerous returner,

Agreed I like Gibbs but he's not going before 30. I doubt he'll go in rd 1.  This is just recency bias because his was the last workout. He's an early 2nd rd type of guy

So we now have ~23M in cap space? ~12-13M in effective cap space after rookie escrow. Now it's time to sign JJIII.

Yup, it was interesting how little they threw to the backs this year, when in Indy and SD Siri and Steichen threw a lot to RBs.

Hines in Indy was a weapon out of the back field and I thought gainwell would kind of adopt that role but it really never materialized and maybe that's due to Smith Brown and Goedert, I mean why dump it off to a RB when one can consistently push the ball down field to those 3?

It’s a luxury more than a need. I’d prefer a true 3 down back over a pass catching specialist. We have all kinds of role players in the RB room - pass catching/3rd down (Gainwell), Penny (3 downs but injury risk), Scott (Gainwell backup and KR), and Sermon (TBD, likely not on roster come September).

Is the plan at LB to give both Dean & Morrow the nod at MLB & WLB to start camp and evaluate from there? I think they both deserve the opportunity but I hope we can pivot if one or both don't pan out via trade or waivers.

Makes me think we will not draft a LB before day 3.

Someone on Twitter mentioned they would have signed CJGJ if they had done Lane first but my contention is that they always knew they'd have this space and could have signed CJGJ then if they wanted.  I still think they are waiting for value to drop one more notch

I can agree with that, I mean with Reid his RBs were a big focal point of the pass game( Duce, Westbrook) because the WRs were mediocre, I think if goedert weren't such a threat than maybe those targets could go to a receiving back.

The rams with faulk had stud WRs holt and Bruce but their TEs weren't really involved the pass game so targets that might have other wise gone to TEs went to faulk, plus he lined up in the slot as a WR all the time as well.

If a RB Gibbs or say gainwell could do better than Watkins as the 3rd WR then might be worth spending a 1st rounder on Gibbs but as the roster is constructed now how many targets would Gibbs actually see?

Get Johnson for like 5-7 per year on one or two year deal and draft a rookie like Sydney Brown

Broderick Jones could play OG and move to OT down the road as well, but with more upside.

Love the player but do you bench Jurgens again? Or have jones sit a yr before guard and 2 before tackle? Bad resource allocation

Those players go early and we shouldnt be this high again, but i am think lanes new deal pushes his heir off a year unless you get a raw kid later (with picks we dont have this year but lots of next yr)

Not enough to warrant that high of a pick on a RB in a deep class with the glaring holes we have this year and next

Eagles used to take LBs in the 2nd round all the time, seems they kinda went a different way because they never picked the right one.

I'd be fine if they dipped into the 2nd this year for a LB, as long as they picked the right one...

I have no idea what LBs might be there in the 2nd but if a highly rated LB is there maybe actually draft him Instead of these 1 year rentals year after year.

We’re getting ready to give our QB $59M a year. Let’s not waste a first-round pick on a position that is easily replaceable for near minimum deals.
