Ok this pisses me off. Should've just kept CJGJ then. Edmunds isn't good.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

There it is. I like it depending on the cost.

It's not like the price is the same.

Unless it's for like 1-2 million, the difference in the money would've been worth just paying CJGJ.

CJ wasn't going to happen either way it seems. I think there's more there than meets the eye and I suspect it may have to do with him dogging Gannon publicly.

Edmunds will get at least 5-6

Makes some sense apparently the eagles were connected to him last year in FA

I know when i hear Agholor, I think deep threat.  That take has to be click bait, right?

If the threat is dropping the ball in a key moment.

It's the 2nd week of free agency. He signed and terms weren't immediately disclosed. It's not going to be for a lot of money.

I like it if he plays well.

Steelers fans consensus is good box safety, struggles in coverage.

I know it’s ESP but actually a decent tweet.

No way, really? 😎

Talked to several Steeler fans on the inter webs and they all said Edmunds is solid and they are sad to see him go. Said he’s not flashy but he’s always in the right place and gets the job done. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Christian Svbotka, @svbotka: Is the Edmunds leaving a loss for the Steelers?

Starkey: I don’t think so, Dr. Svbotka, unless they do an absolutely horrible job of replacing him. Edmunds is an average NFL player. Nothing wrong with that. He did a nice job here. But if you can’t replace an average player, you have problems.

The problem with Edmunds is there was no splash to his game. In five years, he never forced a fumble, according to Pro Football Reference. He recovered one fumble. He averaged one interception (none this season) and one sack per season. His replacement might be on the roster in Damontae Kazee, who is more of the coverage type of safety. Goodness knows, the Steelers have enough run stoppers at linebacker now. They need coverage guys.

Edmunds often played as a de facto linebacker and did a nice job there. He had eight tackles for loss last season. He simply plays a position that is not highly valued in the NFL. The Steelers and every other team basically told him as much when he came back last season on a cut-rate deal.

I am not whelmed.

Was hoping for John Johnson, but Edmunds is okay I suppose.

Struggles in coverage. Still holding out hope for a draft pick early to address safety (Branch, Brown, Skinner)

I expect Hurts to be extended in the 1st week of April. Any deals signed by March 31st has to have the money put in the escrow account immediately. Any deals after have till March 31st next year.

The Eagles will announce his extension on the Phillies home opener.  Can't let them be the big dog in town.

Not a huge fan of PFF but it seems like the biggest difference will be the turnovers.

The best way to describe Edmunds is replacement-level. You're always trying to upgrade him, but he's not going to get beat out by most rookies. So he plays.

I actually think he’s a slight upgrade to Blankenship but i really don’t like that safety tandem in coverage. I don’t think either are good enough together to make it work well enough. I’d still love to have Johnson along with edmunds with Blankenship as the main backup

Where's Bacarty when you need him!

If we’re going to spin safeties and leave one in single high, this isn’t a great pairing with Blankenship. Both of them IMO when charging down from safety.

Beat me to it. My guess is they see Blankenship as a third safety.

Now trade for Winfield Jr , Savage or Chinn and I'll be satisfied with the safety room
