I agree with the Eagles valuing premium positions and over-investing there. But man they take it to such an extreme. Need to see the salary for Edmunds, but there's a realistic possibility their entire LB and safety groups don't make even $5m/year total each.

They go so damn light at those positions. Maybe keep the same philosophy but move the needle an inch in the other direction just a little bit.

31 to opponent’s 9, 60 yards in the air. Impressive for an accurate pass.

For reference, only one ball has traveled 60 yards in the nfl over the last 10+ years, and that was on a Baker Mayfield hail mary

Stroud and Richardson were also throwing about 60 yards at the combine

That was the second throw I was referencing

If Edmunds was in this draft we’d be salivating over his combine numbers

Clearly Dawkins was a bum.

The offseason is now official.

So torn on DT and Edge... Do we go big DT like Mazi and smaller Edge like Nolan Smith...  Or flip that like big DE like Murphy/Van Ness and go smaller DT like Adebawore

Van Ness and Adebawore be fine by me, pound the pocket

They could be the Bears and pay Edmunds' brother $18M per year for 4 years to play LB.  He's a really good LB and I liked him a bunch coming out of college .... but I don't see the Bears getting $18M of value from a LB.

I haven’t bemoaned losing CJGJ much at all…but signing about 8 crap players on $1m contracts could have been a decent one at $8m.

I don't know.  I just think it's the Eagles not fooling themselves about what is in the market.  After the 1st day of FA, there aren't any sure thing type players.  It's possible they could have gone for Juan Thornhill but he signed for 3 years and $21 million very quickly.  They signed Bradberry instead.  I don't think there's an 8 million dollar player on the market.  Taking a chance on high round picks that didn't necessarily pan out on their first team is a good approach.

Is it? Does it have a high success rate? I honestly don't know but I don't remember it working

I thought he made sense as a Pascal replacement.

It might be time for him to be honest with himself about his hairline.

Kind of think Edmunds is currently better but Blankenship down the road might be. I still think there’s another shoe to drop cause i don’t think edmunds and Blankenship is a tandem you want to head into the season with

I like Edmonds at the line of scrimmage as a run defender

You keep running out this narrative that they treat safety like LB and won't ever commit money to it and that's not true.  They had both McLeod and Jenkins signed to long term deals.

Wonder if the broncos trade Hamler. Hasn’t done much at all since coming into the league but has been hurt a lot and if I remember the Eagles had interest in him prior to the draft. Wonder if Howie takes a flier on him as another injured guy with high untapped potential. Has the speed to replace Quez if they think Hamler has higher upside.

He has a torn pec now.

The longer we wait on WR, the more I think we might draft one early.

Goes to show how useless this combine stuff is that everyone here obsessed over.

Did signing Byron Maxwell work? My guess is the success rate is similar to high end FAs.  Miami signing Byron Jones was thought to be a much better deal than the Eagles trading for Slay.  Jones played 30 games and was cut with a $14 million dead cap hit.  Edmunds was a starter who has played well in the past.  He's an upgrade over Epps.  Epps got a 3 year $12 million dollar deal.  I would take the chance on Edmunds for a cheaper deal for a year.  Nicholas Morrow may be a downgrade from TJ Edwards or Kyzir White but he's an athletic starter.

I am fine with spending less on Morrow at LB than keeping White or Edwards at the deals they got.

No, I’ve already said multiple times that the Eagles will pay safety if they think they can get a blue chip, player, but if not they will look to go dirt cheap. They have no middle ground and they should be a little more flexible on that.

Was thinking that as well. We need to add one somewhere

Edmunds at least likes to hit. If you come from Pittsburgh, you're physical. Our defense absolutely needed more toughness.

My thinking too, he plays the run tough. Keep him closer to the line of scrimmage.

On the other hand I don't think the difference bewteen Epps and Edmuns is that great.  Not worth paying Epps imo

Would rather they take JSN in round 1 than Bijan Robinson if they were to go offense skill position.
