Another great scenario, although unlikely, is someone decides they want to get Hooker with a 5th year option and pay a handsome price to move back in to the end of round 1.

I’ve been hearing all day on NFL Radio that Hooker will go in the first round.  I’m not sure I believe it, but there’s a lot of smoke there right now

I didn’t think anyone would draft Lamar Jackson in the first round either, but it happened

I actually like Gibbs better as a receiving threat than a runner.  Not sure how well he'd function as a traditional RB at the NFL level; he's not a great inside runner and doesn't break tackles often.

He actually strikes me as a rich man's Gainwell, and I could see a switch to slot WR for him at some point.

For those who have been around for a while, a comparable could be Bobby Mitchell.

Metcalf was 20 pounds lighter. Gibbs has an actual RB body. Gibbs is also a tenth of a second faster in the forty.

I agree that they have similar receiving ability, but Gibbs projects much better as a RB.

As I said … Bobby Mitchell.

Am I crazy for thinking Evans is more likely to start at safety next to Edmunds than Blankenship is? Edmunds + Blankenship feels like a rough combo.

Teams could target Philly or KC at 30 or 31 to move up for Hooker and get the 5th year option.

Love the player but do you bench Jurgens again? Or have jones sit a yr before guard and 2 before tackle? Bad resource allocation

Those players go early and we shouldnt be this high again, but i am think lanes new deal pushes his heir off a year unless you get a raw kid later (with picks we dont have this year but lots of next yr)

Agreed 100% … and I was the original touter of Jones.  The return of Kelce made resource allocation a much bigger factor in where to draft OL prospects this year.  The Johnson extension only amplifies that resource allocation issue.  That is why my O-line focus has shifted from Broderick Jones to Cody Mauch, who can backup all five O-line positions, as well as be the RG of the future after Kelce retires in 12 or 24 months.

I think Blankenship starts this year, he wasn't bad last year. If he improves in coverage no reason he shouldn't be starting

I'm talking about period for our 3rd receiver. They barely get any targets. They shouldn't spend more than what they would for Quez on a number WR3. Preferably they bring in one that is a STs ace punt returner so we don't have to waist a roster spot on just a specialist.

Covey could be slot receiver.  He can also run.  I would like if he had 4.30 speed but he doesn't.  He had 180+ catches in college at Utah,  I don't see why anyone thinks he can't play WR.  He wasn't needed to.  He was a UDFA rookie who returned all the punts and a lot of the kicks.  He could run routes from the slot.  Quez is really more of a backup Z behind Smith.

ras compare covey and watkins.   Watkins is clearly faster,  Covey is clearly more agile.

They need a field stretcher for WR3. Preferably one that can play STs. Bonus points if he's a decent size and can block given our style of offense. Covey isn't a field stretcher. They get enough possession like plays from Brown, Smith, and Goedert. They need a guy that can take the top off and actually catch the bull and be respected a few times a game. Quez was almost it (minus the STs and size) he just can't stop jumping for no reason.

Embiid is so good. Sheesh.

Good time to be a Philly sports fan.  Nice.

Dont sweat it. The East is so brutal we wont get thru unless we get that 1 seed

Yeah, that’s why I’m losing to the bulls on Monday to put it at 3 games back was really bad. Was already an uphill battle having to go to GS, Phoenix and Denver on Thai road trip and likely without harden. Because if you are in the two or three seed, you’re going to have to face the Celtics in the second round. By the time you get to the Eastern conference finals, you have the bucks waiting there. The bucks at best case scenario get the cavs, which I don’t think the cavs are nearly as tough as having to beat Boston in the seven game series. So I’m guessing the bucks are gonna be fresher for that series.

Yes you are.  Overrranking draft level.  Both Evans and Edmunds were over drafted. That said, Edmunds is a good replacement for CJGJ.  I have mentioned McCollums before.  Could see him easily with Edmunds.  75% of the time Edmunds plays box (SS) with McCollum playing high or weak.  Thing is both have the speed to interchange with Ghost playing some nickel nd most dime packages. That said, all such prognosis are based on TV and not coaches film and TV is a lousy way to evaluate Ss.

Eagles Giants week 14  just started on NFL Network, some follow up to watch after Sixers game is over in a few minutes.

You have to work really hard to make ish as hard as the Sixers do. FFS.  Just unreal levels of self defeating behavior.

Howie is going to trade down from #10. There isn’t a position besides S, LB, RB that would be a day 1 starter or even really an active contributor, and he’s not going to draft any of those 3 positions that high.

They could easily find a significant role for someone on the DL they pick at 10, especially at DT.

If Edmunds and Blankenship play together, that'll be bombs away for offenses. I feel like you need a safety with more range and athleticism. Edmunds seems to have some at least, but I'd prefer he be the more physical/less athletic safety and play along side a safety who can cover.

Lost that game at the start of the 4th when it was a 9 point lead and sat embiid. Sometimes I think doc needs to get out of his routine. And just playing embiid for 2 mins to start the quarter and try to increase your lead to an amount that’s 15-18 points then give him a break

Gibbs could play LH and a big back as FB (Jim Brown type).  Penny.  It seems to me, more running backs, fewer wrs.   Wrs are often very expensive and often don't turn out as well as you'd want when you draft them.  A freakbeast QB instead of Quez Watkins.

Which scenario would you prefer:

1. Trade 10, 30, 2023 3rd for 5, 52 and go up to get Anderson Jr

2. Stay at 10 and take CB

3. Trade back

3 best, then 2, with 1 way way back

Jalen is so damn good.  He was in full MVP march in this game.

Quez is a field stretcher and if he isn't, what function does he serve?   That's a great 40 time.

I mentioned earlier, few weeks ago, that the Eagles should upgrade at the position of "fastest guy"
I thought maybe Achane,  with a 4.32 40 as a running back.   Mitchell East Carolina 4.37 and 1.48 10 split.
