We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Owner's Meeting starts tomorrow.  Might we seem some trade action?

Not really

Someone posted he played over 1200 snaps deep. That’s a lot for a guy they don’t think can cover in my opinion.

Was he any good at it though

PFF says between 60-70  (decent starter level)

His PFR AV is around 6 per 17 games which is also decent starter.

He's not Brian Dawkins but he's probably better than Epps.

WR3 gets limited targets but we need a guy that can make the most of them. I'm down on Quez. He doesn't make contested catches or routine catches in limited opportunities. Wouldn't be so bad if he offered something on STs but he doesn't.

Even his speed is overrated imo. He’s constantly getting caught and run down from behind. Outside of the blown coverage against Minnesota, I’m not sure he has a long play TD.

I never really cared for Maude (as a kid in the 70's), never really watched the Golden Girls, either. But I do wonder how many people here are old enough to get the reference lol.

This isn't directed to you, I'm just tacking it on here:

For the record, if anyone sends me a PM or email and I don't IMMEDIATELY read/respond to it, that's not me 'disrespecting' the sender. It's just me prioritizing my time and focus to much more important things. Give me a few hours or even a day and I'll reply, if a reply is necessary.

Just like you, my posts and responses are dictated by time constraints, among other things, these days.

The best thing about the Golden Girls was ALWAYS Betty White. What a generational comedic talent.

Lobbing hand grenades at Maude is an easy out for the yuks, but all those gals could bring the funny. Estelle has her shtick down, too.

Strange Magic.

Betty White

On the old EMB, someone was talking about her and I was shocked to learn that she had actually posed nude back in the 40's or 50's lol.

I think the "he isn’t won anything” is lazy. Herbert is damn good. He’d be a sizable step up from Hurts with our weapons, OL, coaching.

Yup

i would put hurts third and lamar last

And he had a lot more snaps in the box where he performed better

He might be. Gainwell shouldn't be handed that job.

Funny stuff. Watching James Cagney dancing in "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and listening to Melvin Taylor playin his "Kansas City Blues" at the same time and Cagney matches every step and beat....

WTF? The Universe is a flat circle.....

sorry...as you were...:smoke:

oh, and don't forget to check out Robben Ford doin the "Cannonball Shuffle"...Thank me later...:Eagle_smiley:

I’m really surprised about the Hurts / Herbert takes. I don’t think it’s even close.

I mean I guess he wasn't horrible. But he was a better player around the line of scrimmage. He's going to be in coverage at times obviously I just don't like the idea of him as a deep safety as his primary role. He has 5 interceptions in 5 years without missing many games at all and zero last year along with zero forced fumbles in 5 years. That's almost hard to figure as he plays quite a bit.

I still have a hard time putting Hurts ahead of Burrow at this point. Burrow comes across like a historical passer. But, then again, Hurts passing is rapidly improving and the projection is quite ridiculous.

Hebert is all talent but I’m wondering if he’s a mental midget (no offense of course). Something about the lack of consistent success of that offense is bizarre given their talent.

Burrow over Hurts is more than fair, it’s reality. Herbert is just stat padding until proven otherwise.

Watch out for Lawrence, he’s likely to take another big leap.

The producers had trouble casting Bea Arthur for Golden Girls; she turned them down originally.  Rue McClanahan called her to try to get her on board and reviewed who had been cast for it.  Bea said to her "I’m not interested in another sitcom where you play a dumb woman and Betty plays a trampy one”.  McClanahan told her "actually Bea, in this series they’ve cast me to be the promiscuous one and Betty to be the dumb one”

To that, Bea Arthur said "Now, THAT’S interesting”.  Sometimes, it’s all in the casting decisions.

Herbert’s arm talent is 2nd in NFL only to Mahomes. He has an absolute cannon and some of the accuracy he displays is ridiculous. I believe coaching affected him more than anything. I think his upside is off the charts. He’s also displayed toughness as well.

QBs in NFL history with a playoff win% under .300 and a playoff passer rating below 70. (minimum 4 starts)

  • Andy Dalton  0-4  57.8
  • Lamar Jackson 1-3 68.3
  • Billy Kilmer  2-5  68.6

Let me know if I missed anyone.

With Morrow being a minimum contract, he’s basically a training camp flyer or decent depth. There wasn’t a peep about Keanu Neal following his visit. I wonder if he’s still in play.

Nobody said the job should be handed to him, but given both their history in the NFL, which one do you think currently leads the competition?

Herbert has unreal arm talent. I don’t think there’s a chance this team goes 20-1 or whatever Hurts was at one point with anyone else besides maybe Mahomes though. Certainly not with Herbert. Hurts IS the system. A system league wide seen as almost unstoppable.

I was a huge doubter of his too. He changed my mind. Hurts is elite.

edit: Also before the injury Hurts deep ball accuracy was tops in the NFL.
