Man FAU is balling out

I don’t watch college basketball at except March Madness and I’m all the way in on FAU

depends on position but 3 cone is best for OL

Thats the beauty of data you can do a comprehensive analysis. No need to limit the degrees of freedom on the data

This is why I think doing the combine in full pads would be a great thing to do.  Testing guys how they move and play while geared up is so different than doing a 40 or a shuttle.

Would love to see the OL and DL drills in full pads.  Show me G doing a pull drill against a sled in full pads rather than in spandex hitting a bag.

Never going to happen but I think it would help the scouting process and gain viewership for the NFL.

Right, but it has become trendy for people who follow football to dismiss the 40 as overrated.

What I’m saying is that of all the tests, it is the single most useful test across all positions. A really bad 40 all but ensures a player does not have the requisite athleticism to contribute at the NFL level. A really good 40 all but ensures he does. Obviously you have to judge a player’s skill and such, but the 40 gives you excellent insight into the limits and upside of a player.

Not sure you get the difference between communism and capitalism.

Living in Kansas I'm obligated to root for K St.

Their point guard is pretty good.

Just like you, my posts and responses are dictated by time constraints, among other things, these days.

The best thing about the Golden Girls was ALWAYS Betty White. What a generational comedic talent.

Lobbing hand grenades at Maude is an easy out for the yuks, but all those gals could bring the funny. Estelle has her shtick down, too.

Strange Magic.

Even more crazy is Estelle Getty was younger than Betty and Bea.

I think you mean Cappies, but yeah that’s BS. That’s how I kept myself occupied on the toilet. Damn it.

Proud of my Owls! They have been playing outstanding ball all year. They out rebound you all game and are clutch shooters when it matters.

Looking forward to Gonzaga-UConn

Dusty May is about to make bank on this run by fau. I tend to think of Texas and uconn advance those are the two teams playing the best basketball of the tournament.

Reading explosion. Hope yall out there are ok

Tom Palmer was in my high school class.  Son of the namesake of the candy company where the explosion happened.

I went out to the EMB YouTube site and this was what came up

I probably would’ve done that deal. But I’d have done CJGJ too. Hope Howie has more on the horizon. The LBs and safeties as of right now are not Super Bowl caliber.

You would do almost any high end FA deal.  Money is no object for you.

I think I have completely struck out on my free agent prediction post.

Theres a bunch of names out there Im still interested in as we get to the super cheap period of free agency.

RB- Fournette, Drake, camp body type deal for Marlon Mack to see if he is over that achilles injury and recovered any explosiveness yet.

DE- Leonard Floyd

DT- Smoot, Ioannidis

LB- Deion Jones, Blake Cashman

S- Rapp, John Johnson

Convey is not the answer as #3 WR.  Lack of speed.  Allen has been on the PS for a whole season.  He has speed and played well in the pre-season.  Not sure if he is the answer on RS.  He got featured on team website after the season.  Maybe they are setting him up for the coming season.  By all means get other WRs with speed and RS via draft (late rounds) or UDFAs.  Just not a case to spend capital on it.

Brown is the one getting the slant routes and did well there.  Our WRs and TEs cover the intermediate routes well.  No enough passes to go around with them.  Speaking of which, the 12 personnel featuring both TEs with receiving AND block prowess would create a lot of problems for the defense.  Teams usually favor receiving over blocking.  The coaches need to insist on developing blocking to go along with the receiving and design plays for them.

I am not sure we have seen enough routes from either Covey or Allen to know if they have the ability to run NFL routes.  Likewise, I can’t say whether Quez plateaued or not.  Eagles know better than us but when Brown, Smith and Goedert are active the other receiving balls are to lend credence to the decoy and Quez’s speed and Gainwell’s, Scott’s and now Penny’s speed and hands are plenty fine for that.   Frankly, except as a starter, Stoll is good enough at routes and has good enough hands and same with Calcaterra that #4/5 WR is pretty far down my list.  Way I look at is Covey, Allen and Cleveland plus any UDFA (most likely from a BPA perspective) make the 53 based on STs.  Heck Burnett, the PS darling, is an XFL star.  Don’t sleep on Cleveland.  Eagles seem to like him and he is a bigger WR.  Not Pascal size but big enough

Speaking of STs. I wouldn’t be surprised, especially with the day 3 picks if Howie doesn’t focus more on STs ability this year.  Frankly, the Eagles lost the Super Bowl on the pick 6 but Jalen had redeemed himself and then the STs gave up a long PR.  Eagles really need to challenge Sisposs this year.  Was surprised the Smith tryout didn’t result in a signing or a future contract.  Really like him out of college. But blockers, tacklers and even an upgrade on PR and/or KOR should be considered.

ras compare agholor v watkins.

agholor 40 - 4.42 - not all that jaw dropping.  watkins 4.35

agholor had a very good 3 cone - 6.83 and a poor 10 split for a light WR - 1.59.

You started your post with "If”. If Gainwell can produce through a whole season at the level he produced in the playoffs then I’d lean towards Gainwell.  But that is just as iffy as having Penny pre-broken fibula.

I suspect we will see RBBC.

Both are extremely iffy. I wouldn't bet on either actually. Gainwell is a nice rotational back and Scott serves a purpose as well. Apparently the staff really likes Sermon and he will get a shot in camp. Add a back like Roschon plus Penny and I think that's a solid room. Gibbs is very enticing as well and gives a totally different element but does Howie go RB at 30 if he's even there or do we load up on young defenders...

I’m still baffled that we were so aggressive in signing Scott. He got more money than Damien Harris, who is a much better player. Considering the market was flushed with RBs, we would have been better served waiting it out. Scott is fine depth, but with Penny’s injury history, I think we need better secondary players. Gainwell and Scott aren’t good enough by themselves, and I don’t really want to spend a premium pick on an RB.

Trade back a little from #94, scoop up an additional 4th/5th and grab your guy Abanikanda

Nah its become over rated

like any other combine assessment, its meant to expose deficiencies more then show positive attributes

Always appreciate your input, BigE.

This. The game turned on a short field exchange, what a sh!tty punt. KC was built to take advantage of that, Our D was not built to defend a quick strike Offense, more a slow em down, drag em out D...

Lessons learned, maybe Desai has some new ideas...

Looks like Bolding Text didn't work, meant to hghlight the part about the PR...oh well...
