I just don't think it's going to work out for him like he thinks it might.  That's normally where coaches go to die

He’s hoping that it will be an excursion into the Amazon Jungle.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Waste of a roster spot. If you can’t contribute at all on offense you better be stellar on ST’s and he isn’t. Find a new UDFA guy that can do better.

Yep, they need to find a position player who can also return.  Takes me back to Brandon Boykin and how much potential he showed. Doesn't have to be a WR.  Could be any backup skill position player.

My initial offseason plan includes DeAndre Carter.  Could plug him in at slot WR and he's your return man.

How old is Carter? Feels like he’s been around for like 10 years

Context?

His radio persona was horrible and he did it to get listeners/be entertaining. If he actually didn’t do that, I think more people would like him. He’s not bad when he doesn’t act like the radio persona.

He was slightly more tolerable than Howard Eskin.

He gone/retired from radio.

He'll be 30 going in to next year.  He wouldn't be a long term solution by any means but it would allow the Eagles to focus heavy on defense, OL, RB in the draft.

If you ever see/get to meet Eskin, you’ll know why he is the way he just by looking at him.

Thank you.  I would ask who he is, but as I remember he was a radio shock jock back in 1989 when I moved away from Philadelphia.

Not sure if has been talked about but what about Jim Leonhard as possible DC?  His defenses at Wisconsin (which isn't being flooded with 5 star recruits) always seemed to have a defense ranked in the top 5-20 the past 5-7 years

Leonhard played in the NFL but I wouldn't trust a college defensive coordinator. Also, isn't he currently Wisconsin's head coach?

Braxton Berrios is interesting too. Didn't have a good year last year but 2021 was a pro bowler. I would at least investigate him.

He was the interim head coach and they passed him over for their permanent hire.  I wouldn't bring him in as a first time NFL DC, but I'd bring him in as DB coach if Dennard Wilson gets promoted to DC

I’m in no way suggesting using a draft pick on a returner.

I don't think there's really a such thing as drafting just a returner.  The team would be drafting a player that shows promise as a position player and as a returner.  I think it's fine to draft a player that has the most potential as a returner.  A 6th round RB, DB or WR, isn't likely to play significant snaps on this team at a position.  Contributing on returns is a viable role that has good value.

Nope.  His voice is the audio equivalent of a cheese grater to the balls.

He was interim for their bowl game I believe.  Currently, he's not on any staff.  I would 100% look in to him, if not for DC then some sort of position coach on D.  If Wilson was to be promoted to DC, Leonard would be great for the DBs.

Time to start looking at draft prospects in depth now.  Getting a late start this season because of the run to the Super Bowl.

So far I have the QBs as Stroud, Young, Hooker, Levis in that order but we'll see what a second look does.

No

Derius Davis of TCU is a UDFA possibility as a PR/WR.

interestingly enough Covey’s 9.3 yard average return as a PR would rank him 16th in the NCAA for the 2022 season.  It appears that the improvements in Punter efficiency and effectiveness has severely impacted Punt Return stats.

Did you mean NFL season or NCAA season?

Mikey Miss had a much more emotional send-off than Cataldi did.

He’s been the host of the morning show on WIP since so they are making it out to be a big deal but it feels like no one actually cares.

Covey’s 9.3 average was in the NFL season.  That 9.3 average would be ranked 16th for all the hundreds of NCAA punt returners in 2022.

In the NCAA Davis ranked third with a 14.9 yard average return.
