Who would teams be trading up for? I don’t see a lot of talent sitting there at 10 that’s vastly different than 15-20.

Maybe a QB falls and someone wants to jump the Titans?

OL, DL, WR, QB, CB…

This class doesn’t have a ton of can’t miss prospects but it is deep with "niche” players that are either scheme specific or have extreme talent in one area while being deficient in another.

So while on paper it is a deep class and we as fans might see some players as interchangeable, I imagine that inside NFL front offices they will have wildly different grades on players who are of similar overall talent. So if "their guy” is available at 10, they might not want to wait around until 15 to see if he’s still there even if there are 2 other guys at the same position with similar grades in the public’s eye.

Has anyone else not watched a single clip of the SB yet? I can’t bring myself to do it. That hurt more than any loss of any team in my life. More than ‘05.

Nope. I just think it's the way that the game played out that makes me so salty. It also really irks me that a choice made by the league had such a large impact on the game (the field) so it leaves a massive "what if." Also F Gannon.

It was still a great game and we know we can hang with KC when we meet again

I saw at least one play live where Reddick looked like he was about to rock Mahomes world but he slipped and fell instead.  The field conditions ruining that game is so very disappointing.  We might have lost either way, but at least we don't have to wonder 'what if'.

Some of the Eagles early Midnight Green were also made by Starter and yea, 1995, Randalls last year is when they had the stitched on numbers, easy to tell because they had a shine or reflective effect.

It's also interesting that certain teams use different jersey templates.  The Packers for instance, even though they are using Nike jerseys, don't use a Nike jersey template, they still use the Reebok template. It think there are 1 or 2 other teams that still use pre-Nike templates. They use the more traditional jersey template with the seam going across the upper chest creating the shoulder and sleeve area.  The also use the more traditional mesh and thicker nylon/cotton that adds the shine to the shoulders (same thing that could be used for shiny pants).

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst provides new timeline of Aaron Rodgers trade request

Here you can see the Eagles when they used to use the old template.  Nike logo, Reebok template.

Philadelphia Eagles 2014 offseason preview - CBSSports.com

The current template is the Nike Vapor Pro, which you can see doesn't have the seem like the one, rather has the seem on ther shoulder cap.  You can also tell the material is different and the green is an entirely different color.  For all of the hype around jersey technology, it seems to me the new ones hold sweat more than any of the old mesh ones do.

Jalen Hurts.

At least they got rid of the horrible Flywire

Nike Flywire vs Nike Vapor. The current jersey are prob. a better fit while wearing shoulder pads but wearing the jersey as a fan… ehh. The Flywire jerseys just felt much more

The Flywire also created a terrible collared look for some teams because apparently the technology didn't allow them to use the same color for the collar to go the whole way around the neck.

If my recollection is correct, the reason the Reebok template was used by the Eagles after the move to Nike was their inability to get even close to the colour.  And maybe even the type of material on the jersey - the fans got what they got in retail, the players didn't.  Once the issues got sorted, the style of jersey changed for the players

With a shout out to @BigEd76for the excellent threads he maintains,  @just relax (bring back the Mule!) these are the OL the Eagles have shown interest in so far:

OT Matthew Bergeron (Syracuse) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Paris Johnson Jr. (Ohio State) -- Official Visit
OT Broderick Jones (Georgia) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Dawand Jones (Ohio State) -- Official Visit
OT Cody Mauch (North Dakota State) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Wanya Morris (Oklahoma) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Darnell Wright (Tennessee) -- Indy Combine

OG Jake Andrews (Troy) -- Senior Bowl
OG Anthony Bradford (LSU) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OG Asim Richards (North Carolina) -- Indy Combine
OG O'Cyrus Torrence (Florida) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OG Andrew Vorhees (USC) -- Indy Combine (formal)

Howie was busy with futures and PS extensions with signings of Tyrese Robinson (slug IMHO), Fed Johnson, Roderick Johnson, and Julian Good-Jones.   ASI see it, the Eagles biggest hole is RG, even if Jurgens plays there in 23 because I doubt Kelce plays for much longer than this season.  Also need depth at backup G, C and OT beyond Driscoll  I actually thought Toth had potential but they recently exposed him, so ?  I am pretty much done with Opeta.  Appreciate your thoughts on Torrence although he seems like questionable clay at this point,  Vorhees is interesting.  How would you address the depth and future needs?  (BTW, thanks for rejoining us.  You were sorely missed.).

The reason I think OL will be taken high in the draft is the hole at RG.  If they didn't sign anyone in FA, it leads to a decent draft being used now, as they did with Dickerson and Jurgens. Especially if the draft isn't a strong one

Not many players on this list that you’d be happy with given their draft capital.

No.  There is a lot of mutual respect and support between the teams.

Can't believe Pat actually stayed with this girl all through HS and that his brother most likely makes more than any of us by recording himself doing 15 second dance clips that people for some reason like?  Cannot stand either one of their faces.

Picks past 20 don't hit often at a lot of positions

Probably the usual 1/3 good, 1/3 ok and 1/3 bust ratio… but to even get an okay LB in the 1st ain’t so pretty.

I get your argument.  But just because I get your argument doesn't mean that you've actually won the argument.

I'm suggesting that there is a position, called versatile back,  lines up typically at Left Halfback.  And pretty much anybody can play that position.  You don't want huge players running deep routes and light players pushing.

There is much that Mailata could do.  Push and be pushed seem to jump out.  He'd be part of a wedge.

Football is generally dangerous.  If Mailata is out there as a versatile back, he's putting more hurt on them.   You innovate with these players.  I'm throwing to him and he's lateralling back.  Things like that.  Many Eagles could learn a handful of plays.  Mailata would largely be an additional blocker. And he can make TDs.  He can push Jalen or have Jalen push him.

He's already a blocker, why take one of your best run blocking o line man and replace him with a lesser run blocker to put him in the backfield to block? Seems a bit redundant no?

As for Mailata Running with the ball why?

Jalen is nearly perfect at running QB sneak plus has Mailata ever taken a snap from under center.

I'm not trying to win an argument merely pointing out the ridiculousness of some of these scenarios.

Why make football harder than it is by asking guys to do things they aren't good or comfortable at?

Want a versatile back that lines up at left half back put a versatile RB back there, a FB a TE, guys that are used to running with the ball in their hands,  heck put a 2nd running QB back there but taking a starting LT and putting them their sounds pretty ridiculous.

Putting guys like cox back there, those are plays you run when your up by 30 with a minute left, it's little league stuff, one doesn't make it a regular part of the offense.

Very first 3rd down by KC Sweat beat the OT has a bead on mahommes and then slips and falls down.

On a suitable playing field that's at least a hurry/hit instead mahommes calmly sits back there zero pressure and delivers a strike.

That field was atrocious and played a huge factor in the game, which a field other than in inclement weather conditions should never be a factor, the NFL explicitly plays super bowls in warm weather stadiums and domes to avoid bad field positions that that field was how it was was a total farce.

All MLB games the first 2 weeks of the season should be in the south or out west. The Os are playing in Boston. It’s currently 40 here in Baltimore so it’s probably 25 there. Stupid.
