This is why I wouldn't extend Nola.

How do you give up 9 runs in an inning?   🤦‍♂️

Nola is in postseason form. My biggest concern with the staff was nola having a hamels type down year. Hamels pitched a career high innings after they won the World Series and next year wasn’t very good.

Jalen Carter has been red flag after red flag since before the combine.  You have oeople from across the football world saying these things and I haven't really seen anyone come to his defense.  Nothing about him says he's a can't miss prospect.  Now, I know a DT can impact a game in many ways besides stats but his production is garbage compared to other players at the same position and while Warren Sapp is a HOF player, maybe are talking about Carter like he's on the same level.  He isn't.

-Carter played in 35 games in his career.  He had 44 tackles, 6 sacks and 18.5 TFL.  Now, the positive I take away from that is that 42% of his tackles were TFL

-Let's compare that to Warren Sapp, another player with red flags coming out of college.  Over 3 years, Sapp had 176 tackles, 19.5 sacks.  Sapp nearly quadroopled Carter's production.

-Calijah Kancey played in 1 less game than Carter and had 52 tackles, 16 sacks and 34.5 TFL.  66% of his tackles were TFL.

-Carter appeared to be lazy and winded in games which continued in his offseason workouts.  Kancey plays wtih extreme intensity and he tested the same way.

Give me the guy who produced, played hard and tested at the top of his position 10 times out of 10.

I'm all about moving down a few spots and taking Kancey. He'd be such a perfect compliment to Davis inside.

Bohm specifically is having an awesome day.

Assuming very low cost Street seems like a good signing to add to competitive mix at DT for 4th spot

Agreed. Should be an upgrade over Tuipalotu.

Next year, you can have him.  Desmond Watson, 6-5 450.

,UF's Desmond Watson starting to make an impact for Gator defense

That’s a prototypical #00 if I ever saw one

Still wouldnt mind dexter to develop at DT when fletch is done

Yeah offense really ain’t the problem. If you score 6 runs in a game started by degrom and nola on the mound you should win. Soto their trade pickup from the tigers looked awful too. I think nola is gonna have an 09 hamels type of year. The amount of innings and how deep the Phillies went is likely gonna catch up to him this year.

Been looking a lot of mocks over the last couple of days for the first time. For those that want a corner: Gonzalez to the Raiders at 6 seems to be a trendy pick and some mocks even have Witherspoon going before the Eagles as well.

If both corners are gone, and assuming Anderson and Wilson are gone the Eagles have five options.

1. Gamble on Jalen Carter, although he might be off the board as well.

2. Draft Skoronski or Johnson, which is probably a year earlier than they need to draft an offensive lineman.

3. Say F the defense, we are going to score 35+ points a game and draft Smith-Njigba

4. Just draft their choice of a Murphy/Van Ness/Smith/Kancey

5. Trade back a few spots and still have a choice of some of those guys

That's what really makes this draft and that 10th pick so fascinating. You could make a good argument for doing a number of different things.

1. Tried talking myself into him but as bpac pointed out earlier too many red flags with no one rushing to defend any of them

2. Johnson>>Skoronski but I hope we don’t draft either. Any other draft they are day 2 picks

3. Back and forth on JSN but 10 is too rich

4. If they get these guys it would be nice to trade back to ~15

5. See above

All roads lead to CB or trade the pick. If no takers for a trade back, trade for Simmons.

To be honest you don’t have much of an argument, nobody really needs to "win” against you here.

But You're Arguing With Me.

You aren't winning.

I have a long list of QBs and other players who play or have played multiple positions.   You can't make those players go away simply by not liking that that happens a lot.

Ever thought about changing your screen name to Random Irregular?   Your thought of recasting is littered with failures and JAGs.   The remainders are trick plays from a player’s regular position. Thus irregular .

So,  just attacking me?

Maybe you just aren't smart enough to understand what I'm saying.

I'm not saying that some player is dragged away from their position.  I'm saying that some player who is playing their position will also do something else.

I give specifics.  You give nothing.

I'm getting more on board with trading back, assuming someone really good doesn't unexpectedly fall. This team is old in some key areas and the defense and OL is going to need to be rebuilt to some degree so these next two drafts are going to be huge. We need more picks. I have seen scenarios where we trade down to the late teens or early 20's and I want no parts of that. However, if they can move down to the early teens I don't think the talent they could take there will be any different than at 10. Have to hope that Levis falls or that someone really wants one of the OL. Maybe something like 10 to the Pats for 14 and 76. The best case scenario would be if say Houston really wants to jump the Titans for some reason and you move back from 10 to 12 and 73 from them. Obviously you need to find a trade partner but I would think there will be some opportunities to move back.

Arm length is the biggest difference from what I remember. Which is important for an undersized guy.

You don't really need to remember anything.

Donald is a Hall of Famer.

Here is the RAS compare of all of their numbers.

You can look at all the numbers.

That, above,  is the link.   Kancey v Donald.

the numbers are there.

I’m a big fan of Mike Morris , he wet the bed at the combine but his on field play doesn’t lie , some team will get a DL steal

UM has some very attractive defensive players in the draft.

Right. 2 inches is huge.

I like Kancey, but that arm length is kind of a big difference in their athletic profiles.

6. Draft Jalen Carter and make him the H-back
