We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Howie probably hung up the second his agent asked for a two-year deal.

WRONG.  The biggest hole right now is punter.

Could I have you come up to do an assembly at my kids school about the dangers of bath salts?

Yes.   We can study the negative effects of Bath Salts on Outlaw.

And again,  I understand that you don't like my ideas, but you have nothing to rebut them.

That's ok,  you're damaged by Bath Salts.  Whatever they are.  You obviously know.

Reading between lines Eagles seem interested in taking a CB but not at 10. Probably same with OL. Still think they are taking DE and probably Smith. And yes people think that’s too early until the kicks come out in 2 weeks with him going at 8 and then you’ll hope he falls 😀

Skoronski is a terrible fit for this team, but you're undervaluing him here. He's a top 15 guy all day.

No way, not in my eyes at least

Why is he a terrible fit?

I honestly don't know him, but as I understand he can play at both tackle positions and guard. Isn't that ideal for the Eagles? He can be the 6th OL in 2023, compete with Jurgens for the RG spot, and become the starting guard in 2024 when Jurgens moves to center.

He's already a blocker, why take one of your best run blocking o line man and replace him with a lesser run blocker to put him in the backfield to block? Seems a bit redundant no?

As for Mailata Running with the ball why?

Jalen is nearly perfect at running QB sneak plus has Mailata ever taken a snap from under center.

I'm not trying to win an argument merely pointing out the ridiculousness of some of these scenarios.

Why make football harder than it is by asking guys to do things they aren't good or comfortable at?

Want a versatile back that lines up at left half back put a versatile RB back there, a FB a TE, guys that are used to running with the ball in their hands,  heck put a 2nd running QB back there but taking a starting LT and putting them their sounds pretty ridiculous.

Putting guys like cox back there, those are plays you run when your up by 30 with a minute left, it's little league stuff, one doesn't make it a regular part of the offense.

In situations where the Eagles want to have better run blocking and the Eagles have drafted OLs who are sitting on the bench.   You want to give snaps to the OL you drafted.   You can put Cam Jurgens in as a FB.  This year he might be starting RB, maybe not, but last year he barely played.

I don't have the same concerns as you do about keeping a player in the same place all the time.  I prefer a dynamic offense,  that changes.

Lane Johnson caught a TD in a regular season game.  If Lane can do that,  any number of other players can too.

If Cox is put in when the outcome of the game is not in doubt,  what you're doing is determining if he can do it.  If he can do it,  you can use him in more situations.

You know the QB push play,  the one where some put tush in there.  Having more big players in there should make that play work better.

You understand that I'm not pulling some player out and keeping them out. I'm using these players situationally.

The VB slot could be Mariota and it could be Mailata and it could be the fastest player on defense and it could be any number of players.   Those players would be used depending on the situation.  Mariota and Mailata don't do the same things.  You can get a more dynamic offense when you use dissimilar players in the same spot at different times.  Mailata,  Lane, Kelce, Jurgens,  OL,  those would probably be goal line or short yardage situations,  and what you'd want to be doing there is giving TDs to your OL.  Or use them to push Hurts.   Seems pretty reasonable to me.  The Jumbo package,  which is not something I made up,  often uses extra OLs.

I don’t think he’s a tackle. He’s a guard. And as a guard, he’s kind of meh… he’s basically a finished product. All technique, not a lot of size, strength or athleticism.

The eagles should draft the opposite type of lineman because we have Stoutland. If I were Howie, I’d find the absolute best physical specimens that I could who also had the mentality to impose their will and work ethic to improve.

That’s our edge at drafting OL. We have Stout, and if we give him an athlete with a good work ethic and the mental will to kick the crap out of the guy opposite of him, that guy will become a pro bowl lineman. It’s a really simple equation for us that is incredibly complicated for other teams. So exploit it.

Big + fast + work ethic - raw skills = virtually guaranteed pro bowler. But only for us. We are spoiled.

1. Tried talking myself into him but as bpac pointed out earlier too many red flags with no one rushing to defend any of them

2. Johnson>>Skoronski but I hope we don’t draft either. Any other draft they are day 2 picks

3. Back and forth on JSN but 10 is too rich

4. If they get these guys it would be nice to trade back to ~15

5. See above

All roads lead to CB or trade the pick. If no takers for a trade back, trade for Simmons.

Myles Murphy will be there.

Makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

I just don’t like this draft. Bad year to have a top 10 pick that isn’t top 5.

It's so true.
Next year's top 10 will be ridiculous too. Would love to flip our 1st this year for next year's 1st.

It’s true.

A few years ago I managed a place where we would bring in college students for the summer employment co-op.  One of them said to me "you’re a hater”.  I thought for a moment and said "Yes, I guess I am.  I hate most things and people”

In this draft at #10 I like Witherspoon, Gonzalez, Murphy, Tyree Wilson.

At #30 I like Kancey, Gibbs, Banks, Porter, Broderick Jones, could MAYBE get talked into JSN or Nolan Smith.  #10 is way too high for those last two guys, though.

Trade back is my first choice, even if Gonzalez or Witherspoon are on the board.

This class is so deep at corner. I think you might be able to get Banks at 15 and he could end up being the best corner in the draft. Forbes at 30 would give us an incredible playmaker as well.

I wouldn’t be angry trading down twice or with a big trade down either. Add 2 seconds in this draft? Yes please! Add a future first and a third to go from 10 to ~25? Yes please!

The top 10 this year is weak, but there are a lot of similar level prospects between 15 and 40.

It feels like unless we pick Witherspoon or Gonzalez, any other choice would potentially be a head scratcher at #10.

I really want Howie to trade down for more '23 and '24 picks at this point.

This is the optimum outcome. #10 for 2023 ~#25, 2023 3rd, 2024 first.
