Someone made an interesting point on Jalen: you have to look at the per-snap production. Georgia has a loaded Dline that rotates constantly through a game. Additionally, they were often up by 30-40 points in the third quarter; he didn’t see much time in the second half for a lot of the season.

Had he played at Kentucky or Ole Miss or Miss State it’d be different. So you can pick any other full time starting DT in this class and they’ll probably have higher cumulative stats… but that doesn’t mean they’re better.

Without naming Carter, Howie said the same thing during his interview with Kelce.

Howie probably hung up the second his agent asked for a two-year deal.

So they wouldn't give Edmunds two years and/or more than 2 million per year, but they were willing to give an older inferior version of him two years? Bold move cotton.

I did a mock draft the other day where I landed Gonzalez, Kancey, and Mauch with my first 3 picks. Would be super ideal imo.

Chandler Zavala IOL from NC state is a guy that’s been getting more love recently. Wasn’t invited to the combine but people think he’ll be the highest drafted non combine invite, range is day 2/3. I like what I’ve seen so far. Could grab him in the 3rd & plug him in at RG or use as depth until Jurgens slides back to Center when Kelce is done. I’d honestly be ok with taking both him and Cody Mauch

I was surprised that @just relax did not have a high opinion of Mauch.  Hopefully he will expand on the sound bite he gave on Mauch yesterday.

Richardson's problems are probably more fixable than Allen's.  Richardson makes nice throws with good mechanics but is far from conistent.  Allen still has awkward looking mechanics at times.

Richardson is a whole lot faster than Allen.   10/10 RAS at QB, WR, RB.  I'd take him.

Top ceiling.  I'd take the top ceiling guy.

At least we'll have a direct comparison all year to see if the Eagles made the right move.

So clearly, the Eagles should draft Richardson and put him at WR.

Short arms (so might have to kick to guard) but doesn’t block with a ton of pop… a positional blocking G ain’t a great floor, but he does move well.

Nice to have you back, jr!

I like Brod Jones the best at OL. I'd be perfectly fine with him at 10.

That doesn't stop you at all from commenting on Eagles or football constantly.

And "The Bank" is always half empty at best outside of their World Series runs.

The average attendance at Philadelphia Phillies games in Major League Baseball in 2022 was 28,459.  The CBP capacity is 42,901.

I don’t think he’s a tackle. He’s a guard. And as a guard, he’s kind of meh… he’s basically a finished product. All technique, not a lot of size, strength or athleticism.

The eagles should draft the opposite type of lineman because we have Stoutland. If I were Howie, I’d find the absolute best physical specimens that I could who also had the mentality to impose their will and work ethic to improve.

That’s our edge at drafting OL. We have Stout, and if we give him an athlete with a good work ethic and the mental will to kick the crap out of the guy opposite of him, that guy will become a pro bowl lineman. It’s a really simple equation for us that is incredibly complicated for other teams. So exploit it.

Big + fast + work ethic - raw skills = virtually guaranteed pro bowler. But only for us. We are spoiled.

Have we figured out which round that Jake Witt is getting drafted in? That guy can run in shorts.

By giving an obtuse response like this after making a bait fishing post about Philadelphians.  One has to wonder why you root for the city’s teams.

I made a post about Phillies fans.  Not everyone in Philadelphia is a Phillies fan.  I am not a Phillies fan.  I'm a fan of the Eagles, Sixers and Flyers.  Don't at all care for the Phillies though.  This isn't a Phillies message board and this isn't a Phillies thread.  Not everyone is going to be a fan of the teams you are a fan of in life.

That's ok,  you're damaged by Bath Salts.  Whatever they are.  You obviously know.

I don’t need to rebut them. They’re AT BEST some kind of weird fantasy you have where every player should be able to play multiple positions.

In situations where the Eagles want to have better run blocking and the Eagles have drafted OLs who are sitting on the bench.   You want to give snaps to the OL you drafted.   You can put Cam Jurgens in as a FB.  This year he might be starting RB, maybe not, but last year he barely played.

I don't have the same concerns as you do about keeping a player in the same place all the time.  I prefer a dynamic offense,  that changes.

Lane Johnson caught a TD in a regular season game.  If Lane can do that,  any number of other players can too.

If Cox is put in when the outcome of the game is not in doubt,  what you're doing is determining if he can do it.  If he can do it,  you can use him in more situations.

You know the QB push play,  the one where some put tush in there.  Having more big players in there should make that play work better.

You understand that I'm not pulling some player out and keeping them out. I'm using these players situationally.

The VB slot could be Mariota and it could be Mailata and it could be the fastest player on defense and it could be any number of players.   Those players would be used depending on the situation.  Mariota and Mailata don't do the same things.  You can get a more dynamic offense when you use dissimilar players in the same spot at different times.  Mailata,  Lane, Kelce, Jurgens,  OL,  those would probably be goal line or short yardage situations,  and what you'd want to be doing there is giving TDs to your OL.  Or use them to push Hurts.   Seems pretty reasonable to me.  The Jumbo package,  which is not something I made up,  often uses extra OLs.

Cool. You prefer something that doesn’t exist. The rest of us will stay here in reality.

Awesome. Let’s draft a guy at 10 and convert him from a QB to a WR/RB/TE/P.

Again, back up.  There are 162 games.  81 games are in Philly.

42 games are between M-Th.  10 of those are day games. Right there, half the games are either during the work day, school day or on the evenings of work/school.  It takes a lot to bring the family to the ballpark when you have to work, fight traffic to get to the ballpark, then get home.  It's a commited trip when you have priorities.

66% attendance is pretty darn good when you look at it objectively.

How many times did the eagles run a play last year with a FB?

Yes jumbo packages use extra O line men, jurgens played an extra OL a couple times last year, technically he was an eligible receiver.

Teams have run tackle eligible for ages

Reid used to line up Nick Cole 6'0" 350 pounds as a FB on rare occasion, The fridge has a rushing TD in the super bowl.

Vrabel a LB lined up at TE in the red zone etc.

All those plays are fine, fun for the guys and can catch teams off guard but running those plays multiple times a game or as a constant part of the game isn't.

Mailata is a really good run blocker at LT taking him out to push hurts from behind makes one spot (LT) weaker and doesn't offer much flexibility as Mailata isn't going to take a pitch and outrun the D to the corner, a play they ran a couple times with Sanders, nor is Mailata going to be a serious threat to catch the ball lined up behind hurts or cause any mismatches, the D with Mailata in the back field or cox has less to worry about, it makes the offense less dynamic not more.

Sure it's always fun to see a fat guy with the ball but those are rare plays and the resin they're rare is because why would one constantly run those plays when it's more likely running plays with players that actually excel at their positions will be more successful.

The offense runs through Brown Devonte and Goedert and that offense was very efficient and successful, there aren't many opportunities for secondary guys like quez and RBs and backup TEs catching passes but yeah let's line up Mailata at FB and Lane at RB(VB) and Cox at TE every other play because it would be cool...😒

Here is a simple "am I trolling?” test.  Ask yourself, what is a constructive and/or intelligent reason why I am making this post/comment?  If you can’t come up with an honest answer to that question, then you are trolling.

Well if we want to really look at it objectively since all teams play 162 games, 81 games at home with those games taking place at those times, I went back over the past 10 years and took their average attendance over those years.  2020 is a wash because of COVID and apparently no teams had any attendance according to the ESPN's attendance stat page.  But in those other 9 seasons the Phillies have ranked 17th of 30 teams in attendance.  This for the 4th largest market in the entire MLB population wise with all of the markets larger than the Phillies splitting their fanbases between two teams in each of those 3 markets.

I have a long list of QBs and other players who play or have played multiple positions.   You can't make those players go away simply by not liking that that happens a lot.

You’re the kind of guy who thought Urban Meyer was a genius for signing Tebow as a TE. You should take your fantasies elsewhere so the blog can return to talking about realistic scenarios & best fits for the teams.

That is surprising, I think he could be great with Stoutland. Could put him at RG, use him as the swing tackle, possibly RT after Lane is done. I think drafting him creates a ton of beneficial situations for the Eagles OL going forward.
