Nolan Smith is a productive, high-character, athletic player from the back to back national champions. He has good football tape and good analytics. He just might be a bit undersized.

Ledyard is one of the better DL guys in the draft community.

I'm telling you we're 2 weeks from people hoping he falls to 10

I really like Smith, I think he would be a lot better in a 34.

Not sure how he would fit with current roster.

The Phillies attendance graph is strange if you look here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/246783/average-per-game-attendance-of-the-philadelphia-phillies/

2009 - 2011 attendance was ~45,000 fans per game, which is a sellout.

During the down years attendance fell to ~23,000 fans per game, which is quite a drop off.

They year the Phils signed harper attendance spiked back to ~33,000 which is good but well short of what it was in the heyday.  The 28,459 attendance last season is just ... bizarre given how good that team was.  That number was #19, just above the Nationals who had the worst record in the league.  Where was everyone last season?

I usually make it out to around 5 Phillies games a season. Admittedly I only went to 1 last season. I watched damn near every game, but I’m not sure why I only went out 1 time.

Putting aside his opinion on pressure being more important than sacks, an interesting look.

3rd in pressure rate behind only Parsons and Anderson is eye popping to be honest, along with the highest run stop rate, and 5th highest sack rate.

That is my concern. As a starting OLB in a 3-4, he'd be an absolute beast. Here...he'd mainly be spelling Reddick, unless they plan to use a traditional 3-4 alignment more often under Desai. But if the thought is that you would convert him to an off ball LB here in more of a 4-3 or 3-4 Over/Under scheme, that really isn't someone I want to take at 10.

McLane dropped another interesting podcast. He went in-depth on Lane Johnson’s battle with anxiety. It really is amazing he’s played this long through that and injury.

Really good read. Thanks.

I am absolutely shocked to see Will McDonald as high as he is in the run stop rate. I was under the impression that he was a pass rush specialist, only. And an older one at that.

When you look across the board in each of those stats, Will McDonald may be the best player out of this years group. His sack rate is also #1 on that chart.

Im not against Nolan Smith at 10 despite the odd fit. I think you can put him on the field anywhere and he will make plays.

But Ive also been in to the idea of McDonald or the App State kid (wish he was on this chart) a little later as better value alternatives.

This definitely confirms it with McDonald for me.

Yeah Philadelphia overall is a bit of a fanweather fanbase.  But the stats are clear, the Phillies fans are the most fairweather of all the teams in the city.

Maybe you should be the change.

McDonald will be 24 in 2 months

that’s a non starter for me , QB only exception

I think he's probably the favorite to be the Eagles pick when you look at who will likely be available at 10.  Wonder what they would do with him long term because he seems to fit that Reddick role.  Watching some highlights he rarely plays lined up with his hand on the ground.  I think they will ultimately re-sign Reddick when his contract is up in 2 years if they don't extend him before that. He likes being here and is one of their best free agent pickups ever.  Do they find a way to have two OLB edge rushers on the field with their scheme going forward?

It's like saying a baseball player who has 3 plate appearances in one season and goes 2 for 3 is a great hitter even though the following year he plays the whole year and is a .200 hitter.

Yeah, but if you average .667 with .200, you get a combined average of over .400. I’d say that’s great!

I go to the same isn't of games per year for the teams I'm a fan of regardless of how they do that season.  If anything probably less the better the teams are due to how expensive the tickets then get.

Traded down a few times.  Don't think any shot a lot of these guys go this late but drafted with what was given

The could put Smith at MLB on early downs and use a wide 9 type of scheme on passing downs with Smith and Reddick on the edge.

Really thinking Julius Brents is our 2nd round pick.  Big tall lengthy CB who gets to learn from Bradberry and Slay in red-shirt type season.

I’m just going to put my money on Carter to the Cowboys at this point.

If the Eagles don't take Carter and he's there then he has huge red flags because they love to draft that position.

When Eagles OC Brian Johnson was the OC of Florida,  Anthony Richardson had a passer rating of 228.4.

As a 3rd string QB that year,  he almost never played.  But 228.4 is not brutal.   228.4 is great.

I like the career rushing yards per carry of 6.9.

I can't think of a college running QB with a better career rushing yards per carry of 6.9.   And when you add 4.43 and 244,  I'm going to take the high ceiling guy.  10 Ras at QB, WR, and RB.  I'm going to take that.   If he's at the versatile back spot,  he's definitely a better choice than Mailata at that spot.   If I'm the Eagles,  I'd trade up to get him, even if it's way outside the box.   How often can you get that, if that's something you'd want?  Maybe you don't want that.  Maybe there are more pressing needs,  like backup OL, who needs to be ready in 2-5 years after Kelce or Lane stop wanting to be great in the NFL.

I would want Anthony Richardson on the field week 1 taking snaps from Quez.  Have him throw from that "Left Halfback" slot, whereever that guy lines up.   Split wide left or right,  at a Tailback spot.   QB factory?   Who in the NFL knows Anthony Richardson best?   Arguably,  Eagles OC Brian Johnson.   I was impressed by the final drive led by Anthony Richardson in the Cotton Bowl against Oklahoma.  1 27 yard run,  1 27 yard TD pass,  other good runs.   That was most of what he did that year,  and it was good. Anthony Richardson QB and Brian Johnson OC.

full game,  Brian Johnson's last game as OC.  Richardson is lined up as a WR here.

Anthony Richardson is Fing garbage, as a gator fan who had to listen to this BS all season.

He is a horrible passer. Horrible. He has a cannon and can run, that's about the extent of his QB abilities. Can't read a defense, his accuracy sucks, and he has no pocket presence. He had multiple games where he didn't score at all, rushing or passing. Dude is gonna be a JaMarcus Russel level bust if someone takes him in the top 10. He's a day 3 pick

...How and why would Kareem Hunt be washed? Was there some catastrophic injury that caused chronic degenerative knees? He was a feature back who put out consistent performance who proceeded to yield a large percentage of his snaps to Nick Chubb.

If anything, that should be a positive for his longevity, unless he didn't come back from the injuries. Now if you're arguing the contract he wants to be paid is the main issue, that's fair, but washed is harsh. It's not like this guy was taking Larry Johnson style carries.

Hunt hasn't broken 900 yards rushing since his rookie season and hasn't broken 700 all purpose yards since 2020, there's a reason he was getting less and less snaps, and it's that Nick Chubb and D'Ernest Johnson can both maintain 5.0 yards per carry plus in a team that Hunt couldn't even beat 4 yards with last year.

Guys…

Seems so obvious, but some just want to wrestle with pigs.

Not sure who the original quote is from...

"Never wrestle with pigs.  You both get dirty and the pig likes it."  - George Bernard Shaw, Mark Twain, or someone else entirely.

The entire premise of our team is score early, then defend the pass late.

We need lots of pass-rushers for this strategy to work. We should be going after talented DL early and often.

Dallas is the only team in the nfl that hasn’t drafted a 1st rd DT in 30 years. They’ve put no money into the position through free agency in 20 years. Jerry Jones does not feel it’s a relevant position to team success
