He was an assistant at Temple so he may have some Philly connections.  I think that Chicago defense was primarily a 4 down front.

Small game - I'm in a squirrel tournament tomorrow

And yes, I know you weren't asking

I bet I know what you do with the squirrels when you're done with them Richard Gere!

Peter King on Cowherd just now called the Eagles short yardage rugby play 'stupid' and 'not what the league was meant to be.' And that he'd be shocked if the NFL didn't outlaw it next season.

Those guys can pound sand. Hell, the NFL practically evolved from rugby.

This blowback is so Fing dumb. Thought the league was supposed to be about innovation.  Not when the Eagles do it though.

It’s not at all what the league wants so of course they’ll outlaw it.

Sure you know all about it. How much maple syrup is required, buddy?

Doing draft homework is sad. I'm excited for the draft and free agency, but Fall is my favorite time of year. Love college football on Saturdays and then NFL on Sundays. Watching college highlights just reminds me that we're like 7 months away from it all. The NFL offseason is the best because it lasts months. Unlike the NBA where like 90% of the stuff is done in like 2 days. But it's also the longest offseason. The time between NFL seasons feels like forever.

I thought that was Jim O'Brien.

And yet the league wants more scoring…

It’s just stupid. Hey just legalized ball carrier assist by teammates and as soon as someone starts doing it effectively they ban it?

I love the NFL offseason and its length. It keeps things fresh and gives you down time which I actually prefer. It’s nice to check out for a month here or there.

This is a good OL class. 3 OL are going top 15. There might be 3 pure iOL who go in RD1.

Of course. It’s too automatic. They’ll make it illegal to "aid the QB behind the LOS” or something like that. I’m not disagreeing with you but it’s been obvious for awhile that they’re going to make it illegal.

Just heard Reub on NFL Radio; he says CJGJ will be their top priority to sign … followed by TJ Edwards.

I expected him to say Epps, tbh

Well yeah if they can afford them. But I like keeping CJGJ, then Bradberry, Hargrave, then Seumalo, Graham.

Edwards will get us a high comp pick, and we already have Dean to replace him.

So wait.  If I am reading this right, they paid him money due in 2023 now. So instead of rolling the money over they just paid him now.  So, net savings = 0.

So I’m either missing something (very possible) or this is the biggest nothing burger of an article.

I like Robinson and Gibbs more, but they'll be 1st round picks.  I might slot Evans just above Charbonnet.  You'd likely need to hope Evans is still on the board at #62 overall.

I like Israel better than Charbonnet, Evans too. I mean Robinson would look awfully good behind this line but I don't think they would take a RB in round 1. Especially since we will be losing a decent amount of players. I like Gibbs but he's a pretty high pick too so I don't see it. I would prefer a back with more power than Gibbs anyway.

The NFL and it's media are a bunch of pusses and snobs.  More obsessed about the "purity" of their sport than allowing teams the freedom to adapt to the rules and get an advantage.  If they really wanted it to be good, they'd use eye in the sky so plays like the Goedert face mask would be punished.

I was thinking the same thing. It's either that scenario, or it just got prorated across all the void years which will come due when he retires. I guess if he comes back and gets extended it would keep it prorated across future years.

Correct, paying these bonuses now before the new league year starts created 2.4 million more space for the 2023 season. Guessing if Kelce comes back it will be just for 2023, however he will be on the books in 2024 and 25.

With CB and DE being really deep in this class I wonder if Howie would consider Bijan in the first with a trade back if they were able to get another 2nd rounder out of it... Something like .

Right.  But at the end of the day, no net change right?

2.4 million to use this year that will be added in 2024 and 2025. Kick the can down the road type of situation to create cap space for this season.

Are you at all concerned about "wear on his tires”?  I heard Syracuse worked him very very hard.

Minimal risk. In my plans no rb will see the second contract anyway
