Who hired him?  It's a terrible career move if no one knows whether Ron Rivera will survive beyond next season.  I don't see the Commanders being anything better than a 3rd-place team in the division, and if Rivera and Del Rio get fired I don't see any way Bieniemy survives under a new coaching regime.

The only way this would make sense from Bieniemy's perspective is if he was hired by Jason Wright directly.

I think this kind of confirms the elephant in the room with Bieniemy that he was never calling plays in KC, and now he’ll have an opportunity to do so in WAS so he wants a chance to prove himself. There’s something more to why he hasn’t been hired as a HC other than the "everyone is racist” trope that keeps floating around out there. The guy literally interviewed with half the league and didn’t get a job. Ryan Poles (black by the way), was in the same building with Bieniemy and didn’t even interview him for the Chicago job last year. Ballard was also in the building with him in KC and decided to pass in Indy as well.

If you listen to the Kelce podcast, Travis never mentions Bieniemy on there as to why they are so successful. It’s always Reid and Mahomes, and they talk a lot of good X’s and O’s football on that pod.

Houston interviewed him last year and passed him up for two other black coaches in Lovie and now DeMeco.

So there is a reason why he’s not getting a head coaching job, and I’m not chalking it up to 50% of the league is racist.

I'd be all on board Jamaal Williams as a rotational piece and having him with Kelce in the locker room would be gold.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a Philip Walker kind of signing.  Younger and a lot cheaper than the guys mentioned.

I don't see any of those WR here.  Pascal deserves more looks and he isn't going to get them here.  Nelson would never come back here and Mack Hollins is more of an outside WR.

I'd be happy with Philip Walker, Jamaal Williams and DeAndre Carter.

I was on board with williams during the draft, Howie took 165lb Humphrey instead.☹️

Williams I would love. He will cost more than Miles though

I don't know if Pascal is going to get more looks. His value was higher last year where he was more of a featured WR with the Colts and he still had no one interested in him. He feels like an Eagles "glue guy" that they keep around for depth and locker room chemistry.

I always wondered if a HC job was offered but he said no thanks.

Didn't the Eagles want to interview him before they hired Sirianni and he basically said nah I'm good?

Let's face it.  Reid is a proven great play caller but Mahomes can make things happen that aren't there initially.   Nobody can improvise like Mahomes does.

Even as great as AR is I think Mahomes makes him look better.

Edwards will get us a high comp pick, and we already have Dean to replace him.

I will be Surprised if Elliss isn’t in the linebacker mix for next year.

I would love Pascal back but 15 catches, yikes.  I'm sure he could be a 30+ catch guy for some team that doesn't have AJ, DeVonta and Goedert in front of him.

Free agents I could see the Eagles having interest in:

QB: Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew, Andy Dalton. Mariota if he's cut.

RB: Kareem Hunt, Jamaal Williams, Jerick McKinnon, David Montgomery.

WR: Zach Pascal, Nelson Agholor(hey, Eagles need a cheap slot guy), Mack Hollins(maybe a return? he's been pretty decent since he left)

Why would you ever pay second contract money to a Free Agent RB?

Williams last contract was 2-years $6 million.  He's going to be 28 going in to the season but a backfield of a draft pick, Gainwell and Williams would be really solid (considering the DP is a decent player).

nice

They aren't going to cost a lot. I'm guessing Williams and Hunt get about 3-5m aav.

Hunt might get 3-5 but it's not millions of dollarinos

There are exceptions- I believe Jamaal Williams was on 2yr $6M contract - ran for a thousand yards and a boat load of TDs. You stick to the bargain bin is all.

I'd much prefer Rex Ryan but haven't heard we have any interest in him.  At least Rex has put together some great defenses.  Seems like we are only interested in minorities for our coordinator spots based on names we have been tied to so far with interest though.  Howie trying to play the long game with the comp picks.

How many teams in the NFL run a scheme comparable to what we did last year?

Narrow it down to internal candidates plus the select few for that fit.  I guarantee you Lowie would not (and should not) want to make a change with that.  Perhaps some external candidates would be willing to adapt to it, but no one is in the mood for a year with adjustment pains.

I'd go all in on the racist rule and exclusively hire minority candidates for the coordinator jobs.

This is a good OL class. 3 OL are going top 15. There might be 3 pure iOL who go in RD1.

Kind of disagree.

It’s a deep OL class, but there aren’t any blue chip type prospects. The top 3 OTs all have significant weaknesses. And I only see 1 interior OL getting drafted in the first.

That said, there will be a LOT of OTs in the second and third rounds though.

Lots of guys that will reliably play the position in the NFL and perform admirably as starters for a while.

That's not necessarily a fit for what our offense has come to rely on from our OL.

There’s a lot of value in second and third tier RBs IMO. They don’t make much more than draft picks in the first 3 rounds, your risk is lower because you know they can play in the NFL, and it frees up a pick for a more expensive position.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I’m waiting to reserve judgment on what to do with T and G in the draft until Kelce makes a decision and they decide on Seumalo.

I think Hunt would be a monster behind our line.

Exactly.

The best way I can describe this class is niche talent. Lots of big guys without high end athleticism, lots of athletic guys without size, lots of technicians without a plus physical trait.

Our OL is built around athletic freaks. Broderick Jones is the only first rounder who comes close to fitting what we look for in an OT, but even he is smaller than we generally prefer.

Maybe I missed some prospects, but as far as I’m aware there aren’t any "project” OL available… guys with plus size and athleticism who displayed appropriate aggressive mentality on the field but need a year or two of coaching. I figure that’s the kind of prospect we should be looking for, hopefully in the mid or late rounds.
