Chad Reuter trade idea:

Eagles get 23, 87, 1st in 2024

Vikings get 10

Thats trash for the Eagles in my opinion.

I would probably do that.

That ... sounds a lot like Jason Peters background?  I think there may be a formula at play here.

I'd absolutely do that.  Grab Bijan at 23, BPA at 30 (d lineman).

Also the value chart works out very favorably for us in a trade like thsi.

Frankly, I wonder if it was a clumsy attempt to appease Iowa residents after the switch to SC as the lead primary from Iowa’s caucus for the Democrats rather than any "including everyone”.  Cynic in me wonders if the same approach would have happened if SC was the final loser.  The whole SC/Iowa factor is a bit ironic looking at it from that perspective.  The inclusion theory reeks of a participation ribbon to me.  Guess the Eagles are still waiting for that invite as are the Phillies. Didn’t see anything about an Aztecs invite either.  I mean, she didn’t propose it for last year’s tournament loser.  The whole invite thing is grandstanding and really hasn’t had much impact on me since the Gump Dr. Pepper incident.

Whatever Jill Biden's intentions were, apparently now she's a racist in some peoples eyes for inviting Iowa.

Run to the podium if that's offered. No-brainer.

Vikings have the potential to be really bad next year.

Please explain how.

I'd prefer Jake Whitt on Day 2 to OL at 10.

Yeah their defense stunk last year and yet they still managed to make the playoffs. I get they won A bunch of close games but the nfc is still not great. Eagles, niners and Dallas are at the top. Lions with the moves they made are in the next tier. Then got the nfc south winner. Meaning the Vikings with cousins are competing for two wild card spots with giants, commanders with Sam howell, packers with Jordan love, bears with fields, the nfc south teams that don’t win the division (tampa, falcons, saints and panthers are still likely not very good particular Carolina with rookie Qb and tampa with baker), cardinals without Murray, rams and seattle. I’d still think they’d make the playoffs just due to the nfc being what it is. Probably picking anywhere from 15-22

The Eagles prioritize athleticism over other traits.  I don't think weight or even height is a significant concern.  Dillard also had below average arm length. I think they will definitely go OT with one of the first round picks.

I have the Vikings conservatively as a 10-7 team next year.

The Vikings get the NFC South and AFC West as their non-divisional games next season.  Put them at 3-1 vs the NFC South, 2-2 vs the AFC West, I'll put them 4-2 vs their division -- Bears are bad, Packers are down, Lions are the Lions until they show otherwise.  Their first place schedule is at Bengals, at Eagles, home to SF.  I'll put them as 1-2 in those games.

That's some pretty good clay for Stoutland to mold into an OL.

I like that proposed Vikings trade, but the only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't help much this year, meanwhile we already have a projected 12 picks next year. I'd probably do it because it's a future first, but I think I would ask for more in 2023 than a late third for moving back 13 spots in the first.

I think she just was trying to be nice and my guess is that she liked the Iowa team.  She had no grand political strategy but was likely caught up in the emotion of the game. She's not trying to build a base in Iowa for Joe.

As to the racism part of it, who knows what unconscious bias or conscious bias Jill Biden may have.  Everyone is too sensitive about race and not senstive at once all at the same time.  Sometimes people make race based decisions due to bias.   Bias becomes racism when the it's attached to some power.  If someone calls some decision I made racist or privileged (which has happened), I don't feel the need to defend myself.  I know I have biases which coud impact decisions based on race.  I know I grew up and still am exposed to people who harbor racial prejudice.  Our brain makes decisions about people based on leaps of logic that oare connected to those biases.  Everyone has racial bias just because race like any other characteristic of a person is connected to some idea or thought process in our brains.  The best I can do is to try and if someone says I am failing examine why that is.

As a further aside, it's clear that some people were upset at Angel Reese and others are not.  I am somewhat put out by her behavior.  I think part of it is the result of my biases and some of those are undoubtedly connected to racial prejudice and sexism. It's not that hard for me to say, my feeling about her behavior have nothing do with her behavior and everything to do with me.

He was also the valedictorian of his class.  I really want him to be an Eagle.

Make no mistake, he's a huge project.  Only slightly more polished than Mailata. I suspect we can get him later in the draft.

I prefer Stout interviews him and works him out. Determine if he is a potential Peters or Mailata and is willing to work to get there.  At Northern Michigan, he was a man surrounded by boys.  Technique is raw.  A waist bender at 6’7” in the NFL is a roller skater. So can he get and maintain the right anchor and bend.  Can he time his slide step?  Punch?  But most of can he take instruction and relearn under Stout.  Is he just an OT or can he play some G.  Can he play both sides?  Measurables are nice but don’t make it alone.  Pretty green.  Just the kind of player you want Stout to have time to evaluate.

Skoronski is a really good prospect, but every time I see him mocked to the Eagles I wanna scream, DO YOU IDIOTS EVEN KNOW WHO JEFF STOUTLAND IS

That's all true. What it boils down to I think, is that he believes he's a top-10 pick and wants to be paid accordingly.. As a business decision, it seems less egregious to me than what Elway or Manning did.

I sympathized with them too.

This is somewhat of a slippery slope for a team, though. Carter is clearly an individual who needs to learn about consequences, and so far he has lived a consequence-free life. So if a team rewards his prior behavior by making him a top 10 pick, they risk seeing his decision-making tree take a few turns further in the wrong direction, rather than suddenly going in the right direction.

Personally, I wouldn't touch him. I would risk passing on the next Fletcher Cox to avoid picking the next Rae Carruth.

I agree that he is making a business decision, but so are the teams. And if Carter is the guy who is going to throw a fit about not being a top 10 pick, when there is a universe where he could be dead or in jail right now if things had gone slightly differently, then I would be thinking long and hard before I picked him.
