Hypothetical: If Washington offered Chase Young + #16 for #10 & 2024 2nd would you do it?

I'm leaning no. It's tempting but it's a big risk. And then on top of that risk already we would be also have the risk of picking up/declining his $18M option for next year before getting to see how he plays this year. That's a lot to take on while also wanting to pay your QB.

He took more than a year to get back from the injury which seems like a longer than normal time frame.  I wonder how severe the injury was.  He only played 115 snaps in 2022.  It's weird to attribute the decision to his health rather than just saying no decision has been made.

I have the Vikings conservatively as a 10-7 team next year.

The Vikings get the NFC South and AFC West as their non-divisional games next season.  Put them at 3-1 vs the NFC South, 2-2 vs the AFC West, I'll put them 4-2 vs their division -- Bears are bad, Packers are down, Lions are the Lions until they show otherwise.  Their first place schedule is at Bengals, at Eagles, home to SF.  I'll put them as 1-2 in those games.

I’d had them at 9-8 so not much different than you did. I think they likely lose all 3 of this games to the bengals, niners and eagles or go 3-3 in the division. Bears and lions are better. Packers worse but I still think the Packers have enough talent to win a game against Minnesota. If Daniel Jones was able to do it with the Giants, I could see Jordan Love winning. That said, I don’t see them being bad. They are likely a playoff team in the NFC. The Saints last year you could see a path because their schedules looked daunting before the season and their quarterback situation was worse than the Vikings because he didn’t know what Jameis Winston was going to be coming back for his knee injury.

They could just extend him instead, right? Not that it would be cheaper or less risky

They had to graft part of his patellar tendon in his good knee to fix the bad one.

The gif battle was pretty funny actually

I would probably do that.

I would want a 2nd, 4th and 2024 1st to do it.  If they did it for a 3rd and 2024 1st, I would need some junk pics in the 6th and 7th that could be used to move up and down the later rounds.

Sure but how would that play out? He's a generational talent and likely wouldn't agree to a low cost extension right now. If I was forced into this situation, I would probably decline his 5th year, make him play this year and figure it out from there.

I think when it's an autograft vs. allograft (cadaver), the healing time is supposed to be less.  I don't know that it tells you anything about the severity of the injury.  My guess is that certain surgeons just prefer one technique over another.

I definitely don't know much about medical stuff, I just know they said it was a little more complex than a normal surgery. Plus he weakened his good knee so he had to rehab both which took longer.

Please explain how.

The Vikings had a negative point differential, meaning they're an 8-9 team. They got worse this off-season given their additions/subtractions. Their division is also tougher. Their AFC opponents are the AFC West and the Bengals. Their NFC crossovers are the Eagles/49ers and NFCSouth (much easier, admittedly).

There's a real 5-12 path for the Vikings. And a top 10 pick in 2024 >>>>> 2023.

Didn't know y'all were cops

I was truly stunned by our poll result from yesterday. As you can see above, an overwhelming majority of you — 78 percent to be exact — said fans who storm the field should be arrested. No mercy.

Just 16 percent of you thought it was harmless, while a tiny 6 percent wanted more. I thought about doing another poll asking about punishment, but I don’t think I want to know the answer. The Pulse is officially against field stormers.

Thank you, as always, for voting.

The reason I like the eggs is because you know they're fresh because they're only made for Easter. I prefer the original cups, that slight crispness of the ridges makes it a whole other level better. The problem is these days I'd say 7/10 times I buy a bag from the supermarket, the peanut butter inside is stale. It's crumbly and starts to fade in color and the flavor really fades. If you get a batch though where the PB is super fresh, colorful and has that fresh roasted flavor you can't beat em. The eggs always have that because they haven't been sitting around for who knows how long somewhere.

Since we are talking Easter candy, my grandmother always sent us Zitner's coconut cream eggs from PA to NM when we were kids.  We couldn't wait to open the box.  Thinking about it, I may just have to order some so it feels like Easter.

If we somehow made this trade, my pants would be off immediately.  To be fair, that also doesn't take much.

This idiot is all over the place. Today he's campaigning why Bijan Robinson should be the pick at #10.

I prefer Stout interviews him and works him out. Determine if he is a potential Peters or Mailata and is willing to work to get there.  At Northern Michigan, he was a man surrounded by boys.  Technique is raw.  A waist bender at 6’7” in the NFL is a roller skater. So can he get and maintain the right anchor and bend.  Can he time his slide step?  Punch?  But most of can he take instruction and relearn under Stout.  Is he just an OT or can he play some G.  Can he play both sides?  Measurables are nice but don’t make it alone.  Pretty green.  Just the kind of player you want Stout to have time to evaluate.

Like the idea of getting OT with upside to be developed by Stout.  The fleshy players, particularly with other issues, cost too much to acquire and may not work out well.

As far as I could listen to, he was suggesting if Carter is still on the board at #6 or 7 the Eagles should make the call about moving up.

Forgetting the off field stuff about Carter and only focusing on cost, I believe the trade up would need to be with SEA at #5 because DET at #6 has already had Carter in for an official visit.  I believe Carter will be the Lions pick at 6 unless even more info against Carter comes out.

The price to move up from #10 to 5 according to the Trade Value Chart means the Eagles would need to give up both #62 and #94 to make that trade (or 2024 draft capital, but escalate by one full round to compensate for the year).  That would leave the Eagles with a 2023 draft class of:

Jalen Carter

Pick #30

Pick #219

Pick #248

What could go wrong?

I pretty much assumed you were always posting pants free.

In fairness to ESP he said on the air today that Carter should be the pick first if he's there.
