Doesn’t appear Ryan Neal got a lot of money. Wonder if Desai didn’t vouch for him. You’d figure he’d be an Eagle if Desai implored Howie to sign him and raved about him.

Rowe must be 40 by now…

He's 2 years younger than Slay

The shiny helmet needs to go also.  Matte helmet would be sick.

Matte continues to grow on me for helmets and cars.  Probably a counter reaction to shiny.  On the helmets it is annoying to look at (in person anyway) and on cars they make the car look like a toy.

Damn. Slay is playing well for a 42-year-old.

When you're a crap franchise like the NYG and you expect a RB to change the franchise, that's a mistake.

When you're a very good franchise, with a great team, adding a top RB can take you to the next level.

That's the big difference IMO.  A guy like Robinson wouldn't come here to be the savior and then have a team built around him.  He'd be coming in here to be one of the final pieces to take them over the top.

I understand the sentiment of getting over the top, but it's also tough staying at the top.  You get Robinson at the expense of addressing a defense which is leaking oil or shoring-up an aging OL with questionable depth - basically the signature elements that got the team into contender status.

Superstar Running Backs and non top-5 QBs on megadeals are no no’s

And they didn't even draft him either.

he hasn't been offered anything from any team so using the term "holding out" is extremely weak.

top end backup

How many backups in the league would be better than Wentz?  Please list them because I doubt there are more than 10 if that.

More likely scenario is Eagles plan on trading for an established safety, whether with that 30th pick or other picks.

I hope that to be the case. There are three or four I'd be thrilled with. Branch, Battle, S. Brown, Skinner

My worry is that they bring in someone cheap after the draft like Amos and call it a day.

Implementing a newish scheme with an anointed rookie - bold move.

Presumes Howie doesn’t draft BPA but rather for need.  He learned that lesson with Watkins the fireman.

I don't grade drafts that you did using google docs.

Still holding out hope for John Johnson

I guess he's holding out for negative money - these guys are getting peanuts.

Or drafting Jaiquan Jarrett with the next pick.

Haha, it is bizarre that he hasn't signed somewhere yet.

Can't imagine there being any reset in the safety market. He's going to be scraping the barrel wherever he signs. Hopefully here.

Johnson, Edmunds, Blankenship, Rookie is decent enough to contend.

That goes completely against Howies track record of drafting and playing rookies. He even said on Kelces podcast he regrets putting Seumalo out there before he was ready just because he was a high pick.

I think Howie will probably wait until training camp and trade a pick from 2024.  I also am not sure what safety would be available that would warrant a first round pick.  The Chargers just signed Derwin James to an extension last year.  Maybe they could target Antoine Winfield Jr.  He played more slot CB, I think, for the Bucs.  I can't imagine they wouldn't want to hold onto him unless they just want to rebuild the team.

backups are game managers. Wentz is a game loser. Its on tape. Almost all of them.
