We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I would not be upset at all if the Eagles drafted Penn States Joey Porter Jr. in the 1st round, he would provide depth at CB and is great at Press Coverage. Nickel CB A. Maddox played I feel his best year last season but did get injured, having Joey in Dime coverage or as peace of mind that he can fill in for Maddox should he get injured and have the time to learn on the bench for his first year without the need to play a lot of snaps is a luxury pick. I could see the Eagles trading up from 30th pick should he fall outside top 15.

How much would you be okay with GM Howie Roseman trading up with Cardinals at 3rd spot for Will Anderson Jr. (assuming he's not drafted before the 3rd overall pick)?
I mean he's probably the best edge pass rusher in this draft, but trading up from 10 to 3 is going to be pricy.
Would you be okay with giving up no. 10, no. 30, and both of our 2nd round draft picks next year to move up?

Does she know about all the stuff that happens in @olsilverhair’s trailer?

I am going to go with no.
On that note, I'm going to go to bed. See ya.

Would hate everything about trading up to 3. We're about to be a thin roster and Anderson wouldn't even start for us in 2023.

The draft might be my favorite NFL related viewing besides the SB with the Eagles in it.

The NFL draft is probably my favorite event all year, I get more excited for it than the holidays or even my birthday. It’s funny though because it is incredibly boring for non football fans or even casual fans. Last years draft I was traveling with some friends, told them I can’t miss the draft. I hyped it up like crazy. They got excited. We were all in a hotel room & they were into it at first but fell asleep by pick 4. Told me after they don’t get why I love it so much lol

Sneaky best addition for 2023:

Ridley-Kirk-Jones is gonna be a strong WR corps for Trevor

My friends and I are going to KC for the draft. Travis Kelce is apparently DJing some event my friends want to go to, so that’s a nice bit of hell for me.

Bring a Christian Gonzalez sign and boo Lukas Van Ness at 10.

I don't agree. Right now we do not have a quality backup at either tackle position. Driscoll will do in a pinch but he's limited, although he's fine at RG if Jurgens gets hurt. If we draft either Jones or Johnson I think the plan will be to coach them at tackle, ideally on both sides but that may be problematic.

We run a lot of outside zone and for that we need guys who can pull. Kelce, obviously, is the key, but Jurgens is exceptional on pulls as well. Another trick Stoutland employed was to pull Seumalo from RG to block on the outside left side. I expect Jurgens can do this, having been worked at RG in our system. I'm not so sure about any of the tackles in the draft. Mauch, maybe, but no one else. Plus, I don't think of Mauch as a tackle at the pro level.

My short answer is Jones or Johnson, tackle only. JMHO.

What is your take of  Roderick Johnson at swing OT? He has some athleticism and some experience.

Im lost as to why this is such a bad deal?  Eagles signed Alshon to a 1 year $14M deal 6 years ago.  Not like this is some outlandish amount.  Yes he's coming off an injury but one that was over a year ago and come the start of the season it would be over a year and a half since the injury.

Alshon was 27 and not injured. OBJ is 30/31 and hasn’t played a game of football in over a year while tearing his ACL twice.

I look at Mauch as our future at RG, but provides tackle depth right now.

I think my 3 favorites at 10 are Broderick Jones, Christian Gonzalez, and Devon Witherspoon. Deonte Banks is guy I’d target if we trade back.

At 30 give me either Cody Mauch, Anton Harrison, O’Cyrus Torrence, Brian Branch

Down for Gibbs in a trade back

Second round my top choice is now Marvin Mims, otherwise either Antonio Johnson, Jack Campbell, Keeanu Benton, Zach Charbonnet

3rd round either Chandler Zavala or Jaylen Reed

If we draft IOL semi early give me Chandler Zavala

Alshon was always banged up and injured.  His last two seasons in Chicago he played 9 and 12 games.  It's a one year deal for a WR with a lot of talent that was last seen being a major impact player in the playoffs on route to a Super Bowl win.

If it were a multi year dealbthen I would get thr criticism but it's not.

F no. This team is getting old on both sides of the line and at corner, we cannot be giving away picks like the Paul Holmgren flyers

The lost opportunity cost makes a move like that a bad one in my opinion.  Anderson is loved by many folks, but I personally believe there is a fair amount of projection in that love.

Why?

If the Eagles want to win the Super Bowl next year, get a RB1 and WR3 early.

Did you watch how well our defense played in the Super Bowl? And you think upgrading the OFFENSE is the ticket?

No such thing as a dominant defense anymore. Rules neutered the defense, and maybe they needed to for player safety. You cannot play the QB or the WRs the way dawk, ray Lewis, etc did. The goal of the defense is now to get enough stops to get your offense into a lead, and hopefully some takeaways.  Chasing a dominant defense with high picks will never bring back the 2004 defense. Can’t play that way anymore.
