Umm, yeah, no.  We don't need someone coming in to mess up chemistry and we definitely don't need someone who isn't self motivated.  Much rather Nolan Smith or Murphy.

So… you admit that sanders "crumbling” contributed to the loss…but don’t see the virtue in adding a better back….

ok

No one is arguing that the position cannot be upgraded. The question is whether a valuable draft pick should be used. Think about the punter position.  Do you think using a first round pick on a punter makes sense? Certainly, a better punter could have prevented one score in the Super Bowl.

I hope Carter wears 88 when the Eagles draft him.

I wouldn’t be shocked.

I just think Howie is going to look at the draft class and want to trade down.

He may trade up for either Carter or Anderson but I think you’re right.

Bud Dupree signs with the Falcons.  Bijan will be the pick IMO for Atlanta

This can’t be a serious attempt to make a point, right?

What's more concerning...the fact that this guy might be the Eagles pick or the fact that the guy they traded 4 picks to pick could be so easily influenced to be lazy himself?

I've never not wanted a player so much.

It’s decent value, but 2 edges in the first round when we already have 4 on the roster is a bit much. Spread the wealth

Sweat, a helluva and athlete, Davis, Williams, Smith, Reddick.  Someone is going to get the QB.  Like that better than Sweat, Davis, Williams, Graham/Barnett (for one year), Reddick.  In the former, Smith learns from BG and BG keeps fresh.

Lol i thought i had picked Anton for the Eagles and Adebawore for Chiefs to help replace the loss of Frank Clark.  Whoopsies

What seems to me to be missing in the discussion of guards is quality. The position in most of the posts I've read is treated generically. If the starter is a JAG, then any replacement can be a JJAG without much loss of production. However, if the guard is a high quality player, you will lose production and in particular in the run game. It has been my mantra for decades that you pass with tackles and you run with guards. Replace one mediocre guard with another, no big deal. Replace a mediocre guard with a stud and you make a big jump, as the Eagles did when they added Dickerson in 2021 in place of Matt Pryor.  Big jump in yardage ~ 700yards.

If there was a Zack Martin or a Quentin Nelson or a Larry Allen or a Shawn Andrews, etc. there would be no question as to the value of the player. The problem this year is that there is no such player. There are a number of guys who could follow the Isaac Seumalo track, say, and become outstanding guards with good coaching and experience, but there is no one who can come in and make this team notably better at the position this year. Skoronski seems a semi-popular name but in my limited view Jurgens is a better player right now and will continue to improve while Skoronski will be what he is now, technically very sound but physically limited. Kind of like Driscoll.

I am not averse to drafting a guard at #10 by any means, but not from this year's group.

I could actually be convinced to try this -- what's the worst that can happen??

I guess people listened to Shiel and Fran Duffy and are now on the Falcons will draft Bijon train.  It is a winnable division but they are on a road to nowhere without a QB

This is why we should have just signed Zach Allen in the first place

They just traded for a CB and signed an EDGE....

Bijan Robinson just dropped from +1600 to +1000 to be drafted by the Eagles.

I suspect Jurgens is the RG to start the season.  That’s why I was looking at a player like Seumalo, meaning position versatility that might be trained for a year by Stout.  I figure that may be a Day 2 pick.  So no earlier than 62 as the draft stands.  Other than Avila, who like Mauch, Torrence probably won’t t be there at 62, any you like?  I do find it interesting they brought in Wright for a visit. Small trade down from 30 would put him in the crosshairs.

Tbh that defense needs a ton of help. Frankly the falcons could use more of a pass catching option even with London and pitts. Don’t see Scottie miller or hollins as no. 2 receivers on a team that’s good. Their running game with Patterson and allgeier was pretty damn effective last year. Heck allgeier only started 7 games and finished top 15 in rushing. also getting okudah for a 5th is a gamble worth taking but i don’t think they have him penned in long term with what he’s shown so far in his career. And Hayward is 33. Add on Campbell and Dupree are solid additions. I don’t think either are in the falcons long term plans as both are one year contracts . I still wouldnt rule out Cb or pass rusher

I've allowed myself to talk myself into this actually being a possibility. Which is scary because in my entire life the Eagles have never drafted the player I most loved in a draft. I do think it is possible with rumors about teams liking Wilson more, Cardinals possibly trading down, Howie having a history of trading up for guys he loves and thinks will be difference makers.

Because the chances of him being there at 10 seem to be dropping
